UPDATE—APPEAL DENIED | Russian Court Convicts Brother Aleksandr Prianikov, Along With Sisters Venera and Darya Dulova
On February 8, 2024, the Sverdlovsk Regional Court denied the appeal of Brother Aleksandr Prianikov and Sister Venera Dulova. Their suspended prison sentences will now come into force. They are not required to go to prison at this time. The case against Sister Darya Dulova was dismissed because she was under 18 at the time of the alleged offense and the statute of limitations for minors had expired.
On March 14, 2023, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation reversed the decision to acquit Brother Aleksandr Prianikov and Sisters Venera and Darya Dulova. Their case will now be returned to the appeal stage.
On March 15, 2022, the Sverdlovsk Regional Court overturned the conviction of Aleksandr, Venera, and her daughter Darya. However, all three still face conviction in a separate case.
On January 27, 2020, the Karpinsk City Court convicted Aleksandr, along with Venera and Darya. The court issued them suspended prison sentences of two and a half years, two years, and one year, respectively. Although they will not go to prison, they will be on probation for the duration of their sentences. They will appeal their convictions.
