Letter From Governing Body

Dear Kingdom Publisher:

Imagine say you be one of Jesus apostles and you dey there for Mount of Olives when Jesus appear for your front. As e want start to de go heaven, e talk say: “Una go get power when una receive holy spirit, and una go tell people about me for Jerusalem, for everywhere for Judea and Samaria, and for every corner for the earth.” (Acts 1:8) How you go feel?

You fit feel say wetin e talk no dey possible because the work big well-well. You fit de think say, ‘As we no plenty so, how we fit preach go reach “every corner for the earth”?’ You fit remember the kind warning wey Jesus give for the last night before e die, when e talk say: “slave no de big pass im oga. If them don suffer me, them go suffer una too. If them obey my word, them go obey una own too. But them go do all this things to una because of my name, because them no know the Person wey send me.” (John 15:20, 21) When you think about wetin e talk, you fit ask yourself say, ‘How I fit preach well even though say people go suffer me?’

Today, we de face the same condition wey the apostles face. Our work as Jehovah people na to continue to preach well about the Kingdom of God to “people from all the nations” wey dey “for every corner for the earth.” (Matt. 28:19, 20) How we fit take do this work especially when people de suffer us because of the work as Bible talk?

Wetin dey Acts of Apostles na the sweet story of how Jehovah help the apostles and other Christians for their time to fit do the preaching work. This book wey you de read now go help you to learn many things wey happen to the Christians for that time. E go move you to feel the same way wey them feel as them happy to see how the preaching work de grow fast-fast. You go surprise to see say, many of the things wey Jehovah people de do today, na wetin brothers for the apostles time do. You go see say, no be only say we de do the same work, but na the same way we de do the work. If you take time think about the things wey them do that time, wey we still de do today, e go make you dey sure more-more say Jehovah God de continue to direct the work for this part of im organization wey dey for earth.

We de hope and pray say as you de study the book of Acts, e go make you trust Jehovah more-more say e go help you, and say e go use im holy spirit give you power to endure. If you do the things wey you learn from this book, e go encourage you to continue to de “preach well” about the Kingdom of God and you go fit help other people come know Jehovah and get hope to enjoy life wey no go end.—Acts 28:23; 1 Tim. 4:16.

Your brothers,
