Kufuze bona uJesu udiniwe ngemva kokuthandaza ubusuku boke, bese akhethe abafundi abali-12 babe bapostoli. Sekusemini nje, kodwana usesenamandla nesifiso sokusiza abantu. Wenza lokho entabeni eseGalile, mhlamunye eduze nalapha anzinze khona eKapernawumi.

Iinqubuthu zabantu ezize kuye zivela eendaweni ezikude. Abanye eenqubuthwinezi bavela ngesewula, eJerusalema neendaweni zeJudiya. Abanye bavela emadorobheni amagega nelwandle leTirosi neSidoni etlhagwini-tjingalanga. Bazokwenzani kuJesu? ‘Bazomlalela begodu balatjhwe ekuguleni kwabo.’ UJesu akabadanisi, ‘ubalapha boke.’ Cabanga! Boke abagulako bayalatjhwa. UJesu ulapha ngitjho nalabo ‘abatshwenywa mimoya emimbi,’ abahlunguphazwa ziingilozi ezimbi zakaSathana.—Lukasi 6:17-19.

Ngemva kwalokho uJesu ufumana indawo enabileko entabeni, bese isiqubuthu siyambungelela. Kungenzeka abafundi bakhe, khulukhulu abapostoli abali-12, ngibo abaseduze naye. Boke bazimisele ukuzwa umfundisi lo, okghona ukwenza imikarisomraro enje. UJesu wethula itjumayelo ebasiza kwamambala abantu abamlaleleko. Kusukela mhlokho, itjumayelo le isize iingidigidi zabantu. Nathi singazuza kiyo, ngombana inamaqiniso atjhujileko athulwe ngendlela elula nezwisisekako. UJesu ukhuluma ngezinto abantu abazijayeleko. Lokhu kwenza iimfundiso zakhe zizwisiseke kibo boke abafuna ipilo engcono endleleni kaZimu. Ngimaphi amaphuzu ayihloko wetjumayelo kaJesu, ayenza ibe ligugu kangaka?

BABANTU ABANJANI ABATHABE KWAMAMBALA?

Woke umuntu ufuna ukuthaba. UJesu uyakwazi lokho, kungakho athoma ngokuhlathulula ukuthi abantu abathabe kwamambala ngabanjani. Cabanga ukuthi lokhu kubadosa kangangani abantu abamlaleleko. Kodwana ezinye izinto azitjhoko ziyabarareja.

Uthi: “Bayathaba abaziko bona batlhoga uZimu, ngombana umBuso wezulu ungewabo. Bayathaba abalilako, ngombana bazokududuzwa. . . . Bayathaba abalambele nabomele ukulunga, ngombana bazokwaneliswa. . . . Bayathaba abahlunguphazwa ngebanga lokulunga, ngombana umBuso wezulu ungewabo. Niyathaba nabanithukako, banihlunguphaze . . . ngebanga lami. Thabani nijekezele.”—Matewu 5:3-12.

Utjho ukuthini uJesu nakathi “bayathaba”? Akatjho ukuthaba kokuhleka, kwangaphandle, njengalokha umuntu nakazithabisako namkha asebumnandini. Ithabo lamambala lisehliziyweni. Libandakanya ukuba nomuzwa wokwaneliseka kwamambala ekuphileni.

UJesu uthi abantu abathabe kwamambala ngilabo abalemukako ukuthi batlhoga uZimu, abatlhuwiswa sisono abanaso, abafunda ngoZimu bamazi begodu bamlotjhe. Nanyana bangahloywa namkha bahlunguphazelwe ukwenza intando kaZimu, bayathaba ngombana bayazi ukuthi bayamthabisa nokuthi uzobabusisa ngokuphila okungapheliko.

Kodwana abantu abanengi bacabanga ukuthi ukunjinga nokugijimisa ubumnandi ngikho okwenza umuntu athabe. UJesu utjho okuhlukileko. Uveza umahluko owenza abalaleli bakhe bacabange, uthi: “Maye kini abanjingileko, ngombana senibufumene boke ubumnandi benu. Maye kini abasuthiko nje, ngombana nizokulamba. Maye, nina enihlekako nje, ngombana nizokulila. Maye kini lokha boke abantu banikhuluma kuhle, ngombana ngilokho abokhokho babo abakwenza ebaphorofidini bamanga.”—Lukasi 6:24-26.

Kubayini athi maye kwabanjingileko, abahlekako ngebanga lethabo, nabadunyiswa babantu? Ngombana nangabe umuntu unezintwezi, begodu uziqala njengeziligugu, angakuphayela eqadi ukulotjha uZimu ngokunjalo azidime ithabo lamambala. UJesu akatjho ukuthi ukuba dududu nokulamba ngikho okwenza umuntu athabe. Kodwana ngokujayelekileko, mumuntu odobha phasi olalela iimfundiso zakaJesu begodu afumane isibusiso sethabo lamambala.

Aqalisele ebafundini bakhe, uJesu uthi: “Nilitswayi lephasi.” (Matewu 5:13) Akatjho bona balitswayi lamambala. Kunalokho, itswayi lisetjenziselwa ukwenza izinto zihlale isikhathi eside. Kubekwe itswayi elinengi eduze ne-aldara ethempelini lakaZimu, kunungwa ngalo imihlatjelo. Godu lifanekisela ukungonakali namkha ukungaboli. (Levitikusi 2:13; Hezekiyeli 43:23, 24) Abafundi bakaJesu ‘balitswayi lephasi’ ngomqondo wokuthi bangasiza abantu bahlale isikhathi eside, babasize bona bangonakalisi ubuhlobo babo noZimu, bagegede nokuziphatha okubolileko. Kwamambala, umlayezwabo ungasindisa ukuphila kwabo boke abawulalelako.

UJesu uraga nokukhuluma nabafundi bakhe, uthi: “Nikukhanya kwephasi.” Isibani asibekwa ngaphasi kwesitja kodwana sibekwa endaweni ephakemeko, ukuze sikhanyisele woke umuntu. Yeke, uJesu ubakhuthaza ngokuthi: “Ukukhanya kwenu akukhanye kibo boke abantu, khona bazakubona imisebenzenu emihle, badumise uYihlo osezulwini.”​—Matewu 5:14-16.

UBEKELA ABALANDELI BAKHE IZINGA ELIPHEZULU

Abadosiphambili bekolo yamaJuda bathi uJesu weqa umThetho kaZimu, begodu mvanje bebarera ukumbulala. UJesu ukhuluma ngokutjhaphulukileko, uthi: “Ningacabangi bona ngizele ukuqeda umThetho namkha amezwi wabaPhorofidi. Ngizele ukuwuzalisa ingasi ukuwuqeda.”—Matewu 5:17.

UJesu uwuhlonipha khulu umThetho kaZimu, ukhuthaza nabanye bona bawuhloniphe. Uthi: “Yeke, nanyana ngubani oweqa ngitjho nomncani wemiyalo le, afundise nabanye bonyana baweqe, kuzakuthiwa ngomncani emBusweni wezulu.” Utjho bona umuntu onjalo angekhe angene emBusweni. Uraga uthi, “Kodwana nanyana ngubani owulalelako, afundise nabanye ukuwulalela, kuzokuthiwa ngomkhulu emBusweni wezulu.”—Matewu 5:19.

UJesu usola ngitjho nokuziphatha okwenza umuntu eqe umThetho kaZimu. Ngemva kokuveza ukuthi umThetho uthi, “Ungabulali,” uJesu ungezelela ngokuthi: “Woke umuntu ohlala athukuthelele umfowabo uzokusiwa ekhotho.” (Matewu 5:21, 22) Ukusolo uthukuthelele omunye umuntu yintwembi khulu, kungadosela ngitjho ekubulaleni. UJesu uhlathulula indlela ekufuze sikulwele ngayo ukwenza ukuthula, uthi: “Yeke, nawuletha umnikelwakho e-aldara bese ukhumbula bonyana umfowenu unokuthileko ngawe, tjhiya umnikelwakho phambi kwe-aldara, ukhambe. Libalelana nomfowenu qangi, bese ubuyele uyokwenza umnikelwakho.”—Matewu 5:23, 24.

Omunye umThetho ukhandela ubufebe. UJesu uthi: “Nizwile kwathiwa: ‘Ungafebi.’ Kodwana mina ngithi kini, nanyana ngubani osolo aqale umfazi ngokumkhanuka, sekafebe naye ngehliziywenakhe.” (Matewu 5:27, 28) UJesu akakhulumi ngomcabango odlulako wokuziphatha okusilapheleko, kunalokho ugandelela ubumbi ‘bokusolo uqalile.’ Kanengi, ukusolo uqalile kuvusa ikanuko yomseme. Yeke, nakungavela ithuba kungadosela ekufebeni. Ungakukhandela njani lokhu bona kungenzeki? Kungatlhogeka amagadango aqinileko. UJesu uthi: “Nangabe ilihlo lakho langesidleni likwenza wone, likhuphe ulilahle. . . . Nangabe isandla sakho sangesidleni sikwenza wone, siqunte usilahle.”—Matewu 5:29, 30.

Ukuze basindise ukuphila kwabo, abanye abantu bakhetha ukudela isitho somzimba esigulako. Kungakho uJesu athi kuqakathekile ‘ukulahla’ nanyana yini, ngitjho nento eligugu njengelihlo namkha isandla, bona umuntu abalekele imicabango esilapheleko nemiphumela yayo. UJesu uthi: “Kungcono ukungabi nesitho sinye somzimba kunokobana umzimbakho woke uphoselwe eGehena” (indawo yokutjhisela iinzibi ebeyingaphandle kweJerusalema), okutjho ukutjhatjalaliswa kwaphakade.

UJesu ukhuluma nangendlela yokusebenzelana nabantu abalimaza abanye begodu babone. Uthi: “Ungaphikisani nomuntu omumbi, kunalokho nanyana ngubani okuwahla ngepama emhlathini wangesidleni, mnikele nowangesinceleni.” (Matewu 5:39) Lokho akutjho bona umuntu angeze azivikela namkha avikele umndenakhe nawuhlaselwako. UJesu ukhuluma ngepama, engakenzelwa ukulimaza namkha ukubulala omunye umuntu, kunalokho yenzelwe ukurhuga. Utjho ukuthi nangabe umuntu uyakutlhorhoroja bona ulwe namkha uphikisane naye ngamezwi, kungaba ngokukuwahla ngepama namkha ngokukuthuka, ungazibuyiseleli.

Iselulekwesi sivumelana nomthetho kaZimu wokuthanda umakhelwana. Nje-ke, uJesu ululeka abalaleli bakhe: “Ragelani phambili nithanda izitha zenu nithandazele nalabo abanihlunguphazako.” Unikela ibanga elinamandla lokwenza lokho, uthi: “Khona nizakuba bantwana bakaYihlo osezulwini, ngombana yena wenza ilanga liphumele abenza okumbi nabenza okuhle.”—Matewu 5:44, 45.

Nakarhunyeza ingcenye le yetjumayelwakhe, uthi: “Kufuze niphelele, njengombana noYihlo wezulwini aphelele.” (Matewu 5:48) UJesu akatjho ukuthi abantu abanesono bangaphelela. Kodwana ngokulingisa uZimu, singakhulisa ithando lethu lihlanganise nokuthanda ngitjho namanabethu. Ngamanye amezwi uJesu uthi: “Ragelani phambili ninesirhawu, njengombana noYihlo anesirhawu.”—Lukasi 6:36.

UMTHANDAZO NOKUTHEMBELA KUZIMU

UJesu uraga netjumayelwakhe, ukhuthaza abamlaleleko uthi: “Yelelani bona ukulunga kwenu kungabi ngekokubukisa.” UJesu ukusola khulu ukuzenza ngasuthi ukholiwe, ungezelela ngokuthi: “Nawupha abantu abanganalitho, ungabethi ibhorompita, njengombana kwenza abazenzisi.” (Matewu 6:1, 2) Lokha umuntu nakapha abantu abanganalitho, kungcono abaphele ngemsitheleni.

UJesu uthi: “Nanithandazako, ningenzi njengabazenzisi, ngombana bathanda ukuthandaza bajame emasinagogeni nemakhoneni weendlela ezikulu, bona babonwe babantu.” Kunalokho uthi: “Wena nawuthandazako, ngena ngekamurwenakho, uvale umnyango, uthandaze kuYihlo osekusithekeni.” (Matewu 6:5, 6) UJesu akaphikisani nemithandazo yoke eyenziwa tjhatjhalazi, ngoba naye khewayenza imithandazo enjalo. Akavumelani nemithandazo eyenziwa bona ikare abalaleleko bese kubukwe abayenzako.

Nakaluleka isiqubuthu sabantu, uthi: ‘Nanithandazako, ningasolo nibuyelela into yinye kanengi, njengombana kwenza abantu beentjhaba.’ (Matewu 6:7) UJesu akatjho ukuthi akukafaneli bona umuntu abuyelele into yinye nakathandazako. Uphikisa ukusebenzisa amezwi owabambe ngehloko ‘uwabuyelele,’ ukuthandaza ungasacabangi ngamezwi ofuna ukuwatjho. Ngemva kwalokho, wenza umthandazo osibonelo oneembawo ezilikhomba. Iimbawo zokuthoma ezintathu zikhuluma ngelungelo lakaZimu lokulawula neminqopho yakhe—ukuthi ibizo lakhe licwengiswe, umBuswakhe uze, nokuthi intandwakhe yenziwe. Ngemva kokuthandazela izintwezi, singabawa izinto ezisithinta mathupha. Izintwezi zihlanganisa ukudla kwaqobe langa, ukulitjalelwa izono, ukubawa bona singalingwa ngaphezu kwamandlethu, nokuthi uZimu asisindise komumbi.

Ipahlethu kufuze iqakatheke kangangani kithi? UJesu ukhuthaza abantu abamlaleleko uthi: “Ningazibekeli umnotho ephasini lapho ungadliwa ziingogwana nokukghora, nalapho amasela angena khona ebe.” Kuzwisiseka khulu lokho! Umnotho uyaphela begodu ukuba nawo akusenzi abangani bakaZimu. Kungebangelo uJesu athi: “Zibekeleni umnotho ezulwini.” Lokho singakwenza ngokubeka izinto zakaZimu qangi epilweni. Akekho umuntu ongaqeda isikhozi sethu esihle noZimu namkha umvuzo wokuphila okungapheliko. Mbala aliqiniso amezwi kaJesu athi: “Lapho umnothwakho ukhona, kulapho nehliziywakho izokuba khona.”—Matewu 6:19-21.

UJesu ugandelela iphuzweli ngokwenza umfanekiso: “Ilihlo sibani somzimba. Yeke ilihlo lakho nalidzimelele entweni yinye, umzimbakho woke uzokukhanya. Kodwana nangabe ilihlo lakho linomona, umzimbakho woke uzokuba mnyama.” (Matewu 6:22, 23) Nangabe ilihlo lethu elingokomfanekiso lisebenza kuhle, lifana nesibani esikhanyisiweko emzimbenethu. Kodwana bona libe njalo, ilihlo lethu kufuze lidzimelele entweni yinye; nakungasinjalo, singaba nombono ophambeneko ngokuphila. Ukudzimelela emnothweni kunokulotjha uZimu kungenza ‘umzimbethu woke ube mnyama,’ mhlamunye singathoma ukwenza izinto ezisolisako namkha ezisenzela igama elimbi.

UJesu wenza esinye isibonelo esinamandla uthi: “Akakho ongaba sigqila samakhosi amabili; ngombana uzokuzonda enye athande enye, namkha uzokunamathela kwenye adelele enye. Angekhe naba ziingqila zakaZimu nezobuGwili.”—Matewu 6:24.

Kungenzeka bona abanye abalalele uJesu bayazibuza ukuthi kufanele bazifumane njani izinto abazitlhogako zokuphila. Nje-ke uyabaqinisekisa ukuthi bangatshwenyeki nangabe babeka ukulotjha uZimu qangi. “Qalisisani iinyoni eziphapha phezulu; azitjali, azivuni namkha zibeke ngeenlulwini, kodwana uYihlo wezulwini uyazondla.”—Matewu 6:26.

Singathini ngamathuthumbo wommango aphezulu entabeni? UJesu uthi “ngitjho noSolomoni ebukhazikhazini bakhe bekangambathi njengamanye wamathuthumbo la.” Kutjengisani lokhu? “Nangabe uZimu uzembathisa njalo iintjalo zommango ezikhona namhlanjesi kusasa ziphoselwe ngemlilweni, uzonembathisa kangangani-ke nina?” (Matewu 6:29, 30) Ngokuhlakanipha uJesu ubaqinisa idolo uthi: “Ningatshwenyeki ngokuthi, ‘Sizokudlani?’ namkha, ‘Sizokuselani?’ namkha, ‘Sizokwembathani?’ . . . UYihlo wezulwini uyazi bona niyakutlhoga koke lokhu. Yeke ragelani phambili nifuna umBuso kaZimu qangi nokulunga kwakhe, koke okhunye nizakuphiwa khona.”​—Matewu 6:31-33.

INDLELA YOKUFUMANA UKUPHILA

Abapostoli nabanye abathembekileko bafuna ukuphila ngendlela ethabisa uZimu, kodwana kubudisi ngaphasi kobujamo abaqalene nabo. Ngokwesibonelo, abaFarisi abanengi babaphatha kabuhlungu begodu bayabanyefula. Nje-ke uJesu uyala abantu abamlaleleko, uthi: “Lisani ukwahlulela ukuze nani ningahlulelwa; ngombana ngesahlulelo enahlulela ngaso, nani nizokwahlulelwa ngaso.”—Matewu 7:1, 2.

UJesu wenza umfanekiso ukutjengisa ingozi yokulandela abaFarisi abanyefulakwaba, uthi: “Isiphofu angekhe sanqophisa isiphofu, akusinjalo? Angeze na zawela ngemgodini zombili?” Alo, abantu abalalele uJesu kufuze babaqale njani abanye abantu? Akukafuzi babanyefule, ngombana lokho kungaba yintwembi khulu. UJesu uyabuza: “Ungatjho njani kumfowenu ukuthi, ‘Mfowethu, ngibawa ukukhupha ilithi elingelihlweni lakho,’ khisibe wena awusiboni isigodo esingelihlweni lakho? Mzenzisi! Thoma ngokukhupha isigodo esingelihlweni lakho, bese uzokubona kuhle ukuthi ungalikhupha njani ilithi elingelihlweni lomfowenu.”—Lukasi 6:39-42.

Lokhu akutjho ukuthi abafundi abakafuzi bahlulele. UJesu uyabakhuthaza, uthi: “Ninganikeli izinja izinto ezicwengileko namkha niphosele amaparelenu ezavukazaneni.” (Matewu 7:6) Amaqiniso aseliZwini lakaZimu aligugu, njengamaparela angokomfanekiso. Nangabe abanye abantu baziphatha njengeenlwana, bangawathabeli amaqiniso aligugu la, abafundi kufuze babatjhiye bayokufuna abalalelako.

UJesu ubuyela endabeni yomthandazo, ugandelela ukuthi kuqakatheke khulu ukuphikelela kiwo. “Phikelelani nibawa, nizakuphiwa.” UJesu utjengisa ukuthi uZimu ukulungele ukuphendula imithandazo, ngokubuza ukuthi: “Ngubani kini, ongathi indodanakhe nayimbawa isikwa, ayiphe ilitje? . . . Ngalokho, nangabe nina, ngitjho nanyana nibambi, nikwazi ukupha abantwabenu izipho ezihle, uYihlo osezulwini uzobapha kangangani-ke izinto ezihle labo abambawako!”—Matewu 7:7-11.

UJesu ukhuluma into eseyibe mthetho wokuziphatha odumileko, uthi: “Zoke izinto enifuna abantu bazenze kini, nani kufuze nizenze kibo.” Kufuze sikhumbule begodu sisebenzise isiyalwesi nasisebenzisana nabanye. Kungaba budisi ukwenza lokho, njengombana isinqophiso sakaJesu sitjengisa: “Ngenani ngesango elincani, ngombana ivulekile begodu ibanzi indlela etjhinga ekubhujisweni, banengi nabakhamba kiyo; kodwana lincani isango elitjhinga ekuphileni nendlela yakhona iminyene, bambalwa abayifumanako.”​—Matewu 7:12-14.

Kunabanye abazokulinga ukuphambukisa abafundi endleleni eya ekuphileni, nje-ke uJesu ubayelelisa uthi: “Yelelani abaphorofidi bamanga abeza kini bambethe isikhumba semvu, khisibe ngaphakathi baziimpisi ezirharulako.” (Matewu 7:15) UJesu uthi imithi emihle nemithi emimbi ibonakala ngeenthelo zayo. Kunjalo nangabantu. Nathi abaphorofidi bamanga singababona ngeemfundiso nangezenzo zabo. UJesu uthi akusingilokho umuntu akutjhoko kwaphela okumenza umfundakhe, kodwana nalokho akwenzako. Abanye bathi uJesu yiKosabo, kodwana kuthiwani nabangenzi intando kaZimu? UJesu uthi: “Mina ngizokuthi kibo: ‘Anginazi! Sukani kimapha, nina nsebenzi zokungabi namthetho!’ ”​—Matewu 7:23.

Nakavala itjumayelwakhe, uJesu uthi: “Woke umuntu ozwa amezwami la awenze, uzokuba njengendoda ehlakaniphileko eyakha indlwayo phezu kwedwala. Kwana izulu, kwafika iinkhukhula, nommoya wayimadlha indlu leyo, kodwana akhenge igirike, ngombana yakhiwe phezu kwedwala.” (Matewu 7:24, 25) Kubayini ingakhange igirike? Ngombana indoda le “yemba yatjhinga phasi khulu yabeka isisekelo edwaleni.” (Lukasi 6:48) Nje-ke, kunengi okubandakanyekako kunokuzwa amezwi kaJesu. Kufuze silwele ‘ukuwenza.’

Alo, kuthiwani ‘ngomuntu ozwa amezwi la’ kodwana “angawenzi”? ‘Unjengendoda esidlhadlha eyakha indlwayo phezu kwehlabathi.’ (Matewu 7:26) Izulu, iinkhukhula nommoya kungayigiriza indlu leyo.

Abantu bararekile ngendlela uJesu afundisa ngayo. Ufundisa njengomuntu onelawulo ingasi njengabadosiphambili bezekolo. Kungenzeka ukuthi abanengi ebebamlalele baba bafundi bakhe.
