Kumelwe ukuba uJesu ukhathele ngemva kokuchitha ubusuku bonke ethandaza, wabe esekhetha abafundi abangu-12 ukuba babe abaphostoli. Manje sekusemini, kodwa usenawo amandla nesifiso sokusiza abantu. Lokhu ukwenza entabeni eGalile, cishe endaweni engekude nalapho umsebenzi wakhe ugxile khona eKapernawume.

Kunezixuku ezivela ezindaweni ezikude, ezize kuye. Ezinye zivela ezansi ngaseningizimu, ezinye eJerusalema nasezindaweni eziseJudiya. Ezinye zivela emadolobheni angasogwini aseThire naseSidoni enyakatho ntshonalanga. Kungani zizofuna uJesu? ‘Zizele ukuzomlalela nokwelashwa ekuguleni kwazo.’ Yilokho kanye okwenzekayo—uJesu ‘ubelapha bonke.’ Cabanga nje! Bonke ababegula sebelashiwe. UJesu usiza “nalabo ababekhathazwa imimoya emibi,” abantu ababehlushwa yizingelosi ezimbi zikaSathane.—Luka 6:17-19.

Ngemva kwalokho, uJesu uthola indawo eqondile khona entabeni, futhi izixuku zibuthelana kuye. Abafundi bakhe, ikakhulukazi abaphostoli abangu-12, cishe yibo abaseduze kakhulu naye. Bonke balangazelela ukuzwa okuzoshiwo yilo mfundisi okwazi ukwenza izimangaliso ezinje. UJesu unikeza intshumayelo ngokusobala ezuzisa izilaleli zakhe. Kusukela ngaleso sikhathi kuze kube manje, baningi kakhulu abanye asebezuzile kuyo. Nathi singazuza ngenxa yokuthi amaqiniso ayo ajulile, abekwe ngendlela elula necacile. UJesu ukhuluma ngezinto abantu abazijwayele. Lokhu kwenza izimfundiso zakhe ziqondakale kubo bonke abantu abafuna ukuphila okungcono ngendlela kaNkulunkulu. Yiziphi izinto ezenza intshumayelo kaJesu ibaluleke kangaka?

OBANI ABAJABULA NGEMPELA?

Wonke umuntu ufuna ukujabula. Njengoba ekwazi lokhu, uJesu uqala ngokuchaza ukuthi obani abajabula ngempela. Cabanga ukuthi lokhu kwenza zimnake kangakanani izilaleli zakhe. Kodwa kumelwe ukuba ezinye izinto ziyazidida.

Uthi: “Bayajabula abaqaphelayo ukuthi bayamdinga uNkulunkulu, ngoba uMbuso wamazulu ungowabo. Bayajabula abalilayo ngoba bayoduduzwa. . . . Bayajabula abalambele futhi bomele ukulunga ngoba bayosuthiswa. . . . Bayajabula abaye bashushiswa ngenxa yokulunga ngoba uMbuso wamazulu ungowabo. Niyajabula lapho abantu benihlambalaza, benishushisa . . . ngenxa yami. Jabulani nithokoze.”—Mathewu 5:3-12.

Usho ukuthini uJesu uma ethi “bayajabula”? Akakhulumi ngokujabula kokwenama njengalapho abantu besebumnandini. Injabulo yangempela ijulile. Ihlanganisa ukwaneliseka kwangempela nokugculiseka ngokuphila.

UJesu uthi abantu abaqaphelayo ukuthi bayamdinga uNkulunkulu, abadabukayo ngenxa yokuthi banesono, nabafunda ngaye baze bamazi bese bemkhonza, yibo abajabula ngempela. Ngisho noma bezondwa noma beshushiswa ngenxa yokwenza intando kaNkulunkulu, bayajabula ngoba bayazi ukuthi bayamjabulisa nokuthi uzobanika umvuzo wokuphila phakade.

Nokho, abantu abaningi bacabanga ukuthi ukuchuma nokugijimisa injabulo yikona okwenza umuntu ajabule. UJesu usho okuhlukile. Esebenzisa ukuqhathanisa okumelwe ukuba kwenza izilaleli zakhe eziningi zicabange, uJesu uthi: “Maye kini nina enicebile, ngoba seniyitholile kakade induduzo yenu. Maye kini enisuthi manje ngoba niyolamba. Maye kini enihlekayo manje, ngoba niyolila futhi nikhale. Maye kini noma nini lapho bonke abantu bekhuluma kahle ngani, ngoba yilokho okhokho babo abakwenza kubaprofethi bamanga.”—Luka 6:24-26.

Kungani ukuba nengcebo, ukuhleka ngenxa yokujabula nokudunyiswa abanye kuletha umaye? Kungenxa yokuthi lapho umuntu enalezi zinto futhi ziyigugu kuye, angase angazikhathazi ngokukhonza uNkulunkulu bese elahlekelwa injabulo yangempela. UJesu akaqondile ukuthi ukuba mpofu nje ngokwako noma ukulamba kwenza umuntu ajabule. Nokho, ngokuvamile abantu ezingabahambeli kahle izinto yibo abasabelayo ezimfundisweni zikaJesu bese bethola isibusiso senjabulo yangempela.

Ecabanga ngabafundi bakhe, uJesu uthi: “Nina ningusawoti womhlaba.” (Mathewu 5:13) Yiqiniso ukuthi abawona usawoti wangempela. Kunalokho, usawoti wenza izinto zingaboli. Kunosawoti omningi ogcinwa eduze kwe-altare ethempelini likaNkulunkulu, osetshenziselwa ukunonga iminikelo. Umelela nokungonakali noma ukungaboli. (Levitikusi 2:13; Hezekeli 43:23, 24) Abafundi bakaJesu ‘bangusawoti womhlaba’ ngomqondo wokuthi ithonya labo kubantu liyalondoloza, lisiza abantu bagweme ukonakala ngokomoya nangokuziphatha. Umyalezo wabo ungalondoloza ukuphila kwabo bonke abawulalelayo.

UJesu ubatshela nalokhu abafundi bakhe: “Nina ningukukhanya kwezwe.” Isibani asibekwa ngaphansi kukabhasikidi kodwa sibekwa othini lwesibani, lapho esizokwazi khona ukukhanyisa. Ngakho uJesu unxusa abafundi bakhe: “Ukukhanya kwenu makukhanye phambi kwabantu, ukuze babone imisebenzi yenu emihle bese benika uYihlo osemazulwini inkazimulo.”—Mathewu 5:14-16.

IZINDINGANISO EZIPHAKEME AZIBEKELE ABAFUNDI BAKHE

Abaholi benkolo yobuJuda babheka uJesu njengomuntu ophula uMthetho kaNkulunkulu, futhi basanda kumakhela uzungu lokumbulala. Ngakho uJesu uthi phambi kwabo bonke: “Ningacabangi ukuthi ngizele ukuchitha uMthetho noma abaProfethi. Angizelanga ukuchitha kodwa ukugcwalisa.”—Mathewu 5:17.

Ngempela, uJesu uwuhlonipha kakhulu uMthetho kaNkulunkulu futhi ukhuthaza nabanye ukuba bawuhloniphe. Empeleni uthi: “Ngakho, noma ubani ophula owodwa wale miyalo emincane kunayo yonke nofundisa abanye ukwenza lokho, kuyothiwa mncane kunabo bonke ngokuqondene noMbuso wamazulu.” Uqonde ukuthi lowo muntu ngeke angene nhlobo eMbusweni. Uyaqhubeka: “Kodwa noma ubani oyigcinayo futhi ayifundise, kuyothiwa mkhulu ngokuqondene noMbuso wamazulu.”—Mathewu 5:19.

UJesu ulahla ngisho nendlela yokucabanga engaba nomthelela wokuthi umuntu ephule uMthetho kaNkulunkulu. Ngemva kokuphawula ukuthi uMthetho uthi “Ungabulali,” uJesu uyanezela: “Wonke umuntu oqhubeka ethukuthelele umfowabo uyoyiswa enkantolo.” (Mathewu 5:21, 22) Ukuqhubeka uthukuthelele omunye umuntu kuyindaba ebucayi, mhlawumbe engaholela ngisho nasekubulaleni. Ngakho uJesu uchaza ibanga umuntu okumelwe alihambe ukuze enze kube nokuthula: “Uma uletha isipho sakho e-altare bese ukhumbula usulapho ukuthi umfowenu unokuthile ngawe, shiya isipho sakho lapho phambi kwe-altare, uhambe. Qale wenze ukuthula nomfowenu bese uyabuya unikele isipho sakho.”—Mathewu 5:23, 24.

Omunye umyalo oseMthethweni, yilowo owenqabela ukuphinga. UJesu uthi: “Nizwile ukuthi kwathiwa: ‘Ungaphingi.’ Kodwa mina ngithi kini, wonke umuntu oqhubeka ebuka owesifazane aze amkhanuke, usephingile naye kakade enhliziyweni yakhe.” (Mathewu 5:27, 28) UJesu akakhulumi nje ngomcabango wokuziphatha okubi odlulayo, kunalokho uqokomisa ukuthi kuyindaba ebucayi lapho umuntu ‘eqhubeka ebuka.’ Ukuqhubeka komuntu ebuka ngokuvamile kuvusa inkanuko. Khona-ke lapho ithuba livela, umphumela ungaba ukuphinga. Umuntu angakugwema kanjani lokhu ukuba kungenzeki? Kungase kudingeke izinyathelo eziqinile. UJesu uthi: “Manje, uma iso lakho lesokudla likwenza ukhubeke, likhiphe ulilahle kude. . . . Uma isandla sakho sokudla sikwenza ukhubeke, sinqume usilahle kude.”—Mathewu 5:29, 30.

Ukuze basindise ukuphila kwabo, ngokuzithandela abanye abantu baye badela amalunga omzimba wabo asuke enesifo esiyingozi. Ngezizathu ezizwakalayo uJesu uthi kubaluleke kakhulu ukulahla noma yini, ngisho nento eyigugu njengeso noma isandla ukuze umuntu agweme imicabango yokuziphatha okubi nezenzo eziyimiphumela yayo. UJesu uyachaza: “Kungcono ukulahlekelwa elilodwa lamalunga akho kunokuba umzimba wakho wonke uphelele eGehena” (indawo okushiswa kuyo udoti ngaphandle kwezindonga zaseJerusalema), okufanekisela ukubhujiswa phakade.

UJesu unikeza neseluleko mayelana nendlela yokusebenzelana nabantu abasizwisa ubuhlungu nabasicasulayo. Uthi: “Ningalwi nomuntu omubi; kodwa noma ubani okushaya ngempama esihlathini sesokudla, mphendulele nesinye futhi.” (Mathewu 5:39) Lokhu akusho ukuthi umuntu akufanele azivikele noma avikele umndeni wakhe lapho uhlaselwa. UJesu ukhuluma ngokushaywa ngempama, into engahloselwe ukulimaza umuntu noma ukumbulala, kunalokho ehloselwe ukumcasula. Uqonde ukuthi uma umuntu ezama ukukuchukuluza ukuze nilwe noma niphikisane, kungaba ngokukushaya ngempama noma ngokusebenzisa amazwi okudelela, ungaziphindiseleli.

Leso seluleko siyahambisana nomthetho kaNkulunkulu wokuthanda umakhelwane wakho. Ngakho uJesu weluleka izilaleli zakhe: “Qhubekani nithanda izitha zenu, nithandazela nalabo abanishushisayo.” Unikeza isizathu esinamandla sokuthi kungani: “Ukuze nizibonakalise ningamadodana kaYihlo osemazulwini, njengoba yena enza ukuba ilanga lakhe liphumele abantu ababi nabahle.”—Mathewu 5:44, 45.

UJesu uphetha le ngxenye yentshumayelo yakhe ngokuthi: “Ngakho kumelwe nibe ngabaphelele, njengoba noYihlo wasezulwini ephelele.” (Mathewu 5:48) Ngokusobala akaqondile ukuthi abantu bangaphelela ngokugcwele. Nokho, ngokulingisa uNkulunkulu, singalwenabisa uthando lwethu, size sithande ngisho nezitha zethu. Ngamanye amazwi uthi: “Qhubekani niba nesihe, njengoba nje noYihlo enesihe.”—Luka 6:36.

UMTHANDAZO NOKWETHEMBELA KUNKULUNKULU

Njengoba uJesu eqhubeka nentshumayelo yakhe, unxusa izilaleli zakhe: “Qaphelani ukuba izenzo zenu ezinhle ningazenzi phambi kwabantu ukuze nibonwe yibo.” UJesu uyabulahla ubuzenzisi babantu abashaya sengathi besaba uNkulunkulu. Uthi: “Lapho wenzela abampofu okuhle ngesihe, ungaqali ngokushaya icilongo, njengoba nabazenzisi benza.” (Mathewu 6:1, 2) Kungcono ukupha abantu izipho zesihe ekusithekeni.

Ngokulandelayo, uJesu uthi: “Uma nithandaza, ningenzi njengabazenzisi ngoba bathanda ukuthandaza bemi emasinagogeni nasemakhoneni emigwaqo emikhulu ukuze babonwe abantu.” Ube esethi: “Wena, lapho uthandaza, ngena ekamelweni lakho futhi ngemva kokuvala umnyango, uthandaze kuYihlo osekusithekeni.” (Mathewu 6:5, 6) UJesu akamelene nayo yonke imithandazo eyenziwa phambi kwabantu ngoba naye wayenza imithandazo enjalo. Ulahla imithandazo eshiwo ngenjongo yokuhlaba izilaleli umxhwele nokufuna ukunconywa.

Weluleka isixuku: “Lapho uthandaza, ungaphindaphindi izinto ezifanayo, njengoba kwenza abantu bezizwe.” (Mathewu 6:7) UJesu akaqondile ukuthi ukuthandazela into efanayo ngokuphindaphindiwe akulungile. UJesu wayegxeka ukusetshenziswa ‘ngokuphindaphindiwe’ kwemithandazo eshiwo ngekhanda. Ube esenikeza umthandazo oyisibonelo, onezicelo eziyisikhombisa. Ezintathu zokuqala ziqokomisa ilungelo likaNkulunkulu lokubusa nezinjongo zakhe—ukuba igama lakhe lingcweliswe, ukuba uMbuso wakhe uze nokuba intando yakhe yenziwe. Kungemva kokuba sesenze lezo zicelo kuphela lapho kufanele sicele khona izinto ezithinta thina, njengokudla kwansuku zonke nokuthethelelwa kwezono zethu, kanye nezicelo zokuba singalingwa ngaphezu kwalokho esingakuthwala nokuba sikhululwe komubi.

Kufanele zibaluleke kangakanani kithi izinto esinazo? UJesu unxusa isixuku: “Yekani ukuzibekelela ingcebo emhlabeni, lapho inundu nokugqwala kudla khona, nalapho amasela egqekeza khona ebe.” Ave sinengqondo leso seluleko! Ingcebo ingashabalala futhi iyashabalala, kanti ukuba nayo akusisizi sibe nobuhlobo obuhle noNkulunkulu. Ngokuvumelana nalokho, uJesu ube esethi: “Zibekeleleni ingcebo ezulwini.” Lokhu singakwenza ngokubeka inkonzo kaNkulunkulu kuqala ekuphileni kwethu. Akekho ongasiphuca ubuhlobo bethu obuhle noNkulunkulu, noma umvuzo wokuphila okuphakade. Ayiqiniso ngempela la mazwi kaJesu: “Lapho umcebo wakho ukhona, yilapho nenhliziyo yakho iyoba khona.”—Mathewu 6:19-21.

Ukuze agcizelele leli phuzu, uJesu wenza lo mfanekiso: “Isibani somzimba yiso. Ngakho uma iso lakho ligxile entweni eyodwa, wonke umzimba wakho uzokhanya. Kodwa uma iso lakho lihaha, wonke umzimba wakho uzoba mnyama.” (Mathewu 6:22, 23) Uma iso lakho lisebenza kahle, liba njengesibani esikhanyayo emzimbeni wethu. Kodwa ukuze libe njalo, iso lethu kumelwe ligxile entweni eyodwa ngale kwalokho singase sibe nombono oyiphutha ngokuphila. Uma sigxila ekubeni nezinto esikhundleni sokukhonza uNkulunkulu lokho kungasho ukuthi ‘umzimba wethu wonke uzoba mnyama,’ mhlawumbe siqale ukungathembeki ezintweni esizenzayo.

UJesu ube esenikeza isibonelo esinamandla: “Akekho ongakhonza amakhosi amabili; ngoba uyozonda enye athande enye, noma anamathele kwenye, adelele enye. Anikwazi ukuba izigqila zikaNkulunkulu nezeNgcebo.”—Mathewu 6:24.

Abanye abalalele uJesu bangase bakhathazeke ngokuthi kufanele bazibheke kanjani izidingo zabo zokuphila. Ngakho uyabaqinisekisa ukuthi akudingeki bakhathazeke uma bebeka inkonzo kaNkulunkulu kuqala. “Bukisisani izinyoni zezulu; azihlwanyeli mbewu noma zivune noma zibuthele ezinqolobaneni, nokho uYihlo osezulwini uyazondla.”—Mathewu 6:26.

Kuthiwani ngezimbali zasendle ezisentabeni? UJesu uveza ukuthi “ngisho noSolomoni enkazimulweni yakhe yonke wayengahlobile nanjengeyodwa yazo.” Lokhu kubonisani? “Uma uNkulunkulu ezigqokisa kanjalo izitshalo zasendle, ezikhona namuhla ngakusasa ziphonswe eziko, ngeke yini nina anigqokise nakakhulu?” (Mathewu 6:29, 30) UJesu ubanxusa ngokuhlakanipha: “Ningalokothi nikhathazeke nithi, ‘Sizodlani?’ noma, ‘Sizophuzani?’ noma, ‘Sizogqokani?’ . . . UYihlo wasezulwini uyazi ukuthi niyazidinga zonke lezi zinto. Ngakho, qhubekani nifuna kuqala uMbuso nokulunga kwakhe, khona-ke zonke lezi ezinye izinto ziyokwenezelwa kini.”—Mathewu 6:31-33.

INDLELA YOKUTHOLA UKUPHILA

Abaphostoli nabanye abaqotho bafuna ukuphila ngendlela ejabulisa uNkulunkulu, kodwa lokhu akulula ngaphansi kwezimo ababhekene nazo. Ngokwesibonelo, abaFarisi abaningi bayagxeka, bahlulele nabanye kabuhlungu, ngakho uJesu uxwayisa izilaleli zakhe: “Yekani ukwahlulela ukuze ningahlulelwa; ngoba isahlulelo enahlulela ngaso, nani niyokwahlulelwa ngaso.”—Mathewu 7:1, 2.

Kuyingozi ukulandela abaFarisi abagxeka ngokweqile, njengoba uJesu ebonisa: “Impumputhe ngeke ihole impumputhe, akunjalo? Zombili ziyokhalakathela emgodini, akunjalo?” Ngakho izilaleli zikaJesu kufanele zibabheke kanjani abanye? Akufanele zibabheke ngeso lokugxeka, ngoba lokho kuyisono esikhulu. Uyabuza: “Ungasho kanjani kumfowenu ukuthi, ‘Mfowethu, ngivumele ngikhiphe uthi olusesweni lakho,’ kuyilapho wena ngokwakho ungaluboni ugodo olukwelakho iso? Mzenzisi! Khipha ugodo kwelakho iso kuqala, khona-ke uyobona ngokucacile ukuthi ungalukhipha kanjani uthi olusesweni lomfowenu.”—Luka 6:39-42.

Lokhu akusho ukuthi abafundi akufanele nhlobo bahlulele. UJesu uyabanxusa: “Ningaziniki izinja okungcwele, futhi ningawaphonsi amapharele enu phambi kwezingulube.” (Mathewu 7:6) Amaqiniso aseZwini likaNkulunkulu ayigugu, afaniswa namapharele. Uma abanye abantu beziphathisa okwezilwane, bebonisa ukuthi abanandaba nala maqiniso ayigugu, abafundi kufanele babashiye, bafune labo abazowamukela.

Ebuyela endabeni yomthandazo, uJesu ugcizelela isidingo sokuphikelela kuwo. “Qhubekani nicela, niyophiwa.” UNkulunkulu ukulungele ukuphendula imithandazo, njengoba uJesu ekugcizelela lokho ngokubuza: “Ngubani phakathi kwenu okuthi lapho indodana yakhe icela isinkwa ayinike itshe? . . . Ngakho-ke, uma nina, nakuba nibabi, nikwazi ukupha abantwana benu izipho ezinhle, yeka ukuthi uYihlo osemazulwini uyobapha kakhulu kangakanani izinto ezinhle labo abazicela kuye!”—Mathewu 7:7-11.

UJesu ube esesho lokho osekubhekwa njengomthetho wokuziphatha odumile: “Ngakho-ke, zonke izinto enifuna abantu bazenze kini, nani kumelwe nizenze kubo.” Akufanele yini sonke samukele leso sikhuthazo esihle futhi sisisebenzise lapho sisebenzelana nabanye? Nokho ukwenza kanjalo kungaba yinselele njengoba umyalo kaJesu ubonisa: “Ngenani ngesango elincane, ngoba likhulu isango futhi uvulekile umgwaqo oholela ekubhujisweni, baningi abangena ngalo; kanti lincane isango futhi inyinyekile indlela eholela ekuphileni, bambalwa abayitholayo.”—Mathewu 7:12-14.

Kukhona labo abazozama ukuchezukisa abafundi endleleni eholela ekuphileni, ngakho uJesu uyaxwayisa: “Qaphelani abaprofethi bamanga abeza kini bembethe isikhumba semvu, kodwa ngaphakathi beyizimpisi ezihahayo.” (Mathewu 7:15) UJesu uthi izihlahla ezinhle nezihlahla ezimbi zingabonakala ngezithelo zazo. Kunjalo nangabantu. Ngakho abaprofethi bamanga singababona ngezimfundiso zabo nangezenzo zabo. UJesu uyachaza ukuthi akukhona lokho umuntu akushoyo kuphela okumenza abe umfundi wakhe, kodwa nalokho akwenzayo. Abanye abantu bathi uJesu uyiNkosi yabo, kodwa kuthiwani uma bengayenzi intando kaNkulunkulu? UJesu uthi: “Ngiyothi kubo ngaleso sikhathi: ‘Angikaze nginazi! Sukani kimi, nina abenza okungemthetho!’”—Mathewu 7:23.

UJesu uphetha intshumayelo ngokuthi: “Wonke umuntu ozwa la mazwi ami awenze uyoba njengomuntu ohlakaniphile, owakha indlu yakhe edwaleni. Lase liyithela imvula, kwafika izikhukhula, kwavunguza nomoya wayishaya leyo ndlu, kodwa ayizange ibhidlike, ngoba yayisekelwe phezu kwedwala.” (Mathewu 7:24, 25) Kungani le ndlu ingazange ibhidlike? Kungenxa yokuthi lo muntu “wamba wajula wabeka isisekelo edwaleni.” (Luka 6:48) Ngakho kudingeka okungaphezu nje kokuzwa amazwi kaJesu, kumelwe sizikhandle ukuze ‘siwenze.’

Nokho, kuthiwani ngalowo “owezwayo la mazwi” kodwa “angawenzi”? ‘Unjengendoda eyisiwula, eyakha indlu yayo esihlabathini.’ (Mathewu 7:26) Imvula, izikhukhula nomoya kuyoyiwisa leyo ndlu.

Izixuku ziyakhexa ngenxa yendlela uJesu afundisa ngayo kule ntshumayelo. Ufundisa njengomuntu onegunya, hhayi njengabaholi benkolo. Cishe abaningi balabo abamlalele baba abafundi bakhe.
