Kusanda kushaya u-12 ebusuku. Abapristi bavumelene ngokukhokhela uJuda izinhlamvu zesiliva ezingu-30 ukuze akhaphele uJesu. UJuda uhola isixuku esikhulu sabapristi abakhulu nabaFarisi njengoba befuna uJesu. Bahamba nebutho lamasosha elihlomile lamaRoma kanye nomkhuzi walo.

Kusobala ukuthi lapho uJesu ethi uJuda akahambe esidlweni sePhasika, waqonda ngqo kubapristi abaphakeme. (Johane 13:27) Baqoqa izikhulu kanye nebutho lamasosha. Kungenzeka uJuda waqale wabayisa ekamelweni lapho uJesu nabaphostoli bakhe begubhele khona iPhasika. Kodwa manje isixuku sesiwelile eSigodini SaseKidroni, sesibheke ensimini. Siphethe izikhali nezibani, sizimisele ukuthola uJesu.

Njengoba uJuda ehola isixuku benyuka iNtaba Yeminqumo, unomuzwa wokuthi uyazi uzomthola kuphi uJesu. Ngesonto elidlule, uJesu nabaphostoli bakhe bebengapheli eBethaniya naseJerusalema, bebevamise ukudlula nasensimini yaseGetsemane. Kodwa manje kusebusuku futhi uJesu uphakathi kwezihlahla zeminqumo ensimini. Amasosha angakaze ambone uJesu, azokwazi kanjani ukuthi uyena muphi? UJuda uzokwenza okuthile ukuze amasosha ambone. Uthi: “Lowo engizomqabula esihlathini, nguye; mbopheni nihambe naye niqikelele ukuba angaphunyuki.”—Marku 14:44.

UJuda uya nesixuku ensimini futhi ubona uJesu nabaphostoli bakhe, bese eqonda ngqo kuJesu. UJuda uthi: “Sawubona, Rabi!” Wamqabula esihlathini. UJesu uyambuza: “Mfo, ubekwa yini lapha?” (Mathewu 26:49, 50) Uyaqhubeka athi: “Juda, ingabe unikela ngeNdodana yomuntu ngokuyiqabula?” (Luka 22:48) UJesu wanele uJuda!

UJesu usondela lapho kukhanya khona bese ebuza: “Nifuna bani?” Kuba khona ophendulayo esixukwini athi: “UJesu umNazaretha.” Ngesibindi uJesu uthi: “Nginguye.” (Johane 18:4, 5) Engakulindele lokho uJesu akwenzayo, la madoda awa phansi.

Kunokuba uJesu adle phansi aye endaweni emnyama, uphinde awabuze ukuthi afuna bani. Lapho ephinda ethi “uJesu umNazaretha,” ngomoya ophansi uthi: “Nginitshelile ukuthi nginguye. Ngakho uma nifuna mina, ayekeni la madoda ahambe.” Ngisho nakulesi sikhathi esibucayi, uJesu ukhumbula lokho akushilo ukuthi wayengeke alahlekelwe ngisho nangoyedwa kuwo. (Johane 6:39; 17:12) UJesu ubagcinile abaphostoli bakhe abathembekile futhi akukho noyedwa kubo olahlekile ngaphandle ‘kwendodana yokubhubha,’ uJuda. (Johane 18:7-9) Ngenxa yalokho uthi awayeke abalandeli bakhe abaqotho bahambe.

Njengoba amasosha esondela kuJesu, abaphostoli bayabona ukuthi kwenzekani. Bayabuza: “Nkosi, sigalele yini ngenkemba.” (Luka 22:49) Ngaphambi kokuba uJesu aphendule, uPetru uhosha enye yezinkemba kulezi ezimbili eziphethwe abaphostoli. Ugalela kuMalkusi, isigqila sompristi ophakeme asuse indlebe yakhe yesokudla.

UJesu uthinta indlebe kaMalkusi, ayelaphe. Ube esefundisa isifundo esibalulekile ngokuyala uPetru, athi: “Buyisela inkemba yakho endaweni yayo, ngoba bonke abaphatha inkemba bayofa ngenkemba.” UJesu uzimisele ukuboshwa, ngakho uthi: “Ibiyogcwaliseka kanjani imiBhalo ethi kumelwe kwenzeke ngale ndlela?” (Mathewu 26:52, 54) Uyenezela athi: “Akufanele yini ngiyiphuze indebe uBaba anginike yona?” (Johane 18:11) UJesu uyavuma ukuba kwenzeke lokho okuyintando kaNkulunkulu kuye, kuze kufike eqophelweni lokuba afe.

UJesu ubuza isixuku: “Ingabe nizele ukuzobopha mina niphethe izinkemba nemishiza njengokungathi nizobopha isigebengu? Usuku nosuku ngangivame ukuhlala nani ethempelini ngifundisa, kodwa aningibophanga. Kodwa konke lokhu kwenzeka ukuze kugcwaliseke imibhalo yabaprofethi.”—Mathewu 26:55, 56.

Ibutho lamasosha nomkhuzi walo nezikhulu zamaJuda, babamba uJesu bambophe. Lapho abaphostoli bekubona lokhu, bayabaleka. Nokho, “insizwa ethile”—okungenzeka umfundi uMarku—iyasala nesixuku ukuze ilandele uJesu. (Marku 14:51) Isixuku siyayibona le nsizwa sizame ukuyibamba, okuyiphoqa ukuba ishiye ingubo yayo yelineni njengoba izama ukubaleka.
