Prepare well. Determine why the passage was written. Practice expressing yourself by grouping several signs or phrases together to convey a thought or idea, rather than focusing on individual signs. Beware of inserting, skipping over, or substituting signs. Try to copy the way the signer in the video pauses as well as his facial expressions.

Produce each sign correctly. If a sign is unfamiliar to you, ask a native signer to help you understand it and sign it correctly.

Sign clearly. Use correct handshapes, proper palm orientation, correct role shifts and eye gaze, and appropriate facial expressions.
