Ibandla kudingeka lihlole ukuthi umshayeli akanalo yini icala legazi ngoba lifuna ukugwema ukuhlanganyela ecaleni legazi. (Duteronomi 21:1-9; 22:8) Umshayeli obangela ingozi okufa kuyo abathile angase abe necala legazi uma ayebudedengu noma ephule ngamabomu umthetho kaKhesari wokuphepha noma imithetho yomgwaqo. (Marku 12:14) Kodwa kunezinye izinto okudingeka zicatshangelwe.

Umbulali owayebalekela komunye wemizi yesiphephelo yakwa-Israyeli kwakudingeka aquliswe icala. Uma kutholakala ukuthi ubulale engahlosile, wayevunyelwa ukuba ahlale emzini, aphephe kumphindiseli wegazi. (Duteronomi 17:6; Mathewu 18:15, 16) Uma kutholakala ukuthi kunecala legazi, kufanele kumiswe ikomiti yokwahlulela. Uma ikomiti ithola ukuthi umuntu onecala legazi uyaphenduka, uyothola ukusolwa okufanelekayo okungokomBhalo futhi uyobekelwa imingcele maqondana namalungelo ebandleni. Ngeke aqhubeke ekhonza njengomdala noma inceku ekhonzayo. Kuyobekwa neminye imingcele. Futhi uyolandisa kuNkulunkulu ngobudedengu bakhe, ukunganaki, noma ukungaqapheli okubangele ingozi futhi kwafa othile.—Galathiya 6:5, 7.

Ngokwesibonelo: Uma isimo sezulu sasisibi ngesikhathi kwenzeka ingozi, umshayeli kwakufanele aqaphe kakhudlwana. Uma ayozela, kwakufanele ame aphumule buze buphele ubuthongo, noma kwakufanele acele omunye ukuba ashayele.

Ake sithi umshayeli wayehamba ngesivinini esikhulu. Uma noma imuphi umKristu eqa ijubane elisemthethweni, lokhu kuwukwehluleka ukubuyisela “kuKhesari izinto zikaKhesari.” Kubonisa nokuthi akabuhloniphi ubungcwele bokuphila, ngoba wayezibeke ethubeni lokwenza ingozi ebulalayo. (Mathewu 22:21) Uma kunjalo, cabangelani naleli phuzu elilandelayo. Umdala uwubekela siphi isibonelo umhlambi uma engayinaki imithetho yomgwaqo kaKhesari noma eyiphula ngamabomu?—1 Petru 5:3.

AmaKristu akufanele enze ukuba abanye bashayele ngesivinini ukuze bafike ngesikhathi esithile endaweni ethile. Ezimweni eziningi, kusuke kudingeka ukuba umuntu asuke kusenesikhathi noma ashintshe isimiso sakhe ukuze abe nesikhathi esanele sokuhamba endleleni. Uma enza lokhu, umKristu ngeke alingeke ukuba ashayele ngejubane elingaphezulu kwelifanele, kodwa uyokwazi ukuyilalela imithetho yomgwaqo kahulumeni, ‘amagunya aphakeme.’ (Roma 13:1, 5) Lokhu kuyosiza umshayeli ukuba aqaphe ukuba angenzi izingozi ezihilela ukufa komuntu, okungamenza abe necala legazi.
