THINGS like telephone, electric bulb, motor, and fridge na just some of the things wey man don produce to make life better. But some other things wey man produce don make people life dey for danger more-more. Things like gun, landmines (underground bomb), cigar, and atomic bomb. But something dey before all this things, and na this one don cause danger for man pass. Wetin be this thing? Na lie! Lie na when person talk wetin e know say no be true so that e go deceive another person. Who talk the first lie? Jesus Christ talk say na “Devil” be “the papa of lie.” (Read John 8:44.) Which time e talk the first lie?

² This one happen many years ago for garden of Eden. The first husband and wife, Adam and Eve, de enjoy life for Paradise. Na Jehovah give them this fine place. Then, Devil bring trouble come. E know say God command Adam and Eve make they no chop from “the tree wey de make person know good and bad,” and if they no obey they go die. But even with that one, Satan use snake tell Eve say: “Wuna no go die at all [na the first lie be that]. Because God know say the day wey wuna chop-am, wuna eye go open and wuna go be like God, wuna go know good and bad.”​—Gen. 2:15-17; 3:1-5.

3. Why the lie wey Satan talk dey wicked, and wetin that lie cause?

³ The lie wey Satan talk dey wicked because e know well-well  say if Eve follow wetin e talk and chop the fruit e go die. Adam and Eve break Jehovah’s law and after, they die. (Gen. 3:6; 5:5) Apart from that one, because of that sin “everybody de die.” True-true, “death rule as king . . . . Death even rule people wey they no sin the way Adam break the law of God.” (Rom. 5:12, 14) Na e make we no dey perfect and we no de live forever as God want-am. We de live reach “70 years, or 80 years if person really dey strong.” Even with that one, na so-so “trouble and pain plenty for inside.” (Ps. 90:10) All this trouble na because Satan lie!

⁴ Jesus explain this thing wey Satan do. E say: “E no use e heart support the truth because the truth no dey e heart.” Even till now, the truth no dey for Satan’s heart because e continue to “deceive the whole world” with e lie-lie. (Rev. 12:9) We no want make Devil deceive us. So, make we find answer to this three question: (1) How Satan de deceive people? (2) Wetin make people de lie? (3) If we no want lose our friendship with Jehovah like Adam and Eve, how all of us fit de “talk the truth” everytime?​—Read Psalm 15:1, 2.

5. Which way Satan de use deceive people today?

⁵ Apostle Paul know say we fit fight and win Satan, na e make e talk say: “So that Satan no go use sense fool us, because we know all the style wey e de use.” (2 Cor. 2:11; ftn.) We know say na Satan de control the whole world. E de control fake religion and politics. No wonder corruption plenty for politics today. Satan still de control business for this world. Na e make people de only think about how to get money. (1 John 5:19) So e no surprise us say Satan and e demons de use people for high position to “talk lie.” (1 Tim. 4:1, 2) We de see this one clear for some of the business wey people de do. Them de lie for advertisement to sell fake things, and deceive people to collect their money.

6, 7. (a) Why e be say na serious bad thing as leaders of religion de lie? (b) Which lie you don hear leaders of religion de teach?

⁶ Na serious bad thing for leaders of religion to de teach lie. The reason na because, if person believe their lie e go affect e life for front. And if the person de do things wey God hate, e no go get everlasting life. (Hos. 4:9) Jesus know say leaders for religion for e time de deceive people. So e tell them say: “Trouble for wuna, scribes and Pharisees, pretenders! Wuna de travel for sea and for land to convert person. And when the person convert finish wuna go make the person enter Gehenna two times pass wuna.” This one mean say the person no get hope to live forever. (Matt. 23:15; ftn.) Jesus really condemn those lie-lie leaders for religion. E say ‘na Devil be their papa, and na killer.’​—John 8:44.

⁷ Plenty leaders for religion dey today too. They fit de call them pastor, priest, rabbi, swami or any other title according to the religion wey them dey. Just like the lie-lie leaders for Jesus time, this leaders de hide the truth from God’s Word, and de change the truth of God’s Word with lie. (Rom. 1:18, 25) Them de make people believe different-different lie. For example, them de teach people say “once saved, always saved,” people get soul wey e no fit die, if person die they go born-am again, and one nonsense idea say God  support make man marry man and make woman marry woman.

8. Which lie politicians go soon talk one day, but wetin we go do?

⁸ Politicians don use lie deceive people. One of the biggest lie still dey for front. Leaders for politics go talk say they don bring ‘peace and fear no dey!’ But “na that time their destruction go just come quick-quick.” Make we no allow them deceive us with their lie-lie sotey we no come know how this world don bad reach. The truth be say, we “really know say the day of Jehovah go come just as thief de come for night.”​—1 Thess. 5:1-4.

⁹ When something just come out new and the thing dey popular, them de produce-am plenty. Na so lie still be. To talk lie na common thing today, and no be only people wey get position for community de deceive people. One man wey e name na Y. Bhattacharjee write for e book wey be “Why We Lie” say, “lie don become part of human being character.” People de normally talk lie to protect theirself or to promote theirself. They still de lie to cover the mistake wey they don do, to gain more money or other things for theirself. That topic still talk say, some people no de “shame to lie, them de lie for small and big things, de lie to strangers, friends, workmates, and family members.”

¹⁰ Wetin be the result of all this lie? E don make people no trust each other again, and e don make family members scatter. For example, think how bad e go be when wife go sleep with another man and lie to cover for the bad thing wey e do. Or when husband treat e wife and children anyhow for house, but for outside e de pretend to be the best husband and father for the whole world. ¹¹ For apostle their time, Bible tell us one example of husband and wife wey Satan cause them to talk lie. Their name na Ananias and Sapphira. They plan for their heart to deceive the apostles. They sell some of their property, but they no bring all the money to the apostles. They want make people for the congregation think say them de contribute more than everybody. But, Jehovah see wetin they do, and e punish them.​—Acts 5:1-10.

12. Which place wicked liars wey they no gree repent go end, and why?

¹² How Jehovah de feel about people wey them de talk lie? Satan and all the wicked liars wey de follow e example and they no gree repent, all of them go end up for the “lake of fire.” (Rev. 20:10; 21:8; Ps. 5:6) Why? The reason na because Jehovah de see this liars the same as “people wey the bad things wey them de do de smell to God.”​—Rev. 22:15, ftn.

13. Wetin we know about Jehovah, and wetin that one go move us to do?

¹⁵ What if you be young person and you want make other young people like you? Make you make sure say you no ever live double life like some other young people. When them dey around their family people and people for congregation, them de pretend to get good character. But them dey different well-well for Internet and when them dey around young people wey they no de serve Jehovah. They fit de talk bad things, de wear clothes wey e no good for Christian, de listen to bad music, de smoke and drink anyhow, de hide get boyfriend or girlfriend, and de do other bad things. Them de live life of lie-lie. Them de lie to their papa and mama, brothers and sisters for congregation, and to Jehovah. 16. How we suppose to answer questions when we de fill form for special full-time service?

¹⁶ You go need to fill form if you want be regular pioneer or you want enter special full-time service, maybe for Bethel. Questions dey the form about your health, the kind things wey you de watch or listen to, and your character. When you de fill-am, e dey important make  everything wey you talk be true. (Heb. 13:18) But what if you don do something wey Jehovah hate or something wey e de trouble your conscience and you never tell the elders? Go meet them make they help you so that you go fit serve Jehovah with clean conscience.​—Rom. 9:1; Gal. 6:1.

17. Wetin we go do when people wey they no like our work de ask us question about our brothers?

¹⁷ For example, wetin you go do if government stop our work for the place wey you de stay and they call you to ask you questions about our brothers? You go tell them everything wey you know? When governor for Rome ask Jesus questions, wetin Jesus do? Sometimes Jesus no talk anything at all! Wetin dey inside Bible na e guide Jesus. Bible talk say: “Time dey to keep quiet and time dey to talk.” (Eccl. 3:1, 7; Matt. 27:11-14) If we dey that kind condition, e go better make we use our sense so that we no go put our brothers for trouble.​—Prov. 10:19; 11:12.

18. Wetin we go do if elders ask us questions about our brothers and sisters for congregation?

¹⁸ What if person for congregation put hand for serious sin and you know about-am? Elders for congregation de do their work to make sure say congregation dey clean. So they fit ask you things wey you know about the matter. Wetin you go do, especially if the person na your tight friend or your family member? Bible talk say: “The person wey e de talk wetin e see for the correct way, go talk the truth.” (Prov. 12:17; 21:28) So na you suppose to tell the elders the whole truth, no be just half truth. And make you no change the way the matter happen. The elders get the right to know everything wey e happen. This one go help them know the way to help the person get good friendship with Jehovah again.​—Jas. 5:14, 15.
