De Teach the Truth Well

De Teach the Truth Well

“O Jehovah, . . . everything wey you talk na truth.”—PS. 119:159, 160.

SONG: 29, 53

1, 2. (a) Which work Jesus make the number one work for life, and why? (b) Wetin we must do if we want succeed to “work with God”?

JESUS CHRIST na carpenter and na workman for God when e dey this earth. (Mark 6:3; Rom. 15:8) E learn how to do the two work well. As carpenter, e learn how to make fine things from wood with the things wey them de use do the work. As Bible teacher, e help common people understand the truth for Bible. E fit do this one because e sabi Bible well-well. (Matt. 7:28; Luke 24:32, 45) When Jesus reach 30 years, e stop to do carpenter work. E know say na to do God’s work dey important pass. E talk say one reason why God say make e come this earth na to preach the good news about the Kingdom. (Matt. 20:28; Luke 3:23; 4:43) Jesus make the preaching work the number one thing for e life. And e want make other people join for this work.—Matt. 9:35-38.

2 We fit no be carpenter, but all of us de preach and teach people God’s Word. This work wey we de do dey important well-well sotey God’s hand dey for the work. No wonder Bible talk say “we de work with God.” (1 Cor. 3:9; 2 Cor. 6:4) We agree with the thing wey Bible talk when e say: “Everything wey [Jehovah] talk na truth.” (Ps. 119:159, 160) So because of this one, we want make sure say we “use God’s word of truth for correct way” when we de preach. (Read 2 Timothy 2:15.) The main thing wey we de use teach people the truth about Jehovah, Jesus, and the Kingdom na Bible. So make the way we de use Bible for our preaching de better more-more. Jehovah’s organization don give us other things, or tools so that we fit de do fine for the preaching work. We need to sabi use this tools. This tools dey inside where we de call Teaching Toolbox.

3. For the small time wey we still get to preach, wetin be the main thing wey we suppose to put for mind? And how Acts 13:48 de help us to fit do-am?

3 You fit wonder why we de call-am Teaching Toolbox and no be Preaching Toolbox. The reason be say to “preach” mean to tell people message. But to “teach” mean to explain the message make e reach person mind and heart, so that e go fit do the thing wey e learn. Small time, this world go end. So the main thing wey we go put for mind na to start Bible study and teach people the truth. This one mean say we go try our best to look for people wey they “want get everlasting life.” And we go help them make they begin serve Jehovah.—Read Acts 13:44-48.

4. How we fit know people wey they “want get everlasting life,” and how we fit find them?

4 How we fit know people wey they “want get everlasting life”? As e be for time of the apostles, the only way to find this kind people na to go preach. So, we need to do the thing wey Jesus tell us when e talk say: “Any town or village wey wuna enter, make wuna find person wey e dey ready to listen.” (Matt. 10:11) People fit no want hear our message, they fit dey proud, or they no want learn about God. So we no go expect this kind people to listen to the good news. We de find people wey they really want hear the message, people wey them dey humble, and the truth de hungry them. We fit compare our work to find people with the thing wey Jesus do as carpenter. E fit be say Jesus need to find the correct wood to make furniture, door, yoke, or other things. Once e see the correct wood wey e want use, e fit carry other things wey e need to fit do the work, or toolbox. And e go still use wetin e don learn as carpenter to make the thing wey e want make. People want learn the truth. So we must try to do the same thing to help them become disciples.—Matt. 28:19, 20.

5. Wetin we need to know about the tools wey we get for our Teaching Toolbox? Give example. (Check the first picture.)

5 Each of the tool for inside any toolbox get the work wey them de use-am do. For example, which things, or tools, you think say go dey for the one wey Jesus use do work of carpenter? * E go need wetin e go use measure, mark, cut, put hole, and shape the wood. E go still need tool to level, plumb, and join the wood together. For the same way, each tool for our Teaching Toolbox get e own work. So make we learn how we fit use this important tools wey Jehovah’s organization don give us.

TOOLS TO TELL PEOPLE ABOUT US

6, 7. (a) How you don use the contact card? (b) Which two things the congregation meeting invitation de do?

6 Contact Cards. This tools dey small but them de work fine. We fit use them tell people about who we be and direct them go our website. For our website, they fit learn more about us and even talk say they want Bible study. E don pass 400,000 people for jw.org wey they talk say they want Bible study. And everyday, plenty other people de talk say they want Bible study! You fit carry some of this cards with you so that you fit use them talk to people, as you de do other things for the day.

7 Invitations. People de call-am congregation meeting invitation, and na two things e de do. The card de tell people say they fit study Bible with Jehovah Witness. Then e talk say they fit study with us for our public meeting or person fit come de study with them. So, this tool no de only tell people about us. For people wey they “need God for their life,” this card still de tell them say they fit study Bible with us. (Matt. 5:3) But people fit come our meeting whether they want Bible study or they no want. If they come our meeting, they go see and hear plenty things wey we go tell them from Bible.

8. Why e dey important make people come even if na one of our meeting? Give example.

8 E dey important make we continue to invite people come our meeting, even if na one time. Why? They go see say we dey different from Babylon the Great well-well. We de teach people the truth and help them know God, but no be so with Babylon the Great. (Isa. 65:13) For example, one husband and wife for United States notice something some years ago. Their name na Ray and Linda. They decide say they want begin de go church. They believe say God dey, and they want learn more about God. So they begin go all the church for their city one by one. The church for their city plenty well-well. When this husband and wife start, they get two things for mind before they go join any church. The first one be say, they go learn something for the church service. Then the second one be say, the members for the church must be like people wey them de serve God. After some years, they don go all the church for the city. But they no see the thing wey them de find. They no learn anything, and the church members no dress like Christian at all. After they go the last church for their list, the wife go work, and the husband go house. As the man de go for road, e drive pass Kingdom Hall. So e tell e self say, ‘Why you no go inside make you see wetin de happen for there.’ The truth be say, e see wetin e never see before! Everybody for the Kingdom Hall behave well, they welcome Ray well, and they dress fine. Ray sit-down for the front and e really like the things wey e learn! E just be like the thing wey apostle Paul talk about person wey e come Christian meeting for the first time and talk say: “God dey with wuna true-true.” (1 Cor. 14:23-25) After that one, Ray begin de go meeting every Sunday. Then after, e begin go every midweek meeting. Linda too begin go meeting. And even though say them dey around 70 years, they begin study Bible and they baptize.

TOOLS TO HELP US START DISCUSSION WITH PEOPLE

9, 10. (a) Why e dey easy to use the tracts? (b) Explain how to use the tract wey the name na Wetin Be the Kingdom of God?

9 Tracts. We get eight tracts for our toolbox. This tracts dey easy to use, and e de work fine to use them start discussion. We start to release this tracts for 2013. And since that time, we don print about five billion copy! The fine thing be say all this tracts get the same pattern. So when you learn how to use one of them, you go sabi use all of them. How you fit use tract try to start discussion with person?

10 You fit like to use the tract wey the name na Wetin Be the Kingdom of God? If you want use-am, show the person the question for front of the tract. As you de show the person, ask say: “You don ever think about wetin the Kingdom of God be? You go talk say . . . ?” Then ask which of the three answer e go choose. Instead of you to talk whether the person answer dey correct or e no correct, open the place for inside the tract wey e talk say “See Wetin Bible Talk.” Then make you read Daniel 2:44 and Isaiah 9:6 for there. If e dey possible, make you continue the discussion. For the end of your discussion, make you ask this question for the back of the tract under the topic “Think About This Question”: “How life go be for paradise, when the Kingdom don come?” Wuna go answer that question for your next visit. And when you see the person again, wuna fit talk about lesson 7 for the brochure God Get Good News For You! This brochure na one of the tools wey we de use start Bible study.

TOOLS TO MAKE PEOPLE BEGIN GET FAITH FOR BIBLE

11. Which work our magazines fit do because of how we make them, but wetin we need to know about them?

11 Magazines. For the whole world, na The Watchtower and Awake! magazine they don print and translate pass any other magazine! Plenty people for different part of the world de read-am. So we de choose the topic for the cover wey people for everywhere fit like. Make we use them to make people begin like the thing wey e really dey important for life today. But we need to know the kind of people wey we write this magazines for so that e go fit reach their hand.

12. (a) Who we write Awake! for, and wetin be e work? (b) Which better result you just get as you de use this tool?

12 We write Awake! for people wey they sabi Bible small or they no sabi at all. They fit no know anything about wetin Bible say make Christians do, they fit no trust religion like that, or they fit no know say Bible fit help them for their life. One main thing wey Awake! de do na to make people believe say God dey. (Rom. 1:20; Heb. 11:6) And e de try help people “believe-am say” Bible “na the word of God.” (1 Thess. 2:13) The three different topic for the cover for 2018 Awake! na: “The Way of Happiness,” “12 Secrets of Successful Families,” and “Help for Those Who Grieve.”

13. (a) The Watchtower wey we de give people for preaching, who we write-am for? (b) Which better experience you just get as you de use this tool?

13 The Watchtower wey we de give people for preaching na for people wey they get some respect for God and Bible. Na the main reason why we write-am be that. This people fit know some things for Bible, but the way they understand Bible no dey correct. (Rom. 10:2; 1 Tim. 2:3, 4) The three different topic for the cover for 2018 answer this questions: “Is the Bible Still Relevant Today?,” “What Does the Future Hold?,” and “Does God Care About You?

TOOLS WEY DE MOVE PEOPLE

14. (a) Which work the four videos for our Teaching Toolbox de do? (b) Which fine experience you don get when you show people this videos?

14 Videos. When Jesus dey this earth, na only hand tools carpenter de use. But for our time, the tools wey carpenter de work with still de use electric. Tools like saw, drill, sander, nailer, and other tools. Apart from the books wey we de print, we don get fine-fine videos wey we de show people. Four of this video dey our toolbox, and they be: Why E Good Make We Study Bible?, How We De Help People Make Them Study Bible, Wetin De Happen for Kingdom Hall?, and Jehovah’s Witnesses—Who Are We? The videos wey they no reach two minutes de work well when we see people the first time. The ones wey they pass two minutes dey good for our return visit and people wey they get more time. All this fine tools fit move people to study Bible and come our meeting.

15. Give example to show how people de feel when they watch our video for their own language.

15 For example, one sister meet one woman wey come from Micronesia, wey de speak Yapese language. The sister show the woman the video Why E Good Make We Study Bible? for e language. When the video start to play, the woman talk say: “Ha! Na my language be this. I no fit believe wetin I de hear! From the way this person de talk, e really dey clear say e come from my place. E de speak my language!” After, the woman say e go read and watch everything for e language for jw.org. (Compare Acts 2:8, 11.) See another experience. One sister for United States send the link of that same video to e brother pikin. This e brother pikin dey for another country, but our sister send the link for the person own language. E watch the video and send our sister e-mail say: “That part wey talk say na one wicked person de control the world really touch me. Then I arrange say I want study Bible.” One fine thing about this story be say, this person de live for country wey they ban our work!

TOOLS TO TEACH THE TRUTH

16. Explain why we make each of this brochure: (a) Listen to God and Live Forever. (b) God Get Good News For You! (c) Who Are Doing Jehovah’s Will Today?

16 Brochures. Person fit no sabi read well or e fit no get any of our book for e language. How you fit teach this kind person the truth? We get the tool wey fit help you do-am. Na the brochure, Listen to God and Live Forever. * Another one still dey wey you fit use start Bible study. Na the brochure God Get Good News For You! You fit show person the 14 topic wey dey the back, and allow the person to choose the one wey e like pass. Then, start Bible study for the topic wey e choose. You don try this method for your return visit? Who Are Doing Jehovah’s Will Today? na the third brochure for our toolbox. We make the brochure to direct Bible students to Jehovah’s organization. If you want learn how you fit use-am for each Bible study, make you check Our Christian Life and Preaching—Meeting Workbook for March 2017.

17. (a) Why we make each of the book wey we de use study people? (b) Wetin new ones go still do even if they don baptize, and why?

17 Books. After you don start Bible study with brochure, you fit change to the book What Can the Bible Teach Us? anytime. This tool go help the person know and understand the important things wey Bible de teach. When the person don study the book finish and de do well, make you continue the study for the book How to Remain in God’s Love. This tool go teach the Bible student how to do the things wey e de learn from Bible for e life everyday. Remember say, you still need to study with new ones even after they don baptize. They must finish the two books. Na this one go help them get strong foundation for the truth.—Read Colossians 2:6, 7.

18. (a) As people wey de teach the truth, wetin 1 Timothy 4:16 encourage us to do, and wetin go be the result? (b) As we de use the Teaching Toolbox, wetin we suppose put for mind?

18 As Jehovah Witness people, God don give us the work to tell people “the message of the truth wey be the good news.” This message fit give people everlasting life. (Col. 1:5; read 1 Timothy 4:16.) So to help us do this work, they don give us Teaching Toolbox, and the things wey we need dey inside. (Check “ Teaching Toolbox.”) Make we try to use this tools well as we fit. When person show interest, na each publisher fit decide the publication for the toolbox wey e go give the person, and when e go give-am. But the main target no be to give our book to people. And we no de give our book to people wey they no like our message. So wetin we go put for mind? We want make disciple of people wey dey humble, people wey they want listen, and e de hungry them to learn about God. True-true, na this kind people “want get everlasting life.”—Acts 13:48; Matt. 28:19, 20.
