“I Go Waka for Inside Your Truth”

“I Go Waka for Inside Your Truth”

“Teach me about your way, O Jehovah. I go waka for inside your truth.”—PS. 86:11.

SONGS: 31, 72

1-3. (a) How we suppose feel about the truth from Bible? Give example. (Check the first picture.) (b) Which questions we go talk about for this topic?

FOR person to return something wey e buy na common thing today. Report show say for some country, many people de return some of the things wey they buy from stores. But na the things wey they order for internet them de return pass. E fit be say the person wey buy the thing notice say no be wetin e want be that, the thing no get good quality or e no just like-am. So e decide to exchange-am or collect e money back.

2 Even if we fit return something wey we buy and collect our money back, we no go ever want return or “sell,” the “correct truth” from Bible wey we “buy.” (Read Proverbs 23:23; 1 Tim. 2:4) As we learn from the first topic, we no get the truth just like that, we spend time to learn-am. No be only that one, e fit still be say we leave big work wey e de pay better money, our family and friends reject us, we change our bad thinking and character, and we comot hand from traditions and celebrations wey God hate. But all this things wey we pay no reach the blessing wey we de enjoy.

3 When we talk about the truth from Bible, the way we de feel na the same way the man wey Jesus use as example feel. To show how important the truth about God’s Kingdom be to the people wey de find-am, Jesus talk about one business man. The man de travel de find precious stones, until e see one. The stone get high value sotey, e “sell all the things wey e get quick-quick” and buy-am. (Matt. 13:45, 46) Na so e still be with the truth wey we learn. The truth about God’s Kingdom and all other precious truths wey we learn from Bible. This truths get high value sotey we quickly make any change wey we need to make to get-am. We no go “ever sell the truth” because we value-am. But the sad thing be say, some of God’s people no value the truth again, and they even sell-am. Make that one no ever happen to us! To show say we really value the truth and say we no go ever sell-am, we must do wetin Bible talk, to “continue to waka for truth.” (Read 3 John 2-4.) To waka for the truth mean say we go see the truth as number one thing for our life, and we go show-am for the way we de live our life. Make we talk about this questions: Why and how some people fit “sell” the truth? Wetin go help us so that we no go do the same mistake? How we fit make our mind strong and decide say we go continue to “waka for the truth”?

WHY AND HOW SOME PEOPLE “SELL” THE TRUTH

4. For apostles their time, why some people “sell” the truth?

4 For apostles their time, some people wey learn the truth no continue to waka for truth. For example, when Jesus do miracle to feed many people, the people follow Jesus to the other side of the sea of Galilee. For there, Jesus talk something wey shock them. E say: “If wuna no drink the blood of the Son of man and eat e flesh, wuna no go ever get life.” Instead of them to ask Jesus to explain wetin e mean, they vex and talk say wetin Jesus talk “no be better talk,” and e no good to hear at all. Because of this one, ‘plenty of e disciples go back, and begin live their former life. They no gree follow Jesus again.’—John 6:53-66.

5, 6. (a) Today, why some people stop to hold the truth tight? (b) How person fit de leave the truth small-small?

5 The sad thing be say, today some people don stop to hold the truth tight. Some people draw comot because we change the way we understand some Bible verse. Or maybe because of something wey one elder talk or do. Some people vex because of the advice wey person give them from Bible or they get problem with person for congregation. Or maybe some start to support false teaching from apostates and some people wey dey against our belief. So because of this things some decide to “draw comot” from Jehovah and the congregation. (Heb. 3:12-14) E go better if to say they continue to get faith and trust Jesus like apostle Peter. When Jesus ask the apostles if they want go too, Peter answer quick-quick say: “Lord, who we want go meet? Your talk de give everlasting life.”—John 6:67-69.

6 Other people leave the truth small-small, and maybe they no even notice wetin de happen to them. This kind person be like boat wey de shift comot small-small from the side of river. Bible describe this kind slow change as something wey e de “shift comot.” (Heb. 2:1) Person wey e draw comot decide to do so for e heart. But person wey e shift comot no decide-am for e heart, na small-small e happen. But the truth be say, this person wey shift comot don start to do things wey e de affect e friendship with Jehovah, and this one fit make the person no get faith again. Wetin go help us so that this kind bad thing no go happen to us?

WETIN WE GO DO SO THAT WE NO GO EVER SELL THE TRUTH?

7. Wetin go help us make we no ever sell the truth?

7 To waka for the truth, we must accept and obey everything wey Jehovah talk. We must see the truth as number one thing for our life, and live our life as Bible want-am. King David talk for e prayer to Jehovah say: “I go waka for your truth.” (Ps. 86:11) David really make up e mind to waka for the truth. We too must dey ready and make up our mind to continue to waka for the truth wey God don teach us. If we no dey ready and make up our mind, we fit start to regret or think about all the things wey we pay to buy the truth. And if we no dey careful, we fit want start to collect back the things wey we pay. Instead, make we hold all the truth tight. We no fit choose which truth we go accept and which one we no go accept. We must waka for “all the truth.” (John 16:13) Make we talk about five things wey we pay to buy the truth. If we think about this things well, they go give us strong mind to continue to waka for truth. And we no go ever think say we want collect back anything wey we don pay to buy the truth.—Matt. 6:19.

8. If Christian no de use e time well, how this one fit make that Christian de shift comot small-small from the truth? Give example.

Time. So that we no go shift comot small-small from the truth, we must use our time well with sense. Na so because if we no dey careful, we fit start to spend too much time de browse for Internet and de watch film. Or de do other things wey we de always do with our free time to relax or enjoy our life. The truth be say this things no bad, but na the time wey we spend to do them matter. We fit start to use the time wey we de use do our personal study or time wey we de use serve Jehovah. Make we see wetin happen to one Christian sister wey e name na Grace. * E like to ride horse well-well from when e dey young. Anytime wey e get chance, e go use-am go ride horse. But after some time, e start to feel bad for all the time wey e dey spend to ride horse. E try to change, e make time for everything, and e succeed. The experience of one sister wey e name na Cory Wells still help Grace. Corry na professional horse rider before. * Now, Grace de enjoy as e de spend more time to do God work and with Christian family and friends. E feel say e near Jehovah now pass before. E get peace of mind now as e know say e de use e time well with sense.

9. If person de gather money and property, how love for this things fit make the person abandon things wey concern God?

9 Money and property. If we want continue to waka for inside the truth, we need to change the way we de see money and property. When we learn the truth, money and property no be the number one thing for our life again. We happy say we leave some things or work wey fit de give us better money and even property so that we go fit waka for the truth. As time de go, when we de see other people as them de buy latest electronics or as them de enjoy their money, we fit come de feel say we de miss. The things wey we get fit no dey enough for us again. We fit start to push things wey concern God for corner so that we go fit gather plenty money and property. This one make us remember Demas for Bible. E love “the things of this world” sotey e abandon the work wey e de do with apostle Paul. (2 Tim. 4:10) Wetin make Demas leave Paul? Bible no talk whether e love money and property pass things wey concern God. Or say e no like to serve with Paul. We no want allow the desire to want gather plenty money and property to make our love for the truth weak.

10. If we want continue to waka for the truth, wetin we no go allow make e worry us?

10 Family and friends. If we want continue to waka for the truth, we no go allow make the things wey people talk or do to us worry us. When we start to waka for the truth, our friendship with people wey they no be Witness change, even with our family members. Some of them no disturb us, but some dey against us. (1 Pet. 4:4) We want try as we fit to get good friendship with our family members and treat them well. But we must dey careful so that we no go do wetin Jehovah hate because we want please them. We go still de try to be friends with them, but as 1 Corinthians 15:33 talk-am, na only people wey them de serve Jehovah we go make our tight friends.

11. Wetin go help us so that we no go do wetin Bible condemn?

11 Bad thinking and character. All the people wey them de waka for the truth must dey holy. (Isa. 35:8; read 1 Peter 1:14-16.) When we de learn the truth, all of us change some things for our life so that we go fit live the kind life wey God want. Some people make big change for their life. No matter the change wey we make, make we no ever exchange this our pure and holy condition with the dirty life of this world. Wetin go help us so that we no go fall for the kind dirty life wey people for the world de live? Na to think well about the high price wey Jehovah pay to make us holy. E use the precious blood of e Son, Jesus Christ. (1 Pet. 1:18, 19) To remain holy for the eyes of God, we need to always think about and remember the value of Jesus blood as e die for us, and see-am as number one thing for our life.

12, 13. (a) Why e dey important to see traditions and celebrations the way Jehovah de see-am? (b) Wetin we go talk about next?

12 Traditions and celebrations wey God hate. Our family members, workmates and schoolmates fit try to worry us to join them for their celebrations. Wetin we fit do so that we no go join them do traditions and celebrations wey e no honor Jehovah? One thing wey go help us na to always de remember how Jehovah de feel about this traditions. Check some things wey we print for our publications about how the holiday start. This one go help you well-well. When we de remind ourself say we no de celebrate this holiday because e no dey for Bible, we go de get strong mind more-more say we de waka for the way wey “the Lord want.” (Eph. 5:10) When we trust Jehovah and e Word of truth, e go protect us from “fear of men.”—Prov. 29:25.

13 To waka for truth na wetin we go continue to de do, and we hope say we go waka for this road forever. Wetin go help us get strong mind to continue to waka for the truth? Make we talk about three things wey go help us.

DECIDE SAY YOU GO CONTINUE TO WAKA FOR THE TRUTH

14. (a) If we continue to buy the truth, how e go give us strong mind make we no ever sell-am? (b) Why sense, correction, and understanding dey important?

14 One, continue to study the precious truth of God’s Word and think deep about wetin you learn. Always make time to learn this precious truth of God’s Word. This one go show say you de buy the truth. The more you de study the more you go de like the truth, and this one go give you strong mind to decide say you no go ever sell-am. Proverbs 23:23 talk say make we still buy “sense, correction and understanding.” Just to know the truth no dey enough. We must use the truth for our life. Understanding go help us gather all the things wey Jehovah de tell us, and how all the things connect together. When we do the things wey we know, e go show say we get sense. Sometimes, the truth de correct us, and show us things wey we need to change. Make we always dey ready to accept this correction because e get value pass silver.—Prov. 8:10.

15. How the belt of truth de protect us?

15 Two, really make up your mind say the truth go show for the way you de live your life everyday. Wear the belt of truth round your waist. (Eph. 6:14) For Bible time, belt wey soldier de wear de support and protect e waist and inside e body. But the belt must dey tight, because e no go fit support or protect the soldier well if e dey loose. How our belt of truth de protect us? If we tie-am tight for our waist, the truth go protect us from bad thinking and help us make good decision. When we dey for trial, truth from Bible go give us strong mind and we go make up our mind to continue to do wetin dey right. Just as soldier no go ever go fight without e belt, na so we too go decide say we no go ever allow our belt of truth to comot or slack for our waist. Instead, make we do everything wey we fit do to tie-am tight. Make we allow the truth show for the way we de live our life everyday. Another thing wey the belt de do for the soldier be say e de help to keep e sword. Make we talk about another thing wey go help us get strong mind to continue to waka for the truth.

16. As we de teach other people the truth, how e de give us strong mind to continue to waka for the truth?

16 Three, try your best as you fit, to teach the truth to others. This one go show say you really hold “God’s word” wey be like sword, tight. (Eph. 6:17) All of us fit work hard to be better teacher, so that we go de “use God’s word of truth for the correct way.” (2 Tim. 2:15) As we de use Bible help other people to buy the truth so that they go comot hand from lie-lie, we de plant God’s word for our heart and mind. This one go give us strong mind, and help us continue to waka for the truth.

17. Why the truth dey important to you?

17 The truth na precious gift from Jehovah. Na this gift make us get correct friendship with Jehovah our Papa for heaven, and this gift na the number one thing for our life. The things wey Jehovah don teach us from the start till now na just the beginning! E don promise say e go add to the truth wey e don teach us, and e go teach us forever. So make you value the truth like precious stone wey get high value. Continue to “buy the truth and make you no ever sell-am.” Then, like David, we go fit do wetin e promise Jehovah when e say: “I go waka for your truth.”—Ps. 86:11.
