De Help People Just Like Jesus

De Help People Just Like Jesus

“Na when person give, e go dey happy pass when e receive.”—ACTS 20:35.

SONG 17 “De Help Them”

WETIN WE GO LEARN? *

1. Which better character servants of Jehovah de show?

LONG time ago, Bible talk say servants of God go “ready to support” e work “with all their heart” as them de follow the direction wey Jesus de give. (Ps. 110:3) The thing wey that Bible verse talk de really happen today. Every year, servants of Jehovah de put all their heart for the preaching work as them de spend millions of hours de do-am. They no de pay them for the work, and nobody de force them to do-am. They still de help their brothers and sisters to get the things wey they need to survive, them de encourage them, and de help them to love Jehovah more. Elders and ministerial servants de spend plenty hours de prepare their part for meeting, and them de visit their brothers and sisters to encourage them. Wetin de make us de do all this work? Na because we love Jehovah and we love people.—Matt. 22:37-39.

2. As e dey for Romans 15:1-3, which example Jesus show?

2 Jesus show better example for the way e care about other people pass the way e care about e self. We de try our best to follow e example. (Read Romans 15:1-3.) If we do like Jesus, better things go follow us. Jesus talk say: “Na when person give, e go dey happy pass when e receive.”—Acts 20:35.

3. Wetin we go talk about for this article?

3 For this article, we go talk about some things wey Jesus do to help other people, and we go still talk about how we fit copy e example. And we go still see how we fit dey ready more-more to help other people.

DE DO LIKE JESUS

Even as Jesus don tire, wetin e do when plenty people come meet-am? (Check paragraph 4)

4. How Jesus care for people pass the way e care about e self?

4 Jesus help other people even when e don tire. Think about wetin Jesus do when plenty people go meet Jesus for mountain, and maybe the place near Capernaum. Jesus don use the whole night pray. E go don really tire. But when e see the plenty people, e feel pity for the poor and sick people among them. Jesus no only heal them, but e still give one talk wey them de call Sermon on the Mount. This talk na one of the talk wey really move people pass other talks.—Luke 6:12-20.

Which ways we fit do like Jesus for the way e help people? (Check paragraph 5)

5. How family heads de do like Jesus for the way e show love, even when they don tire?

5 The way family head them de do like Jesus. Think about this example: After one family head don work hard for the day, when e come house, e don over tire. The family head fit want cancel the Family Worship wey they get that evening. But e beg Jehovah for power so that e go fit conduct the study. Jehovah answer e prayer, and e conduct the Family Worship as e de do every week. The children learn one important lesson that evening, and na say, na to worship Jehovah be the number one important thing for their papa and mama.

6. Give one example about how Jesus use the time wey e suppose use for e self to help other people.

6 Jesus use e time help people, even when e need-am for e self. How you think say Jesus go don feel when e hear say they don kill e friend wey be John the Baptizer? This one go don pain Jesus reach bone. Bible talk say: “As Jesus hear [say John don die], e enter boat and comot for there go one quiet place to dey alone.” (Matt. 14:10-13) We fit understand why Jesus be want dey alone. Some people like to dey alone when them de feel pain because of their person wey die. But this one no dey possible for Jesus. Plenty people don reach the quiet place wey e de go, before e reach there. So wetin Jesus do? E think about the things wey the people need and e “feel pity” for them. Jesus notice say they really need help and comfort from God. So quick-quick, e start to help them. The truth na say “e start to teach them [no be small things, but] many things.”—Mark 6:31-34; Luke 9:10, 11.

7-8. Give one example to show how better elders de do like Jesus when person need help for congregation.

7 The way better elders de do like Jesus. We really dey happy for the work wey our elders de do for us as they no de think about only theirself! Plenty brothers and sisters for congregation no know about all the work wey the elders de do. For example, when brother or sister need help quick-quick for matter wey concern health, the brothers wey de work with Hospital Liaison Committee no de waste time to go help the person. Plenty times, this kind thing de happen for night. But because this dear elders want really help their brother or sister wey dey problem, them and their families de think about their brothers and sisters before they think about theirself.

8 Elders still de help de build Kingdom Halls and other building them wey we de use. And them de go help brothers and sisters wey things like heavy rain scatter their property. And elders de spend plenty time de teach, encourage, and support us. We really need to thank all this brothers and their family for the things wey them de do. Make Jehovah bless the better character wey this brothers de show! But the truth na say, like every other person, make elders de use sense for their work. Make they no de over spend time for congregation work sotey they no go get time to care for their family.

HOW WE FIT LEARN TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE?

9. As e dey for Philippians 2:4, 5, which kind mind all Christians suppose get?

9 Read Philippians 2:4, 5. True-true, no be all of us be elder, but all of us fit be like Jesus and do things for other people before ourself. Bible talk say Jesus do like “slave.” (Phil. 2:7) Think about wetin that one mean. Better slave or servant go look for ways to make e master glad. Because we be slave of Jehovah and we de serve, or help our brothers, we want do more for Jehovah and for our brothers. The things wey we go talk about now, fit help you do that one.

10. Which questions we fit ask ourself?

10 Check your character well. Ask yourself this kind questions: ‘I dey ready to use my time and power help other people? For example, wetin I go do if they tell me say make I visit one old brother wey de live for place wey them de care for old people, or to carry one old sister de go meeting? I dey ready to help when they need people to clean convention ground or to maintain Kingdom Hall?’ When we give our life to Jehovah, we promise say we go use everything wey we get for e worship. E want make we use our time, power, and property to help people. So, e de glad when we do that one before we begin think about ourself. If we see say we need to do more, wetin we fit do?

11. How prayer fit help us to dey ready more-more to help people?

11 Pray to Jehovah from your heart. Maybe you see say you need to do more for the way you de help other people, but your heart never move you to do like that. If na so, make you pray to Jehovah from your heart. Tell yourself the truth. Tell Jehovah how you de feel, and beg-am to move you and give you the power to do wetin you want do.—Phil. 2:13.

12. How young brothers wey don baptize fit help the organization?

12 If you be young brother and you don baptize, beg Jehovah make e help you to want do more so that you go fit help the brothers and sisters for your congregation. For some countries, elders plenty pass ministerial servants, and plenty of the ministerial servants no young. As Jehovah organization de grow, we need more young brothers to help care for the brothers and sisters for congregation. If you dey ready to work for any place wey they need you, you go dey happy. Why? Because you go make Jehovah glad, the brothers and sisters go see say you dey ready to help people, and you go dey happy say you fit help people.

Christians for Judea run from there and they cross Jordan River go the city of Pella. Some of the Christians wey don reach the city before, de share food for other Christians wey just come (Check paragraph 13)

13-14. Which things we fit do to help our brothers and sisters? (Check picture for front cover.)

13 Dey quick to notice when person need help. Apostle Paul tell Christians for Judea say: “Make wuna no forget to do good and de share wetin wuna get with other people, because this kind thing de really make God happy.” (Heb. 13:16) That one na better advice! Small time after this Christians receive the letter, they leave their house, their business, and their family members wey no be Christian, and they “begin run go the mountains.” (Matt. 24:16) That time, e really dey important for them to help each other. If before that time they don de follow the advice wey Paul give, when e say make them de share wetin they get with each other, e go dey more easy for them to manage the small things wey they get for their new place.

14 No be everytime our brothers and sisters fit de tell us say they need something. For example, the wife of one brother fit don die. Our brother need help for food, for transportation, or for house work? E fit no talk anything because e fit de feel say e de disturb us. But e fit really like-am if we help, even before e talk say e need help. We no suppose think say another person go help the brother when e need help, or say e go always tell us anytime wey e need help. Ask yourself say, ‘If na me dey this kind condition, wetin I for like make people help me do?’

15. Wetin we need to do if we want help other people?

15 Make-am dey easy for people to meet you for help. True-true, you know brothers and sisters for your congregation wey always dey ready to help people. They no de ever make us feel say we de disturb them. We know say they always dey ready to help us and we go like to be like them. One elder wey e name na Alan and wey don pass 40 years, want make other people dey free to come meet-am for help. Alan talk about the example wey Jesus show, say: “Jesus dey busy, but young and old people like to come near Jesus, and they no fear to ask for help. They see Jesus as person wey really care about them. I really want be like Jesus, and I want make people know me as person wey they fit come meet anytime for help, person wey love them, and de care about them.”

16. When we de follow wetin dey Psalm 119:59, 60, how this one fit help us de do like Jesus more-more?

16 Make e no tire us if we make mistake as we de try to do like Jesus. (Jas. 3:2) If student de learn work from e master, the student go make mistake. But as e de learn from e mistakes and de try to do like e master well, as e fit, e hand go de strong for the work small-small. For the same way, if we de use wetin we learn from our Bible study, and we de do our best to correct any mistake wey we make, we go fit de follow the example wey Jesus show us.—Read Psalm 119:59, 60.

WETIN WE GO GAIN WHEN WE DE HELP PEOPLE?

Like Jesus, when elders de think of how to help other people before theirself, them de show better example for young people to follow (Check paragraph 17) *

17-18. Like Jesus, as we de help other people, which things we go gain?

17 When people see say we always dey ready to help other people, this one go move them to want do like that too. One elder wey e name na Tim talk say: “Some brothers wey really dey young don be ministerial servants. One reason na because they see how other people always dey ready to help, and they want be like them too. This young brothers help our congregation and they support the elders more.”

18 Plenty people for the world today de think only about theirself. But servants of Jehovah no be like that at all. We don learn from the way Jesus care about other people before e self, and we don tell ourself say we go follow e example. The truth na say, we no go fit copy e example make we no make mistake. But, we go fit do our best to ‘follow e example well.’ (1 Pet. 2:21) Like Jesus, as we de do our best to help people, we go dey happy because we de do wetin Jehovah like.

SONG 13 Follow the Example Wey Jesus Set

^ par. 5 Jesus de always care about other people pass the way e care about e self. For this article, we go talk about some ways wey we fit do like Jesus. We go still talk about the things wey we go gain when we try to be like Jesus.

^ par. 57 OTHER THINGS ABOUT THE PICTURE: One young brother wey e name na Dan, see as two elders visit e papa for hospital. The fine example wey this two elders show really touch Dan no be small. This one still move Dan to look for ways wey e go help other people for congregation. Another young brother wey e name na Ben, notice how Dan de care for other people. The example wey Dan show, make Ben to help clean Kingdom Hall.
