1. Wetin Jehovah promise sinners wey don repent?

 EVEN though say na Jehovah make us, de give us law, and na our Judge, e still be our Papa for heaven wey love us. (Ps. 100:3; Isa. 33:22) When we sin against Jehovah and we really repent, Jehovah get the power to forgive us and e really want forgive us. (Ps. 86:5) Jehovah use prophet Isaiah tell us for Bible say: “Even if wuna sin be like red color, I go make-am white like snow.”—Isa. 1:18.

2. If we want get peace with other people, wetin we must do?

² Because we no dey perfect, all of us de talk and do things wey fit make other people vex. (Jas. 3:2) But that one no mean say we no fit de do things together well with them. We go fit if we learn to de forgive. (Prov. 17:9; 19:11; Matt. 18:21, 22) If person talk or do something wey no reach anything and wey pain us, Jehovah want make we forgive. (Col. 3:13) Jehovah de “forgive” us with all e heart. So we no get any excuse why we no go forgive other people.—Isa. 55:7.

3. Wetin we go talk about for this article?

³ For this article, we go talk about how we fit de do like Jehovah and forgive other people even though say we no dey perfect. Which sins we go need to tell the elders about? Why Jehovah want make we forgive other people? And wetin we fit learn from some of our brothers and sisters wey don really suffer because of the bad thing wey other people do?

4. (a) When servant of Jehovah put hand for serious sin, wetin e need to do? (b) Wetin the elders go do when them de try to help person wey put hand for serious sin?

⁴ When person put hand for serious sin, e must tell the  elders about the matter. Example of this kind sins dey for 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10. When person put hand for serious sin, this one mean say e don break God law no be small. If person put hand for this kind sin, e must pray to Jehovah for forgiveness and e must tell the elders about the matter. (Ps. 32:5; Jas. 5:14) Wetin the elders go do? Na only Jehovah get the power to forgive sins finish, and e make this one dey possible as e send Jesus to die for us. b But Jehovah don give the elders the work to use Bible check whether the sinner fit still continue to dey the congregation. (1 Cor. 5:12) To fit do this one, one of the things wey they go do na to try find answers to this questions: The person don plan-am before say e go do the bad thing wey e do? E try to hide the sin from other people? E continue to do the bad thing for long time? The one wey dey important pass be say, e don make-am clear say e regret as e sin against Jehovah, and e don show say e want be tight friend with Jehovah again? Anything show say Jehovah don forgive the person?—Acts 3:19.

5. Which gain de come from the work wey elders de do to try help person wey don sin?

⁵ When elders de help the person wey sin, they want make sure say the decision wey they go make na the same one wey they don already make for heaven. (Matt. 18:18) How this one de help the congregation? This one de protect the congregation because they go remove the person wey de sin wey no gree repent, so that e bad character no go affect other people for congregation. (1 Cor. 5:6, 7, 11-13; Titus 3:10, 11) E fit still help the person wey sin to repent so that Jehovah go forgive-am. (Luke 5:32) Elders de pray for person wey repent and beg Jehovah make e help the person be e tight friend again.—Jas. 5:15.

6. If they remove person from congregation, Jehovah go still forgive-am? Explain.

⁶ When elders want help person wey don sin, wetin they go do if the person no repent? They go remove the person from the congregation. If the person do something wey dey against government law, the elders no go protect-am make government no punish-am. Jehovah allow government to judge and punish anybody wey no obey their law, whether the person repent or e no repent. (Rom. 13:4) But if the person repent after, and change e bad ways, Jehovah go forgive-am. (Luke 15:17-24) Even though say the person sin really serious, Jehovah go still forgive-am.—2 Chron. 33:9, 12, 13; 1 Tim. 1:15.

7. Wetin e mean to forgive person wey don sin against us?

⁷ We really happy say no be we de decide whether Jehovah go forgive person wey don sin or e no go forgive-am! But something still dey wey we need to decide. Wetin be that thing? Sometimes, person fit sin against us, e fit even be serious sin, and e come beg us say make we forgive-am. But sometimes, the person fit no beg us. But we fit still decide to forgive-am, that one mean say we no go put wetin e do us for mind, and we no go continue to vex for the person. The truth be say, this one no de easy and e de take time, especially if wetin the person do really pain us. The Watchtower of September 15, 1994, talk  say: “When you forgive the person wey sin, this one no mean say you de support the bad thing wey e do. For person wey de serve Jehovah, to forgive mean say e go leave the matter for Jehovah and trust say e go handle the matter well. Na Jehovah de judge everybody for heaven and earth for correct way, and e go make sure say e handle the matter for correct way when time reach.” Why Jehovah de talk say make we forgive and trust say e go judge the matter for correct way?

8. When we de forgive other people, how that one de show say we really like-am as Jehovah de show us pity?

⁸ When we de forgive, e show say we really like as Jehovah de pity us. For one story wey Jesus talk, e say one slave de owe e master plenty money. But because the slave no fit pay the money back, the master come cancel the money. Na so Jesus talk say Jehovah be too. But that slave no gree show pity to another slave wey owe-am small money. (Matt. 18:23-35) Wetin Jesus de teach us for this story? If we really happy for the way Jehovah de show us pity, this one go move us to forgive other people. (Ps. 103:9) Many years ago, one Watchtower talk say: “No matter how many times we don forgive people wey do wetin we no like, e no go ever reach the one wey Jehovah de forgive us and the pity wey e de show us because of the sacrifice of Jesus.”

9. Na who Jehovah de show pity? (Matthew 6:14, 15)

⁹ If we forgive other people, Jehovah go forgive us. Jehovah de show pity for people wey de show pity. (Matt. 5:7; Jas. 2:13) Jesus make us understand this one when e teach e disciples how to pray. (Read Matthew 6:14, 15.) Na the same thing we learn from wetin Jehovah tell e servant Job. The bad-bad things wey Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar talk really pain Job. But Jehovah tell Job make e pray for them. After Job do like that, Jehovah bless-am.—Job 42:8-10.

10. Why e no good make we continue to vex for person wey do us bad? (Ephesians 4:31, 32)

¹⁰ When we continue to vex we de give ourself problem. When we de vex, e de be like say we carry heavy load, and Jehovah want make we comot that load so that we go get peace. (Read Ephesians 4:31, 32.) E encourage us say make we “stop to vex and troway hot temper.” (Ps. 37:8) If we follow that advice, e go help us. When we continue to vex for wetin person do us, e fit affect our body and the way we de think. (Prov. 14:30) If person drink poison, e no go expect say na another person e go affect. For the same way, if you continue to vex for person, na you e go de affect, no be the person. So, when we forgive other people, na ourself we de help. (Prov. 11:17) This one de help us get peace of mind and we go continue to serve Jehovah well.

11. Wetin Bible talk about to pay back bad with bad? (Romans 12:19-21)

¹¹ Na Jehovah go pay back. Jehovah no give us the right to punish person wey don sin against us. (Read Romans 12:19-21.) Because we no dey perfect, we no go fit judge matter for correct way as God go do-am. (Heb. 4:13) And sometimes, the way we de feel fit deceive us and e fit make us no do the right thing. Jehovah spirit  move James to write for Bible say: “Person vex no de bring God righteousness.” (Jas. 1:20) We fit dey sure say, Jehovah go do the correct thing and judge matter for correct way.

12. How we fit show our trust say Jehovah go judge for correct way?

¹² When we forgive, e show our trust for Jehovah say e go do the correct thing. When we leave matter for Jehovah hand, we de show our trust for Jehovah say, e go comot all the problem wey sin don cause. For Paradise, we no go ever “remember” all the problems wey we don face. (Isa. 65:17) But when person do us wetin pain us reach bone, e really dey possible to stop to vex and comot the thing from our heart? Make we see how some people don do this one.

13-14. Wetin the experience of Tony and José teach you about to forgive?

¹³ Many of our Christian brothers and sisters decide say they go forgive even though say wetin other people do them pain them reach bone. Wetin they don gain as they do like that?

¹⁴ One brother wey e name na Tony, c de live for Philippines. E find out say one man wey e name na José kill e elder brother. Na long time before e learn the truth e know this one. That time, Tony na wicked person and e like fight. E plan to kill José. Then they arrest José and put-am for prison. After, when they release José from prison, Tony decide say e must find José and kill-am. E even buy gun wey e go use kill José. But, Tony start to study Bible with Jehovah Witness people. E talk say, “As I de study Bible, I learn say, I need to change the way I de live my life. And this one mean say, I go stop to vex.” As time de go, Tony baptize, and after, e become elder for congregation. Just think how Tony go don surprise when e know say, José don de serve Jehovah too! When two of them meet, they happy and hug each other. And Tony tell José say e don forgive-am. Tony talk say e really over glad as e forgive José sotey e no fit  even explain the kind feeling wey e get. True-true Jehovah bless Tony as e dey ready to forgive.

15-16. Wetin the experience of Peter and Sue teach you about to forgive?

¹⁵ For 1985, Peter and Sue dey meeting for Kingdom Hall when bomb just explode. Na one man wey no be Jehovah Witness hide the bomb for Kingdom Hall before meeting start! Sue get serious wound wey really affect e eye and e ear. And e no de fit smell something well again. d Peter and Sue de always think-am for their mind say, ‘Which kind person go fit do this kind wicked thing?’ After many years, government catch the person wey hide the bomb, and put-am for prison make e dey there till e die. When they ask Peter and Sue whether they don forgive this man, they talk say: “Jehovah de teach us say, if we continue to vex because the thing wey person do us pain us, this one go affect our body, the way we de feel, and the way we de think. So after the thing happen, quick-quick we beg Jehovah make e help us stop to vex so that we go fit get peace of mind.”

¹⁶ All the time wey them dey for the problem, e dey easy for them to forgive the man? No, no be everytime. They still talk say: “Sometimes, when Sue de suffer pain because of the wound wey e get, this one de make us vex again. But we no de continue to think about-am. So we de forget-am quick-quick. The truth na say, we de talk this one from our heart say if the man wey hide the bomb become Jehovah Witness one day, we go dey happy to welcome the man. This experience don teach us say, when we follow advice from Bible, we go get freedom. True-true, advice for Bible de make us dey free for plenty ways wey we no fit even think about! We know say Jehovah go soon comot all the problem wey we  de face. This one still de make our mind come down.”

17. Wetin the experience of Myra teach you about to forgive?

¹⁷ Myra don already marry and get two small children before e learn the truth. E husband no accept the truth. As time de go, e husband sleep with another woman and pack leave Myra and the children. Myra talk say: “When my husband leave me and our two children, I feel the pain wey people de feel when person wey they love leave them. For example, I shock, I no believe-am at all, I feel bad, I regret, I even blame myself, and I really vex.” Even though say the marriage don end, e still feel the pain because the husband break the promise wey they don make, and e comot for the marriage. Myra still talk say: “I continue to feel bad for plenty months and after, I know say the way I de feel de affect my friendship with Jehovah and other people.” Now Myra don stop to vex, and e no get any bad thing for mind for e former husband again. Myra hope na say, one day e former husband go come serve Jehovah. Myra put mind for wetin go happen for future. As na only Myra de take care of e children, e train e children to serve Jehovah. Today, Myra de glad as e de serve Jehovah with e two children and their families.

18. Wetin we fit dey sure say Jehovah wey be the Highest Judge go do?

¹⁸ We dey glad to know say, we no need to worry ourself about how they go judge each person! As the Highest Judge, Jehovah go care for this important work. (Rom. 14:10-12) We fit really trust Jehovah say when e de judge, e go always follow e perfect law wey e don put about wetin dey right and wetin dey wrong. (Gen. 18:25; 1 Ki. 8:32) E no go ever do wetin no dey righteous!

19. As Jehovah na the best Judge, wetin this one mean for us?

¹⁹ We de really wait for the time when Jehovah go comot all the problem wey sin don cause kpatakpata. That time, Jehovah go heal all the wound wey we get finish, both the ones wey eye fit see and the ones wey eye no fit see. (Ps. 72:12-14; Rev. 21:3, 4) We no go ever remember them again. As we de wait for that wonderful time to come, we really thank Jehovah say e don give us the power to forgive people as e de do.
