1-2. (a) À dyi Jízɛ̀ɛ̀ cĩ́-cĩ́ kè ɔ wuɖu-wáɖá-kũ̀àɔ̀ jè hwìɖìi poìn ní, nìí, xwɛ̀ à hwòɖòɔ̀ nyu nìɛ̀ kɛ́? (b) Ðɛ́ à mu jè cɛ̃ìn ɖé cɛ̃́ɛ́-ɖɛ̀ nìà kɛ múɛ́?

 WHEN somebody we love die from us, we can really miss them! From the beginning, it can hurt us when we think about the thing them that happen before the person die, especially if they suffer before they die. But after some time, we can start feeling happy again when we remember something the person taught us, or something he use to say or do to encourage us or make us laugh.

² That the same way it can make us feel bad when we read about how Jesus suffer and die. Especially during the Memorial season, we want take time to think about how Jesus sacrifice important. (1 Cor. 11:24, 25) But we will be more happy when we think on all the thing them Jesus use to say and do when he was on earth. Also, it can encourage us when we think on what he doing now-now and what he will do for us in the future. In this article, we will learn how when we meditate on this thing them and on his love for us, it can make us to do things to show that we grateful.

3. Xwíníín ɓèɔ̀ nyɛ́ à ɓéɖé ɓó zùo-po-hwòɖò tɛ̀mɛ̀ìn jè ɓó mú-gbààìn-ɖɛ̀ɔ̀ jè kɛ́?

³ We can be grateful when we think on Jesus life and death. When Jesus was on earth, he always use to teach people about the good-good thing them God Kingdom will do. We really grateful about what the Kingdom will do. We thankful for the ransom. That because of it we able to get close friendship with Jehovah and Jesus.  Also, those who put faith in Jesus get the hope to live forever and to see their people who na die. (John 5:28, 29; Rom. 6:23) You think we get all this blessing them because we work for it? No, and we not even able to pay God and Jesus for what they na do for us. (Rom. 5:8, 20, 21) But we can still show to them that we really grateful. How?

4. Xwɛ̀ Meɖé Máɖèɖà nyu ma zùo-po-hwòɖò tɛ̀mɛ̀ìn ɓá ɖɛ Jízɛ̀ ɖà ma ɔ bìì nyuɛɛ jè dyíɛ́? (Gmɔ̀ dyi-dyé-ɖɛ̀ɔ̀ dya.)

⁴ Let look at the example of one Jewish woman name Mary Magdalene. She was suffering bad way because she was having seven demons. She was thinking that nobody able to help her. So just imagine how she was grateful when Jesus free her from under the demon them control! The way she was grateful make her to be Jesus disciples. And she use her time, strength, and the thing them she was having to help Jesus in the preaching work. (Luke 8:1-3) Mary was really happy for what Jesus did for her. And maybe she never even knew that he was coming do more for her in the future. He was coming die for the whole world, ‘so that everybody who put faith in him’ can live forever. (John 3:16) But Mary still show that she was grateful by sticking to Jesus. When Jesus was suffering on the torture stake, Mary was there because she care about him and wanted to comfort the other people. (John 19:25) After Jesus die, Mary and two other women carry plants that get sweet scent to the grave for his burial. (Mark 16:1, 2) Jehovah bless Mary because she was loyal to Jesus. Jesus met Mary and talk with her after he came back to life. Most of Jesus disciples not enjoy this blessing.—John 20:11-18.

5. Xwɛ̀ à ɓɛ́ìn à zùo-po-hwòɖò tɛ̀mɛ̀ìn ɓó ɖɛ séín ɓè Jɛhova kè Jízɛ̀ ɖà à bìì nyɛɛ jè dyíɛ́?

⁵ We too can show that we grateful to  Jehovah and Jesus for everything they na do for us. We can show it by using our time, strength, and money to serve Jehovah. For example, we can help to build places for worship and we can also help to take care of them.

6. Xwíníínɔ̀ nyɛ́ kɔ̃̀ jè à ɓɛ́àìn cɛ̃ɛ kà mú-gbààìn-ɖɛ̀ɔ̀ mɔ̀à nyíí-ɖɛ̀ jɛ́ɛ́ ɖò ɓó à bìì kɛ́?

⁶ When we think about the way Jehovah and Jesus love us, it can make us to love them too. (1 John 4:10, 19) We can even love them more when we know that Jesus die for each of us. The apostle Paul knew this one and he talk about how he grateful when he wrote to the Galatians. He said: “The Son of God. . . loved me and handed himself over for me.” (Gal. 2:20) Jehovah na draw you to himself so that you can be his friend and it happen because of the ransom. (John 6:44) It really touch your heart to know that Jehovah saw something good in you and that he pay very high price just for you to be his friend. It also make your love for Jehovah and Jesus very strong. So we must think of this question, ‘Wetin this love must make me to do?’

7. Kà ɔ nìà ɖé dyi-dyé-ɖɛ̀ɔ̀ múɛɛ, xwɛ̀ à séín ɓɛ́ìn ɖɛ̀ɓɛ̀ìn-ɖɛ̀ɓɛ̀ìn ɓó Jɛhova kè Jízɛ̀ bììɛɛ tɛ̀mɛ̀ìn nyɛ́? (2 Kɔ̀ɖéíntĩ̀ɔ̀ 5:14, 15; 6:1, 2)

⁷ When we love God and Jesus, it can make us to love other people. (Read 2 Corinthians 5:14, 15; 6:1, 2.) One way we can show our love that to have zeal in the preaching work. We must talk with everybody we meet. We must not avoid talking to somebody because he get different skin color or he come from different tribe. Also, we must talk with everybody whether they rich or poor or  whether they know book or they not know book. Like that, we will be doing Jehovah will because his will that for ‘all type of people to know the truth and be save.’—1 Tim. 2:4.

8. Xwɛ̀ à ɓɛ́ìn à ɖíí-gàà kè ɖíí-màà ɓè ɖɛ̀ɓɛ̀ìn-ɖɛ̀ɓɛ̀ìn dyí tɛ̀mɛ̀ìn nyɛ́?

⁸ We can also prove that we love God and Jesus by showing love for our brother and sister them. (1 John 4:21) We must show interest in them and help them when they going through problems. We can comfort them when somebody die from them and we can visit them when they sick. We can also do our best to encourage them when they feeling discourage. (2 Cor. 1:3-7; 1 Thess. 5:11, 14) We must continue to pray for them. We must remember that “a righteous man’s supplication has a powerful effect.”—Jas. 5:16.

9. Hwìè kà kò ɖò ɓèɔ̀ nyɛ́ kɔ̃̀ xwíníín à ɓɛ́ìn à ɖíí-gàà kè ɖíí-màà ɓè ɖɛ̀ɓɛ̀ìn-ɖɛ̀ɓɛ̀ìn dyí tɛ̀mɛ̀ìn nyɛ́?

⁹ We can also show love for our brother and sister them by working hard to keep peace with them. We must fight hard to follow Jehovah example to forgive. Jehovah was willing to let his Son die for our sins. So we must be willing to forgive our brother and sister them when they sin against us? We not want be like the wicked slave in one of Jesus parable. His master cancel the plenty money he was owing. Even after this, the wicked slave refuse to forgive the other slave. And the money the other slave was owing was small when you compare it to the money he was owing their master. (Matt. 18:23-35) If you having problem with anybody in the congregation, you able to be the first to go make peace before you attend the Memorial? (Matt. 5:23, 24) When you do it, you will prove that you really love Jehovah and Jesus.

10-11. Xwɛ̀ ɛ́ɖɔ̀ ɓè ɓɛ́ìn ɖɛ̀ɓɛ̀ìn-ɖɛ̀ɓɛ̀ìn ɓó Jɛhova kè Jízɛ̀ bììɛɛ tɛ̀mɛ̀ìn nyɛ́? (1 Píɖɛ̀ 5:1, 2)

¹⁰ How the elder them can show that they love Jehovah and Jesus? One important way that to take care of Jesus sheep. (Read 1 Peter 5:1, 2.) Jesus made that point clear to the apostle Peter. After he deny Jesus three times, Peter really wanted to show his love for Jesus. After Jesus was resurrected, he ask Peter: ‘Simon son of John, you love me?’ We sure that Peter wanted to do everything to prove that he really love Jesus. Jesus told Peter: “Shepherd my little sheep.” (John 21:15-17) And from that time until he die, Peter took good care of Jesus sheep. He prove his love for Jesus.

¹¹ Elders, during the Memorial season, how yor can show that the things Jesus said to Peter important to yor? Yor can show that yor love Jehovah and Jesus by always finding time to encourage the brother and sister them. Yor can also show this love by putting more effort to help inactive people come back to Jehovah. (Ezek. 34:11, 12) Yor can also encourage Bible students and interested people who attend the Memorial. Help them to feel welcome because we hope they will serve Jehovah one day.

12. Xwíníínɔ̀ nyɛ́ kɔ̃̀ jè wuɖu ɓè ɓɛ́ Jízɛ̀ cɛ̃ ma hwɛ̀ ɔ dyi mɛ́ máaún-kà nìà wɛ̃ɛ jè hwìɖìi-nàìn-nàìn kùìn à dyiɛ́? (Jɔ̃́ɔ́ 16:32, 33)

¹² Jesus said something to his disciples on the night before he die. He said:  ‘In the world you will face problem, but take courage! I na conquer the world.’ (Read John 16:32, 33.) Wetin help Jesus to get courage when his enemies were planning to kill him? And what help him to be faithful until he die? He rely on Jehovah. Since Jesus knew that his disciple them was coming face the same kind na problems, he ask Jehovah to protect them. (John 17:11) Why this one can give us courage? Because Jehovah strong pass all our enemy them. (1 John 4:4) Jehovah can see everything. We convince that if we rely on him, he will help us to show courage and not be scary.

13. Xwɛ̀ Jòsé sɔ̀à Àɖémàtíà-hwɔ̀ɖɔ̀ɔ̀ múɛɛ tɛ̀mɛ̀ìn ma hwòɖò-ku-ku kɛ́?

¹³ Let look at the example of Joseph from Arimathea. The Jewish people really use to respect him. He was member of the Sanhedrin, or the Jewish supreme court. But when Jesus was on earth, Joseph was not having courage. John say that Joseph was secret disciple of Jesus because he was scare of the Jews. (John 19:38) Although Joseph was having interest in the Kingdom message, he not show to other people that he was having faith in Jesus. Maybe he was scare that people was not coming respect him again if they knew that he Jesus disciple. But the Bible say that after Jesus die, Joseph finally ‘got courage and went to Pilate and ask for Jesus body.’ (Mark 15:42, 43) Joseph was not hiding anymore that he was Jesus disciple.

14. Ðɛ́ à mɛ nyu ɔ jù ké à dyi nyɔ tɔ̀ɔ̀ ɓè dyi fɛ̃̀ìn níɛ́?

¹⁴ You can be scare of other people like Joseph? You can be embarrass sometime to tell people to your school or to your working place that you Jehovah Witness? You wasting time to be publisher or to get baptize because you worry about what people will think about you? Don’t let anything like that stop you from doing the right thing. Pray to Jehovah from your heart. Ask him to give you courage to do his will. When you see how Jehovah answer your prayers, it will make you to be more strong and to get more courage.—Isa. 41:10, 13.

15. Ti Jízɛ̀ wóɖóìn ma ɔ ɖeín-nà-nyɔ̀ ɓèɔ̀ dyíɛɛ, ɖɛ́ wa múàɔ̀ nyu ma ɓɛ́ wa ké nyuɛ́? (Ðúù 24:52, 53)

¹⁵ The disciple them were feeling bad when Jesus die. Just put yourself in their shoes. They were feeling bad because  their friend they love die and they felt that they not get hope again. (Luke 24:17-21) But when Jesus appear to them, he took his time to help them understand how he fulfill Bible prophecy. He also gave them important work to do. (Luke 24:26, 27, 45-48) After 40 days, Jesus went back to heaven. By that time, the disciple them were very happy. They were not feeling bad again. They were happy now because they knew that Jesus was still living and he will help them to do the work he gave them to do. That happiness made them to continue praising Jehovah.—Read Luke 24:52, 53; Acts 5:42.

16. Xwɛ̀ à ɓɛ́ìn Jízɛ̀ɛ̀ ɖeín-nà-nyɔ̀ ɓèɔ̀ nyuu-ɖɛ̀ kíɖíí síɛ kɛ́?

¹⁶ How we can imitate Jesus disciple them? We can be happy worshipping Jehovah during the Memorial season and throughout the year. But for this one to happen, we must put God Kingdom first in our life. For example, plenty brother and sister them na change their working schedule so they can always go in field service, attend meetings, and do their family worship. Some of them na decide to not get plenty materials things that other people take to be important. They make that decision so they can do more for the congregation. Or so they can go serve to where they need more publishers. Even though we need to endure to continue serving Jehovah, he say he will bless us if we put the Kingdom first in our life.—Prov. 10:22; Matt. 6:32, 33.

17. Ðɛ́ m̀ ɖà kɔ̃ jìɖììn ɓɛ́ m̀ ké nyu ɓó Ðɛ-hwìɖìi-dyà-hwɔ̀ nìà kɛ tiín nyɛ́? (Gmɔ̀ dyi-dyé-ɖɛ̀ɔ̀ dya.)

¹⁷ We all happy to attend the Memorial on Tuesday, April 4. But we must not wait for the Memorial to come before we take time to think about Jesus life, his death and on the love he and Jehovah show to us. Most of the time, try to think about this thing them during the whole Memorial season. For example, set special time to read and think about the thing them that in the chart “The Final Week of Jesus’ Life on Earth”. You can find it in the New World Translation to Appendix B12. When you reading it, you must look for scripture them that can make you to be more grateful, get more love, courage, and happiness. Then think about some thing them you can do to show that you really grateful. You can be sure that Jesus will be happy with all the thing them you do to remember him during this Memorial season.—Rev. 2:19.
