Be Happy and Patient While You Waiting for Jehovah

Be Happy and Patient While You Waiting for Jehovah

YOU really waiting for the time Jehovah will end all wickedness and make everything new? (Rev. 21:1-5) We sure you waiting for that time! But it not always easy to continue to be patient while waiting for Jehovah, especially when we going through hard time. We can get discourage when we hoping for something and it not come the time we expecting it.—Prov. 13:12, ftn.

But still, Jehovah expect us to be patient and wait for the time he na set to take action. Why Jehovah expect us to wait? Wetin can help us to be happy while we waiting?

WHY JEHOVAH EXPECT US TO WAIT?

The Bible say: “Jehovah is waiting patiently to show you favor, and he will rise up to show you mercy. For Jehovah is a God of justice. Happy are all those keeping in expectation of him.” (Isa. 30:18) Isaiah was mainly talking to the hard head Jews in this verse. (Isa. 30:1) But what Isaiah say here gave hope to some faithful people who were among them. And this same word them can give hope to Jehovah faithful servants today.

So we must be patient and wait because Jehovah patient and he waiting too. He na set the time to destroy this world, and he waiting for that day and hour to come. (Matt. 24:36) At that time, it will be clear that all the things Satan say against Jehovah and His servant them, that so-so lie. Then He will put Satan in the abyss and destroy anybody who join him, but He will “show [us] mercy.”

In the meantime, Jehovah will not move all our problems, but he tell us that we can be happy while we waiting. According to Isaiah, we can be happy while we hoping for something good to happen. (Isa. 30:18) a How we can get that happiness? Four things can help us.

HOW TO BE HAPPY WHILE WE WAITING?

Think about the good-good thing them that happening in your life. King David saw plenty wicked thing them that happen throughout his life. (Ps. 37:35) But still he say: “Keep silent before Jehovah and wait expectantly for him. Do not be upset by the man who succeeds in carrying out his schemes.” (Ps. 37:7) David himself follow that advice by focusing on Jehovah promise to help him. He was also grateful for all the good-good things Jehovah did for him. (Ps. 40:5) We too, when we focus on the good-good thing them that happening in our life and not on our problems, it will be more easy for us to wait for Jehovah.

Use every opportunity to praise Jehovah. Maybe that David write Psalm 71. He say to Jehovah: “I will continue to wait; I will add to your praise.” (Ps. 71:14) How David praise Jehovah? He use to tell other people about Jehovah and sing praises to him. (Ps. 71:16, 23) Like David, we can be happy while we waiting for Jehovah. We can praise Jehovah when we preach to people, tell our friends and family about him and sing our songs. The next time you singing one of our Kingdom songs, you not think it will be good to pay attention to the word them and how they make you happy?

Get encouragement from your brothers and sisters. When David was going through problems, he say to Jehovah: “In the presence of your loyal ones, I will hope in your name.” (Ps. 52:9) We too can get encouragement from our brothers and sisters not only to meetings and field service but also when we having get-together.—Rom. 1:11, 12.

Try to get strong hope. Psalm 62:5 say: “I wait silently for God because my hope comes from him.” It really important to get strong hope especially when the end not come the time we expecting it. We must be convince that all Jehovah promise them will come true no matter how long we need to wait for them. We can get strong hope by studying the Bible. For example, we can study about the prophecies that na come true, the way the Bible writer them in agreement, and the things Jehovah tell us about himself. (Ps. 1:2, 3) Also, we must continue to “pray with holy spirit” to continue having good friendship with Jehovah while we waiting for Jehovah to fulfill his promise to give us everlasting life.—Jude 20, 21.

Like King David, we can be convince that Jehovah watching over those waiting for Him and He can show his loyal love to them. (Ps. 33:18, 22) Continue to be patient and wait for Jehovah by focusing on the good-good thing them in your life, by praising him, by getting encouragement from your brothers and sisters, and by always trying to get strong hope.

a The original-language word they translate “keeping in expectation” can also mean “longing or hoping for something to happen.” This one show that it not wrong for you to want for Jehovah to end all the suffering in this world.
