8. Take Steps to Fix Your Mistakes

(15 min.) Discussion.

No matter how hard we try, we all make mistakes. (1Jo 1:8) When we do, we should never let embarrassment or fear of getting into trouble prevent us from turning to Jehovah for forgiveness and help. (1Jo 1:9) Turning to Jehovah is always the first step in fixing a mistake.

Read Psalm 51:1, 2, 17. Then ask the audience:

  • How can David’s words motivate us to turn to Jehovah for help if we make a serious mistake?

Play the VIDEO My Teen Life—How Can I Fix My Mistakes? Then ask the audience:

  • What are some things that led up to Thalila and José making mistakes?

  • What steps did they take to fix their mistakes?

  • How did they benefit from doing so?
