First consider this overview, and then play the VIDEO.

FIRST PART

This will begin with a summary of the lesson. Next, you will see a number 1 in the top-left corner of the screen. This refers to paragraph 1. Questions for discussion will appear on-screen. The answers to these will be explained by the main signer. The pause button will allow you to have a discussion with your Bible teacher. A similar format will be seen in the paragraphs that follow. You will often see quoted Bible scriptures shown on-screen and cited scriptures throughout this publication. You can look up cited scriptures by downloading the JW Library Sign Language app. As you watch a lesson, select the links in the marker list to view the Bible citations.

MIDDLE PART

Under Dig Deeper section you will learn more of what the Bible teaches, see colorful artwork and watch and discuss videos.

VIDEO boxes direct you to multimedia that supplement the text. Some videos present real accounts. Others are dramatizations that do not portray real events or people but depict realistic situations.

Additionally, Some People Say allows you to discuss with your Bible teacher how to explain to others the answers to the questions posed.

LAST PART

Summary wrap up the lesson. Your answers to the Review questions will help you retain the main points of the lesson. Enter the date when the lesson is completed. Goal allows you to set one goal for yourself, and for you and your Bible teacher to discuss a second goal that could be within your reach. Once you reach your goals, you may mark them as complete. Lastly, Explore contains optional information for you to watch by clicking the appropriate link.

This publication does not replace the Bible. Rather, it encourages you to examine the Bible for yourself. Therefore, we urge you to read the scriptures that are listed in these lessons and compare them with what you are learning.

How to find Bible verses

The Bible is a collection of 66 smaller books. It is divided into two sections: the Hebrew-Aramaic Scriptures (“Old Testament”) and the Christian Greek Scriptures (“New Testament”). Download the JW Library Sign Language app.

When a scripture is cited in this course, it is indicated by the name of the Bible book (A), followed by the chapter (B), and the verse or verses (C).

For example, John 17:3 refers to the book of John, chapter 17, verse 3.
