ÐƐ-KƆ̃IN-GMƆÌN-GMƆÌN a

1. Ðɛ́ tɛ̀mɛ̀ìn kà ɓɛ́ Geɖepɔɔ wuɖuɔ̀ kpa ma ɖɛ ɖé Jízɛ̀ gboɛ́?

IMAGINE how it was looking like to listen to Jesus teaching. Jesus always use to say things that came from the Bible. And he use to take everything from his head! In fact, the thing them he said right after he got baptize and just before he die came from the Bible. b (Deut. 8:3; Ps. 31:5; Luke 4:4; 23:46) And during the three and the half years that Jesus preach for, he use to read the Bible in public, say things from it and explain it.—Matt. 5:17, 18, 21, 22, 27, 28; Luke 4:16-20.

Throughout his life, Jesus show that he love the Bible and he practice what it say (See paragraph 2)

2. Kà ɔ nì ma ɓíɖíi sɔ̀ùn wɛ̃ɛ, ɖɛ́ kpá ma Jízɛ̀ gbo ɓɛ́ ɔ ké Geɖepɔɔ wuɖuɔ̀ dyuò nɔ̀mɔ̀ dyíin nyɛ́? (Gmɔ̀ dyi-dyé-ɖɛ̀ nìà mákázĩ̀ìnɔ̀ kɔ̃ɛɛ dya.)

2 From the time Jesus was small, he always use to read and hear people reading the Bible. He also use to hear his ma and pa saying thing them from the Bible when the family lecturing. c (Deut. 6:6, 7) We sure that Jesus use to go to the synagogue with his family every Sabbath. (Luke 4:16) When he go to the synagogue, he use to listen good-good when they reading the Bible. After some time, Jesus learn how to read the Bible on his own. Because of that, Jesus knew the Bible good. He also use to love it and practice what it say. For example, think about what happen in the temple when Jesus was just 12 years old. The teacher them who knew Moses Law good-good use to really be surprise at the way Jesus use to understand and answer.—Luke 2:46, 47, 52.

3. Ðɛ́ à mu jè cɛ̃́ìn ɖé cɛ̃́ɛ́-ɖɛ̀ nìà kɛ múɛ́?

3 We our self can know and love the Bible when we read it all the time. But how we can benefit more from our Bible reading? We can learn from what Jesus told the people who knew the Law, like the scribes, the Pharisees, and the Sadducees. Those big-big God people use to always read the Bible but they never use to benefit from it. Jesus talk about three things these men them suppose to do to benefit from their Bible reading. The things he told them can help us (1) to understand the Bible more, (2) to find good-good thing them inside, and (3) to allow the Bible to change us.

ZÀ ÐƐ WUÐUÚN ƁÓ ÐƐ MÚIN WƆ̃́ JÈ

4. Ðɛ́ Ðúù 10:25-29 tɛ̀mɛ̀ìn à ɓá Geɖepɔɔ wuɖuɔ̀ wuɖuún zà jè dyíɛ́?

4 We want understand the meaning of the thing them we can read in the Bible. When we not do it, we will not benefit from the reading. For example, let see what we can learn from Jesus and one man who knew the Law. (Read Luke 10:25-29.) When the man ask Jesus wetin he must do to get everlasting life, Jesus help him to find the answer in the Bible. Jesus ask him: “What is written in the Law? How do you read?” The man was able to gave the correct answer by quoting what the Bible say about loving God and loving our neighbor. (Lev. 19:18; Deut. 6:5) But then the man ask: ‘Who really my neighbor?’ The question the man ask show that he not really understand the meaning of the thing he read. Because of that, he was not able to apply what the Bible say.

We can learn to understand what we reading

5. Xwɛ̀ ɓaà-ɓaà kè mú-ma-ma ɓɛ́ìn nyuɛ ɓɛ́ à ké ɖɛ múin wɔ̃́ mìɔ kɛ́?

5 We can understand the Bible more when we learn to always do some thing them when we reading it. Here some things that can help you. Pray before you start reading. We need Jehovah help to understand the Bible. So we must ask him for his holy spirit to focus on what we coming read. Then take your own time to read. It will help you to understand the material good. You will benefit more when you read loud or when you listen to the audio while you reading. When you do it, it will help you to understand, remember and learn more from your Bible reading. (Josh. 1:8) When you finish reading, pray again to tell Jehovah thank you for giving you this fine gift, the Bible. Also, ask him to help you apply what you read.

Why taking small-small notes can help you to understand and remember what you read? (See paragraph 6)

6. Xwíníínɔ̀ nyɛ́ kɔ̃̀ jè m̀ mìɔùn ɖɛi dìè-dìè kè ɖɛ xwã́-xwã́ ɓè céè-céè ɓɛ́ìn m̀ gbo kpáa kɛ́? (Gmɔ̀ dyi-dye-ɖɛ̀ɔ̀ dyá.)

6 Here two more things that can help you to understand the Bible more. Ask yourself questions about what you reading. When you reading something in the Bible try to find answers for these question them: ‘Who the main people in the story? Who talking? Who they talking to and why? Where and when these thing them happen?’ Question them like this can help you to think about and follow the main idea them in the story. Also, take small-small notes when you reading. When you write down the thing them you na read and you think about it, it will help you to understand the material good-good. When you write, it can also help you remember what you na read. Maybe you can write some questions down, the things you find in your research and the main points. You can also write down how you want use what you learn or you can just write down how you feeling. When you take notes like this, it can help you to see the Bible just like God writing message directly to you.

7. Kpéɖéɔ̀ nyɛ́ à kɔ̃̀ à ké ɓéɖé à dyi ɖɛ wuɖuún zàà niìn nyɛ́, ké xwíníínɔ̀ nyɛ́ kɔ̃̀ jèɛ́? (Máfíò 24:15)

7 Jesus talk about one important quality that can help us to understand what we read in the Bible. And that quality that discernment. (Read Matthew 24:15.) What discernment mean? It mean to be able to understand how one idea connected to another idea and how that idea different from another idea. It also mean to be able to understand something that not there word-for-word. Jesus also show that we need discernment to know the thing them that fulfilling Bible prophecy. We also need this quality so that we can benefit more from our Bible reading.

8. Xwɛ̀ à ɓɛ́ìn ɖɛ wuɖuún zàà hwòɖò-fɔ̀nɔ̀-kà kɛ́?

8 Jehovah can give his servants discernment. So pray to him to help you get this quality. (Prov. 2:6) How you can work toward your prayer? Take your time to think about what you reading and try to see how it connected to what you already know. To help you, check in our publication them. For example, the Research Guide for Jehovah’s Witnesses. These publication them will help you to understand the meaning of what you read in the Bible. They will also help you to see how you can apply it in your life. (Heb. 5:14) When you use discernment to read, you will understand the Bible more.

9. Ðɛ́ mɔ̀à jàà kpa ɖɛ ɖò nìà ɖé Geɖepɔɔ wuɖuɔ̀ mú ɓɛ́ Sádyùsíì-nyɔ̀ ɓèɔ̀ wã̀ìn ma dyéɖé kɔ̃in nyɛ́?

9 The Sadducees knew the first five books in the Hebrew Scriptures good-good, but they never believe the important truths that was in them. For example, let see how Jesus answer the Sadducees when they ask him about the resurrection. He ask them: “Have you not read in the book of Moses, in the account about the thornbush, that God said to him: ‘I am the God of Abraham and God of Isaac and God of Jacob’?” (Mark 12:18, 26) Even though the Sadducees read that part of the Bible plenty time, but the question Jesus ask show that they never believe one important truth. And that was the teaching of the resurrection.—Mark 12:27; Luke 20:38. d

10. À mɛ ma mú ɓó ɖɛ́ jè à dyi ɖɛ ɖò wuɖuún zàà niìn nyɛ́?

10 Wetin we learn from this one? When we reading, we must pay attention to everything we can learn from the Bible. We must not only understand thing them that easy. But we must also try hard to understand the deep things and Bible principles.

11.2 Tímétè 3:16, 17, nyuà cɛ̃ɛ kɛɛ, xwɛ̀ m̀ ɓɛ́ìn kɔ́mɔ́-ɖɛ̀ ɓè dyéɛ ɖé Baɓoɔ múɛ́?

11 How you can find good-good lessons when you reading the Bible? Let learn from what 2 Timothy 3:16, 17 say. (Read.) It say: Everything in the Bible . . . useful for (1) teaching, (2) reproving, (3) setting things straight, and (4) disciplining. You can get this four benefits even from Bible books that you can’t read all the time. When you reading the Bible, think about what it teach you about Jehovah, his purpose, or about Bible principles. Let look at how the Bible can reprove us. When you reading, try to see how the verse them can help you find and change the wrong thinking you get so that you can remain faithful. Learn how to use the Bible to set things straight, or to correct the wrong thinking that somebody having. Maybe someone said something to us in the ministry that not correct. Also, look for anything in the Bible that can discipline and help us to think like Jehovah. When you remember these four thing them, you will find good-good lessons that will help you enjoy your Bible reading.

12. Xwiníínɔ̀ nyɛ́ kɔ̃̀ jè Jízɛ̀ diè ma Fáɖòsíì-nyɔ̀ ɓèɔ̀ dyi, ɓɛ́ ɔ dyià níin “Ɓè séè . . . ɔ wuɖuún zà ɖòò” kɛɛ kɛ́?

12 Jesus also ask the Pharisee this question “Have you not read?” to show that they was having wrong thinking about the Bible. (Matt. 12:1-7) e That time, the Pharisee them say Jesus disciples break the Sabbath law. To answer them, Jesus use two examples from the Bible and one verse from Hosea to show that the Pharisees not understand why Jehovah gave the Sabbath law. He also use those examples to show that the Pharisee them was not having mercy. Why these men them was not able to apply what they read from the Bible? Because they were proud and they were reading it to find fault with other people. Their attitude make it hard for them to understand what they were reading.—Matt. 23:23; John 5:39, 40.

13. Xwɛ̀ à hwòɖò mɛ nì à dyi Baɓoɔ wuɖuún zàà nìin nyɛ́, ké xwíníínɔ̀ nyɛ́ kɔ̃̀ jèɛ́?

13 We learn from Jesus that we must get the right attitude when we reading the Bible. We must not be like the Pharisee but we must be humble and be willing to learn. We must “accept with mildness the implanting of the word.” (Jas. 1:21) If we mild, we will let the Bible to change us. The only way we will be able to show mercy, compassion, and love that for us to not be proud and to stop finding fault on other people.

How we can know whether we allowing the Bible to change us? (See paragraph 14) f

14. Xwɛ̀ à ɓɛ́ìn dyí dyuòɛ̀ kɛɓì à nì wɔ̃́uń ɓɛ́ Baɓoɔ ké à kpeɖe ɓèɔ̀ dyí zàìn nyɛ́? (Gmɔ̀ dyi-dyé-ɖɛ̀ɔ̀ dya ɖekè.)

14 The way we treat other people can show if we allowing the Bible to change us. The Pharisees never allow the Bible to touch their heart. Because of that they condemn other people for nothing. (Matt. 12:7) Also, the way we treat other people will show whether we applying the Bible in our lives. For example, we can try to see the good that other people can do or we can be quick to see their mistake? We can show mercy and be ready to forgive, or we can criticize other people and hold grudge? The way we will answer this question them will show whether we allowing the Bible to change our thinking, feeling, and the way we can act.—1 Tim. 4:12, 15; Heb. 4:12.

ÐƐ WUÐUÚN-ZÀ-ZÀ ƁƐ́ Ɔ NYÍ NYƆ MÚÀ KƐ

15. Xwɛ̀ Jízɛ̀ hwòɖò nì ma ɓá céè-ɖɛ̀ hwɛ̀-mú ɓèɔ̀ jè dyíɛ́?

15 Jesus love the Bible, and Psalm 40:8 prophesy about how he was coming feel about the Bible. It say. “To do your will, O my God, is my delight, and your law is deep within me.” Because Jesus love the Bible, he was happy and successful in serving Jehovah. We too can be happy and continue to serve Jehovah if we learn to love the Bible.—Ps. 1:1-3.

16. Ðé hwìè nyɛ́ ɓè mú ní mɔ́ ɓɛ́ Geɖepɔɔ wuɖuɔ̀ wuɖuún-zà-zà ké ḿ kpáná dyí nyu mìɔ kɛ́? (Dyé gbɔ̀ɖɔ̀ɔ̀ mɔ̀à “ Jízɛ̀ wuɖuɔ̀ ɓɛ́ìn m̀ gbo kpáa ɓɛ́ m̀ ké ɖɛ m̀ zàà wuɖuún wɛ̃ɛ múin wɔ̃́”)

16 Let improve the way we read the Bible by following Jesus example. We can get more understanding from the Bible by praying, taking our own time to read, asking questions, and taking small-small notes. We can also use discernment by taking time to think on what we read, and our publication them can help us get more understanding. And we can learn to use the Bible better by looking for good-good lessons inside. We can do this one even if we not know certain part of the Bible too good. Then we can let the Bible to change us by trying to get the right attitude when we reading. When we do this thing them, we will benefit more from our Bible reading and get closer to Jehovah.—Ps. 119:17, 18; Jas. 4:8.

WƐ́ÐƐ́ 95 The Light Gets Brighter

a All of us who worshiping Jehovah can try hard to read the Bible every day. Plenty other people can read the Bible too, but they can’t really understand it. The same thing use to happen to some people when Jesus was on earth. We can learn how to benefit more from our Bible reading by learning about what Jesus told those who use to read it.

b When Jesus was baptize and the holy spirit came on him, Jehovah help him remember the time he was in heaven before he came to the earth.—Matt. 3:16.

c Mary knew the Bible good-good and she use to use it. (Luke 1:46-55) Maybe Joseph and Mary were not having enough money to buy their own Bible. So they use to listen good when other people reading the Bible in the synagogue and they use to remember it.

d See the article “Draw Close to God—‘He Is the God . . . of the Living’” in the February 1, 2013, Watchtower.

e See also Matthew 19:4-6, where Jesus ask the Pharisee them this same question: “Have you not read?” Although they read the story about creation, they never believe what God say about marriage.

f WETIN THE PICTURE SAYING: During the meeting to the Kingdom Hall, one of the brothers who can help to take care of the sound system make some mistake them. But after the meeting, the brother them tell him thank you for the work instead of focusing on his mistakes.
