1 Corinthians 13:1-13

13  ᾿Εὰν If everταῖς to theγλώσσαις tonguesτῶν of theἀνθρώπων menλαλῶ I may be speakingκαὶ andτῶν of theἀγγέλων, angels,ἀγάπην loveδὲ butμὴ notἔχω, I may be having,γέγονα I have becomeχαλκὸς copperἠχῶν soundingorκύμβαλον cymbalἀλαλάζον. clanging. 2  κἂν And if everἔχω I may be havingπροφητείαν prophecyκαὶ andεἰδῶ I should knowτὰ theμυστήρια mysteriesπάντα allκαὶ andπᾶσαν allτὴν theγνῶσιν, knowledge,κἂν and if everἔχω I may be havingπᾶσαν allτὴν theπίστιν faithὥστε as-andὄρη mountainsμεθιστάνειν, to be transplacing,ἀγάπην loveδὲ butμὴ notἔχω, I may be having,οὐθέν nothingεἰμι. I am. 3  κἂν And if everψωμίσω I should morsel out in foodπάντα allτὰ theὑπάρχοντά belongingsμου, of me,κἂν and if everπαραδῶ I should give besideτὸ theσῶμά bodyμου, of me,ἵνα in order thatκαυχήσωμαι, I might boast,ἀγάπην loveδὲ butμὴ notἔχω, I may be having,οὐδὲν nothingὠφελοῦμαι. I am being profited. 4  Theἀγάπη loveμακροθυμεῖ, is having longness of spirit,χρηστεύεται, it is kind,theἀγάπη loveοὐ notζηλοῖ, is being jealous,οὐ notπερπερεύεται, it is bragging,οὐ notφυσιοῦται, it is being puffed up, 5  οὐκ notἀσχημονεῖ, it is behaving uncomelily,οὐ notζητεῖ it is seekingτὰ the (things)ἑαυτῆς, of itself,οὐ notπαροξύνεται, it is being provoked,οὐ notλογίζεται it is reckoningτὸ theκακόν, bad (thing), 6  οὐ notχαίρει it is rejoicingἐπὶ uponτῇ theἀδικίᾳ, unrighteousness,συνχαίρει it is rejoicing withδὲ butτῇ to theἀληθείᾳ· truth; 7  πάντα all (things)στέγει, it is covering,πάντα all (things)πιστεύει, it is believing,πάντα all (things)ἐλπίζει, it is hoping,πάντα all (things)ὑπομένει. it is enduring. 8  Theἀγάπη loveοὐδέποτε neverπίπτει. is falling.εἴτε Whetherδὲ butπροφητεῖαι, prophecies,καταργηθήσονται· they will be made ineffective;εἴτε whetherγλῶσσαι, tongues,παύσονται· they will cease;εἴτε whetherγνῶσις, knowledge,καταργηθήσεται. it will be made ineffective. 9  ἐκ Out ofμέρους partγὰρ forγινώσκομεν we are knowingκαὶ andἐκ out ofμέρους partπροφητεύομεν· we are prophesying; 10  ὅταν wheneverδὲ butἔλθῃ should comeτὸ theτέλειον, perfect (thing),τὸ the (thing)ἐκ out ofμέρους partκαταργηθήσεται. will be made ineffective. 11  ὅτε Whenἤμην I wasνήπιος, babe,ἐλάλουν I was speakingὡς asνήπιος, babe,ἐφρόνουν I was mindingὡς asνήπιος, babe,ἐλογιζόμην I was reckoningὡς asνήπιος· babe;ὅτε whenγέγονα I have becomeἀνήρ, male (adult),κατήργηκα I have made ineffectiveτὰ the (things)τοῦ of theνηπίου. babe. 12  βλέπομεν We are lookingγὰρ forἄρτι right nowδι’ throughἐσόπτρου mirrorἐν inαἰνίγματι, obscure expression,τότε thenδὲ butπρόσωπον faceπρὸς towardπρόσωπον· face;ἄρτι right nowγινώσκω I am knowingἐκ out ofμέρους, part,τότε thenδὲ butἐπιγνώσομαι I shall know accuratelyκαθὼς according asκαὶ alsoἐπεγνώσθην. I was accurately known. 13  νυνὶ Nowδὲ butμένει is remainingπίστις, faith,ἐλπίς, hope,ἀγάπη· love;τὰ theτρία threeταῦτα, these,μείζων greaterδὲ butτούτων of thesetheἀγάπη. love.
