2 Peter 3:1-18

3  Ταύτην Thisἤδη, already,ἀγαπητοί, loved (ones),δευτέραν secondὑμῖν to YOUγράφω I am writingἐπιστολήν, letter,ἐν inαἷς which [letters]διεγείρω I am thoroughly raising upὑμῶν of YOUἐν inὑπομνήσει remindingτὴν theεἰλικρινῆ sincereδιάνοιαν, mental perception, 2  μνησθῆναι to rememberτῶν of theπροειρημένων having been previously spokenῥημάτων sayingsὑπὸ byτῶν theἁγίων holyπροφητῶν prophetsκαὶ andτῆς of theτῶν of theἀποστόλων apostlesὑμῶν of YOUἐντολῆς commandmentτοῦ of theκυρίου Lordκαὶ andσωτῆρος, Savior, 3  τοῦτο thisπρῶτον firstγινώσκοντες [YOU] knowingὅτι thatἐλεύσονται will comeἐπ’ uponἐσχάτων last (ones)τῶν of theἡμερῶν daysἐν inἐμπαιγμονῇ playing in sportἐμπαῖκται players in sportκατὰ according toτὰς theἰδίας ownἐπιθυμίας desiresαὐτῶν of themπορευόμενοι going their way 4  καὶ andλέγοντες sayingΠοῦ Whereἐστὶν isἡ theἐπαγγελία promiseτῆς of theπαρουσίας presenceαὐτοῦ; of him?ἀφ’ fromἧς which [day]γὰρ forοἱ theπατέρες fathersἐκοιμήθησαν, fell asleep,πάντα all (things)οὕτως thusδιαμένει is remaining throughἀπ’ fromἀρχῆς beginningκτίσεως. of creation. 5  λανθάνει Is lying hidden toγὰρ forαὐτοὺς themτοῦτο thisθέλοντας (them) being willingὅτι thatοὐρανοὶ heavensἦσαν wereἔκπαλαι out of oldκαὶ andγῆ earthἐξ out ofὕδατος waterκαὶ andδι’ throughὕδατος waterσυνεστῶσα having stood togetherτῷ to theτοῦ of theθεοῦ Godλόγῳ, to word, 6  δι’ throughὧν which (things)ὁ theτότε thenκόσμος worldὕδατι to waterκατακλυσθεὶς having been delugedἀπώλετο· was destroyed; 7  οἱ theδὲ butνῦν nowοὐρανοὶ heavensκαὶ andἡ theγῆ earthτῷ to theαὐτῷ veryλόγῳ wordτεθησαυρισμένοι have been treasured upεἰσὶν they areπυρὶ to fireτηρούμενοι being keptεἰς intoἡμέραν dayκρίσεως of judgmentκαὶ andἀπωλείας of destructionτῶν of theἀσεβῶν irreverentialἀνθρώπων. men. 8  Ἓν Oneδὲ butτοῦτο this (thing)μὴ notλανθανέτω let it be lying hidden toὑμᾶς, YOU,ἀγαπητοί, loved (ones),ὅτι thatμία oneἡμέρα dayπαρὰ besideΚυρίῳ Lordὡς asχίλια thousandἔτη yearsκαὶ andχίλια thousandἔτη yearsὡς asἡμέρα dayμία. one. 9  οὐ Notβραδύνει is being slowΚύριος Lordτῆς of theἐπαγγελίας, promise,ὡς asτινες some (ones)βραδυτῆτα slownessἡγοῦνται, they are considering,ἀλλὰ butμακροθυμεῖ is being long in spiritεἰς intoὑμᾶς, YOU,μὴ notβουλόμενός wishingτινας any (ones)ἀπολέσθαι to be destroyedἀλλὰ butπάντας all (ones)εἰς intoμετάνοιαν repentanceχωρῆσαι. to allow space for. 10  Ἥξει Will comeδὲ butἡμέρα dayΚυρίου of Lordὡς asκλέπτης, thief,ἐν inᾗ whichοἱ theοὐρανοὶ heavensῥοιζηδὸν with hissing noiseπαρελεύσονται, will go beside,στοιχεῖα elementsδὲ butκαυσούμενα being intensely hotλυθήσεται, will be loosed,καὶ andγῆ earthκαὶ andτὰ theἐν inαὐτῇ itἔργα worksεὑρεθήσεται. will be found. 11  Τούτων Of these (things)οὕτως thusπάντων of allλυομένων being loosedποταποὺς what sort of [men]δεῖ it is bindingὑπάρχειν to be existingὑμᾶς YOUἐν inἁγίαις holyἀναστροφαῖς (acts of) conductκαὶ andεὐσεβείαις, well-reverential (deeds), 12  προσδοκῶντας awaitingκαὶ andσπεύδοντας speeding upτὴν theπαρουσίαν presenceτῆς of theτοῦ of theθεοῦ Godἡμέρας, day,δι’ throughἣν whichοὐρανοὶ heavensπυρούμενοι being on fireλυθήσονται will be loosedκαὶ andστοιχεῖα elementsκαυσούμενα being intensely hotτήκεται· is being melted; 13  καινοὺς newδὲ butοὐρανοὺς heavensκαὶ andγῆν earthκαινὴν newκατὰ according toτὸ theἐπάγγελμα promiseαὐτοῦ of himπροσδοκῶμεν, we are awaiting,ἐν inοἷς which (ones)δικαιοσύνη righteousnessκατοικεῖ. is dwelling. 14  Διό, Through which,ἀγαπητοί, loved (ones),ταῦτα these (things)προσδοκῶντες awaitingσπουδάσατε speed YOU upἄσπιλοι spotless (ones)καὶ andἀμώμητοι unblemished (ones)αὐτῷ to himεὑρεθῆναι to be foundἐν inεἰρήνῃ, peace, 15  καὶ andτὴν theτοῦ of theκυρίου Lordἡμῶν of usμακροθυμίαν longness of spiritσωτηρίαν salvationἡγεῖσθε, be YOU considering,καθὼς according asκαὶ alsoὁ theἀγαπητὸς lovedἡμῶν of usἀδελφὸς brotherΠαῦλος Paulκατὰ according toτὴν theδοθεῖσαν having been givenαὐτῷ to himσοφίαν wisdomἔγραψεν he wroteὑμῖν, to YOU, 16  ὡς asκαὶ alsoἐν inπάσαις allἐπιστολαῖς lettersλαλῶν [he] speakingἐν inαὐταῖς themπερὶ aboutτούτων, these (things),ἐν inαἷς which [letters]ἐστὶν isδυσνόητά hard for mindτινα, some (things),ἃ whichοἱ theἀμαθεῖς non-learnersκαὶ andἀστήρικτοι unsteadyστρεβλοῦσιν are distortingὡς asκαὶ alsoτὰς theλοιπὰς leftover (ones)γραφὰς Scripturesπρὸς towardτὴν theἰδίαν ownαὐτῶν of themἀπώλειαν. destruction. 17  Ὑμεῖς YOUοὖν, therefore,ἀγαπητοί, loved (ones),προγινώσκοντες knowing beforeφυλάσσεσθε be guarding yourselvesἵνα in order thatμὴ notτῇ to theτῶν of theἀθέσμων illegal (ones)πλάνῃ errorσυναπαχθέντες having been led off togetherἐκπέσητε YOU might fall outτοῦ of theἰδίου ownστηριγμοῦ, firm fixedness, 18  αὐξάνετε be YOU growingδὲ butἐν inχάριτι undeserved kindnessκαὶ andγνώσει knowledgeτοῦ of theκυρίου Lordἡμῶν of usκαὶ andσωτῆρος of SaviorἸησοῦ JesusΧριστοῦ. Christ.αὐτῷ To himἡ theδόξα gloryκαὶ andνῦν nowκαὶ andεἰς intoἡμέραν dayαἰῶνος. of age.
