2 Thessalonians 1:1-12

1  Παῦλος Paulκαὶ andΣιλουανὸς Silvanusκαὶ andΤιμόθεος Timothyτῇ to theἐκκλησίᾳ ecclesiaΘεσσαλονικέων of Thessaloniansἐν inθεῷ Godπατρὶ Fatherἡμῶν of usκαὶ andκυρίῳ to LordἸησοῦ JesusΧριστῷ· Christ; 2  χάρις undeserved kindnessὑμῖν to YOUκαὶ andεἰρήνη peaceἀπὸ fromθεοῦ Godπατρὸς Fatherκαὶ andκυρίου LordἸησοῦ JesusΧριστοῦ. Christ. 3  Εὐχαριστεῖν To be giving thanksὀφείλομεν we are owingτῷ to theθεῷ Godπάντοτε alwaysπερὶ aboutὑμῶν, YOU,ἀδελφοί, brothersκαθὼς according asἄξιόν worthyἐστιν, it is,ὅτι becauseὑπεραυξάνει is having supergrowthἡ theπίστις faithὑμῶν of YOUκαὶ andπλεονάζει is becoming moreἡ theἀγάπη loveἑνὸς of oneἑκάστου of eachπάντων of allὑμῶν of YOUεἰς intoἀλλήλους, one another, 4  ὥστε as-andαὐτοὺς very (ones)ἡμᾶς usἐν inὑμῖν YOUἐνκαυχᾶσθαι to be boasting inἐν inταῖς theἐκκλησίαις ecclesiasτοῦ of theθεοῦ Godὑπὲρ overτῆς of theὑπομονῆς enduranceὑμῶν of YOUκαὶ andπίστεως of faithἐν inπᾶσιν allτοῖς theδιωγμοῖς persecutionsὑμῶν of YOUκαὶ andταῖς to theθλίψεσιν tribulationsαἷς to whichἀνέχεσθε, YOU are holding selves up, 5  ἔνδειγμα showing withinτῆς of theδικαίας righteousκρίσεως judgmentτοῦ of theθεοῦ, God,εἰς intoτὸ theκαταξιωθῆναι to be counted down worthyὑμᾶς YOUτῆς of theβασιλείας kingdomτοῦ of theθεοῦ, God,ὑπὲρ overἧς whichκαὶ alsoπάσχετε. YOU are suffering. 6  εἴπερ If-evenδίκαιον righteous (thing)παρὰ besideθεῷ Godἀνταποδοῦναι to give back insteadτοῖς to the (ones)θλίβουσιν making tribulation forὑμᾶς YOUθλίψιν tribulation 7  καὶ andὑμῖν to YOUτοῖς the (ones)θλιβομένοις being put under tribulationἄνεσιν letting upμεθ’ withἡμῶν usἐν inτῇ theἀποκαλύψει revelationτοῦ of theκυρίου LordἸησοῦ Jesusἀπ’ fromοὐρανοῦ heavenμετ’ withἀγγέλων angelsδυνάμεως of powerαὐτοῦ of him 8  ἐν inπυρὶ fireφλογός, of flame,διδόντος of (one) givingἐκδίκησιν vengeanceτοῖς to the (ones)μὴ notεἰδόσι having knownθεὸν Godκαὶ andτοῖς to the (ones)μὴ notὑπακούουσιν obeyingτῷ to theεὐαγγελίῳ good newsτοῦ of theκυρίου Lordἡμῶν of usἸησοῦ, of Jesus, 9  οἵτινες which onesδίκην justiceτίσουσιν will payὄλεθρον destructionαἰώνιον everlastingἀπὸ fromπροσώπου faceτοῦ of theκυρίου Lordκαὶ andἀπὸ fromτῆς theδόξης gloryτῆς of theἰσχύος strengthαὐτοῦ, of him, 10  ὅταν wheneverἔλθῃ he should comeἐνδοξασθῆναι to be glorified withinἐν inτοῖς theἁγίοις holy (ones)αὐτοῦ of himκαὶ andθαυμασθῆναι to be wondered atἐν inπᾶσιν allτοῖς the (ones)πιστεύσασιν, having believed,ὅτι becauseἐπιστεύθη was believedτὸ theμαρτύριον witnessἡμῶν of usἐφ’ uponὑμᾶς, YOU,ἐν inτῇ theἡμέρᾳ dayἐκείνῃ. that. 11  Εἰς Intoὃ whichκαὶ alsoπροσευχόμεθα we are prayingπάντοτε alwaysπερὶ aboutὑμῶν, YOU,ἵνα in order thatὑμᾶς YOUἀξιώσῃ he might count worthyτῆς of theκλήσεως callingὁ theθεὸς Godἡμῶν of usκαὶ andπληρώσῃ he might fulfillπᾶσαν everyεὐδοκίαν well thinkingἀγαθωσύνης of goodnessκαὶ andἔργον workπίστεως of faithἐν inδυνάμει, power, 12  ὅπως so thatἐνδοξασθῇ might be glorified inτὸ theὄνομα nameτοῦ of theκυρίου Lordἡμῶν of usἸησοῦ Jesusἐν inὑμῖν, YOU,καὶ andὑμεῖς YOUἐν inαὐτῷ, him,κατὰ according toτὴν theχάριν undeserved kindnessτοῦ of theθεοῦ Godἡμῶν of usκαὶ andκυρίου of LordἸησοῦ JesusΧριστοῦ. Christ.
