2 Timothy 2:1-26

2  Σὺ Youοὖν, therefore,τέκνον childμου, of me,ἐνδυναμοῦ be being empoweredἐν inτῇ theχάριτι undeserved kindnessτῇ theἐν inΧριστῷ ChristἸησοῦ, Jesus, 2  καὶ andἃ what (things)ἤκουσας you heardπαρ’ besideἐμοῦ of meδιὰ throughπολλῶν manyμαρτύρων, witnesses,ταῦτα these (things)παράθου give you besideπιστοῖς to faithfulἀνθρώποις, men,οἵτινες whoἱκανοὶ sufficient (ones)ἔσονται will beκαὶ alsoἑτέρους different (ones)διδάξαι. to teach. 3  συνκακοπάθησον Suffer you bad withὡς asκαλὸς fineστρατιώτης soldierΧριστοῦ of ChristἸησοῦ. Jesus. 4  οὐδεὶς No oneστρατευόμενος doing military serviceἐμπλέκεται is involving himselfταῖς to theτοῦ of theβίου livingπραγματίαις, things performed,ἵνα in order thatτῷ to the (one)στρατολογήσαντι having enrolled as soldierἀρέσῃ· he might please; 5  ἐὰν if everδὲ butκαὶ alsoἀθλῇ may be acting as athleteτις, anyone,οὐ notστεφανοῦται he is being crownedἐὰν if everμὴ notνομίμως lawfullyἀθλήσῃ· he should act as athlete; 6  τὸν theκοπιῶντα laboringγεωργὸν farmerδεῖ it is bindingπρῶτον firstτῶν of theκαρπῶν fruitsμεταλαμβάνειν. to be partaking. 7  νόει Be you seeing mentallyὃ whatλέγω· I am saying;δώσει will giveγάρ forσοι to youὁ theκύριος Lordσύνεσιν comprehensionἐν inπᾶσιν. all (things). 8  μνημόνευε Be you rememberingἸησοῦν JesusΧριστὸν Christἐγηγερμένον having been raised upἐκ out ofνεκρῶν, dead (ones),ἐκ out ofσπέρματος seedΔαυείδ, of David,κατὰ according toτὸ theεὐαγγέλιόν good newsμου· of me; 9  ἐν inᾧ whichκακοπαθῶ I am suffering badμέχρι untilδεσμῶν bondsὡς asκακοῦργος. worker of bad.ἀλλὰ Butὁ theλόγος wordτοῦ of theθεοῦ Godοὐ notδέδεται· has been bound; 10  διὰ throughτοῦτο thisπάντα all (things)ὑπομένω I am enduringδιὰ throughτοὺς theἐκλεκτούς, chosen (ones),ἵνα in order thatκαὶ alsoαὐτοὶ theyσωτηρίας of salvationτύχωσιν they might obtainτῆς of the (one)ἐν inΧριστῷ ChristἸησοῦ Jesusμετὰ withδόξης gloryαἰωνίου. everlasting. 11  πιστὸς Faithfulὁ theλόγος· word;εἰ ifγὰρ forσυναπεθάνομεν, we died together,καὶ alsoσυνζήσομεν· we shall live together; 12  εἰ ifὑπομένομεν, we are enduring,καὶ alsoσυμβασιλεύσομεν· we shall reign together;εἰ ifἀρνησόμεθα, we shall deny,κἀκεῖνος also that (one)ἀρνήσεται will denyἡμᾶς· us; 13  εἰ ifἀπιστοῦμεν, we are unfaithful,ἐκεῖνος that (one)πιστὸς faithfulμένει, is remaining,ἀρνήσασθαι to denyγὰρ forἑαυτὸν himselfοὐ notδύναται. he is able. 14  Ταῦτα These (things)ὑπομίμνησκε, be you reminding under,διαμαρτυρόμενος bearing thorough witnessἐνώπιον in sightτοῦ of theθεοῦ, God,μὴ notλογομαχεῖν, to be fighting about words,ἐπ’ uponοὐδὲν nothingχρήσιμον, useful,ἐπὶ uponκαταστροφῇ overturningτῶν of the (ones)ἀκουόντων. hearing. 15  σπούδασον Speed you upσεαυτὸν yourselfδόκιμον approvedπαραστῆσαι to put alongsideτῷ to theθεῷ, God,ἐργάτην workmanἀνεπαίσχυντον, unashamed,ὀρθοτομοῦντα straightly cuttingτὸν theλόγον wordτῆς of theἀληθείας. truth. 16  τὰς Theδὲ butβεβήλους profaneκενοφωνίας empty voicingsπεριίστασο· be you standing around;ἐπὶ uponπλεῖον moreγὰρ forπροκόψουσιν they will strike beforeἀσεβείας, of irreverence, 17  καὶ andὁ theλόγος wordαὐτῶν of themὡς asγάγγραινα gangreneνομὴν pastureἕξει· it will be having;ὧν of whomἐστὶν isὙμέναιος Hymenaeusκαὶ andΦίλητος, Philetus, 18  οἵτινες whoπερὶ aboutτὴν theἀλήθειαν truthἠστόχησαν, they deviated,λέγοντες sayingἀνάστασιν resurrectionἤδη alreadyγεγονέναι, to have occurred,καὶ andἀνατρέπουσιν they are turning upτήν theτινων of some (ones)πίστιν. faith. 19  ὁ Theμέντοι indeed to youστερεὸς solidθεμέλιος foundationτοῦ of theθεοῦ Godἕστηκεν, has stood,ἔχων havingτὴν theσφραγῖδα sealταύτην thisἜγνω KnewΚύριος Lordτοὺς the (ones)ὄντας beingαὐτοῦ, of him,καί and᾿Αποστήτω Let stand offἀπὸ fromἀδικίας unrighteousnessπᾶς everyoneὁ the (one)ὀνομάζων namingτὸ theὄνομα nameΚυρίου. of Lord. 20  ἐν Inμεγάλῃ greatδὲ butοἰκίᾳ houseοὐκ notἔστιν isμόνον onlyσκεύη vesselsχρυσᾶ goldenκαὶ andἀργυρᾶ silveryἀλλὰ butκαὶ alsoξύλινα woodenκαὶ andὀστράκινα, of baked clay,καὶ andἃ which (ones)μὲν indeedεἰς intoτιμὴν honorἃ which (ones)δὲ butεἰς intoἀτιμίαν· dishonor; 21  ἐὰν if everοὖν thereforeτις anyoneἐκκαθάρῃ should clean outἑαυτὸν himselfἀπὸ fromτούτων, these (things),ἔσται he will beσκεῦος vesselεἰς intoτιμήν, honor,ἡγιασμένον, having been sanctified,εὔχρηστον well usefulτῷ to theδεσπότῃ, master,εἰς intoπᾶν everyἔργον workἀγαθὸν goodἡτοιμασμένον. having been prepared. 22  τὰς Theδὲ butνεωτερικὰς youthfulἐπιθυμίας desiresφεῦγε, be you fleeing,δίωκε be you pursuingδὲ butδικαιοσύνην, righteousness,πίστιν, faith,ἀγάπην, love,εἰρήνην peaceμετὰ withτῶν the (ones)ἐπικαλουμένων calling onτὸν theκύριον Lordἐκ out ofκαθαρᾶς cleanκαρδίας. heart. 23  τὰς Theδὲ butμωρὰς foolishκαὶ andἀπαιδεύτους uneducatedζητήσεις seekingsπαραιτοῦ, be asking off for yourself,εἰδὼς having knownὅτι thatγεννῶσι they are generatingμάχας· fights; 24  δοῦλον slaveδὲ butκυρίου of Lordοὐ notδεῖ it is bindingμάχεσθαι, to be fighting,ἀλλὰ butἤπιον gentleεἶναι to beπρὸς towardπάντας, all (ones),διδακτικόν, qualified to teach,ἀνεξίκακον, holding up under bad, 25  ἐν inπραΰτητι mildnessπαιδεύοντα instructingτοὺς the (ones)ἀντιδιατιθεμένους, putting selves thoroughly against,μή notποτε sometimeδῴη may he giveαὐτοῖς to themὁ theθεὸς Godμετάνοιαν repentanceεἰς intoἐπίγνωσιν accurate knowledgeἀληθείας, of truth, 26  καὶ andἀνανήψωσιν they might sober upἐκ out ofτῆς theτοῦ of theδιαβόλου Devilπαγίδος, snare,ἐζωγρημένοι (ones) having been caught aliveὑπ’ byαὐτοῦ himεἰς intoτὸ theἐκείνου of that (one)θέλημα. will.
