Acts 28:1-31

I am having lie around. 21  οἱ The (ones)δὲ butπρὸς towardαὐτὸν himεἶπαν saidἩμεῖς Weοὔτε neitherγράμματα writingsπερὶ aboutσοῦ youἐδεξάμεθα we receivedἀπὸ fromτῆς theἸουδαίας, Judea,οὔτε norπαραγενόμενός having come to be alongsideτις anyoneτῶν of theἀδελφῶν brothersἀπήγγειλεν he reported backἢ orἐλάλησέν he spokeτι anythingπερὶ aboutσοῦ youπονηρόν. wicked. 22  ἀξιοῦμεν We are considering worthyδὲ butπαρὰ besideσοῦ of youἀκοῦσαι to hearἃ what (things)φρονεῖς, you are minding,περὶ aboutμὲν indeedγὰρ forτῆς of theαἱρέσεως sectταύτης thisγνωστὸν knownἡμῖν to usἐστὶν it isὅτι thatπανταχοῦ everywhereἀντιλέγεται. it is being said against. 23  Ταξάμενοι Having arrangedδὲ butαὐτῷ to himἡμέραν dayἦλθαν they cameπρὸς towardαὐτὸν himεἰς intoτὴν theξενίαν lodging (place)πλείονες, more (ones),οἷς to whomἐξετίθετο he was setting outδιαμαρτυρόμενος thoroughly witnessing toτὴν theβασιλείαν kingdomτοῦ of theθεοῦ Godπείθων persuadingτε andαὐτοὺς themπερὶ aboutτοῦ theἸησοῦ Jesusἀπό fromτε andτοῦ theνόμου lawΜωυσέως of Mosesκαὶ andτῶν of theπροφητῶν Prophetsἀπὸ fromπρωὶ morningἕως untilἑσπέρας. evening. 24  Καὶ Andοἱ the (ones)μὲν indeedἐπείθοντο were being persuadedτοῖς to the (things)λεγομένοις being saidοἱ the (ones)δὲ butἠπίστουν, were disbelieving, 25  ἀσύμφωνοι dissonantδὲ butὄντες beingπρὸς towardἀλλήλους one anotherἀπελύοντο, they were loosing selves off,εἰπόντος having saidτοῦ of theΠαύλου Paulῥῆμα sayingἓν oneὅτι that Καλῶς Finelyτὸ theπνεῦμα spiritτὸ theἅγιον holyἐλάλησεν spokeδιὰ throughἨσαίου Isaiahτοῦ theπροφήτου prophetπρὸς towardτοὺς theπατέρας fathersὑμῶν of YOU 26  λέγων sayingΠορεύθητι Goπρὸς towardτὸν theλαὸν peopleτοῦτον thisκαὶ andεἰπόν say᾿Ακοῇ To hearingἀκούσετε YOU will be hearingκαὶ andοὐ notμὴ notσυνῆτε, YOU should put together,καὶ andβλέποντες lookingβλέψετε YOU will be lookingκαὶ andοὐ notμὴ notἴδητε· YOU should see; 27  ἐπαχύνθη was thickenedγὰρ forἡ theκαρδία heartτοῦ of theλαοῦ peopleτούτου, this,καὶ andτοῖς to theὠσὶν earsβαρέως heavilyἤκουσαν, they heard,καὶ andτοὺς theὀφθαλμοὺς eyesαὐτῶν of themἐκάμμυσαν· they shut down;μή notποτε at sometimeἴδωσιν they should seeτοῖς to theὀφθαλμοῖς eyesκαὶ andτοῖς to theὠσὶν earsἀκούσωσιν they should hearκαὶ andτῇ to theκαρδίᾳ heartσυνῶσιν they should put togetherκαὶ andἐπιστρέψωσιν, they should return,καὶ andἰάσομαι I shall healαὐτούς. them. 28  γνωστὸν Knownοὖν thereforeὑμῖν to YOUἔστω let it beὅτι thatτοῖς to theἔθνεσιν nationsἀπεστάλη was sent offτοῦτο thisτὸ theσωτήριον means of salvationτοῦ of theθεοῦ· God;αὐτοὶ theyκαὶ andἀκούσονται. they will hear. 29  —— —— 30  ᾿Ενέμεινεν He remained inδὲ butδιετίαν two-year periodὅλην wholeἐν inἰδίῳ ownμισθώματι, hired house,καὶ andἀπεδέχετο was receiving fromπάντας allτοὺς the (ones)εἰσπορευομένους going inπρὸς towardαὐτόν, him, 31  κηρύσσων preachingτὴν theβασιλείαν kingdomτοῦ of theθεοῦ Godκαὶ andδιδάσκων teachingτὰ the (things)περὶ aboutτοῦ theκυρίου LordἸησοῦ JesusΧριστοῦ Christμετὰ withπάσης allπαρρησίας outspokennessἀκωλύτως. unhinderedly.
