Ephesians 1:1-23

1  Παῦλος Paul,ἀπόστολος apostleΧριστοῦ of ChristἸησοῦ Jesusδιὰ throughθελήματος willθεοῦ of Godτοῖς to theἁγίοις holy (ones)τοῖς theοὖσιν beingἐν in᾿Εφέσῳ Ephesusκαὶ andπιστοῖς to faithful (ones)ἐν inΧριστῷ ChristἸησοῦ· Jesus; 2  χάρις undeserved kindnessὑμῖν to YOUκαὶ andεἰρήνη peaceἀπὸ fromθεοῦ Godπατρὸς Fatherἡμῶν of usκαὶ andκυρίου of LordἸησοῦ JesusΧριστοῦ. Christ. 3  Εὐλογητὸς Blessedὁ theθεὸς Godκαὶ andπατὴρ Fatherτοῦ of theκυρίου Lordἡμῶν of usἸησοῦ of JesusΧριστοῦ, Christ,ὁ the (one)εὐλογήσας having blessedἡμᾶς usἐν inπάσῃ everyεὐλογίᾳ blessingπνευματικῇ spiritualἐν inτοῖς theἐπουρανίοις heavenly [places]ἐν inΧριστῷ, Christ, 4  καθὼς according asἐξελέξατο he choseἡμᾶς usἐν inαὐτῷ himπρὸ beforeκαταβολῆς throwing downκόσμου, of world,εἶναι to beἡμᾶς usἁγίους holyκαὶ andἀμώμους unblemishedκατενώπιον down in sightαὐτοῦ of himἐν inἀγάπῃ, love, 5  προορίσας having defined beforeἡμᾶς usεἰς intoυἱοθεσίαν placing (as) sonδιὰ throughἸησοῦ JesusΧριστοῦ Christεἰς intoαὐτόν, him,κατὰ according toτὴν theεὐδοκίαν thinking wellτοῦ of theθελήματος willαὐτοῦ, of him, 6  εἰς intoἔπαινον praiseδόξης of gloryτῆς of theχάριτος undeserved kindnessαὐτοῦ of himἧς of whichἐχαρίτωσεν he favoredἡμᾶς usἐν inτῷ the (one)ἠγαπημένῳ, having been loved, 7  ἐν inᾧ whomἔχομεν we are havingτὴν theἀπολύτρωσιν release by ransomδιὰ throughτοῦ theαἵματος bloodαὐτοῦ, of him,τὴν theἄφεσιν letting go offτῶν of theπαραπτωμάτων, falls beside,κατὰ according toτὸ theπλοῦτος richesτῆς of theχάριτος undeserved kindnessαὐτοῦ of him 8  ἧς of whichἐπερίσσευσεν he caused to aboundεἰς intoἡμᾶς usἐν inπάσῃ allσοφίᾳ wisdomκαὶ andφρονήσει, sensibleness, 9  γνωρίσας having made knownἡμῖν to usτὸ theμυστήριον mysteryτοῦ of theθελήματος willαὐτοῦ, of him,κατὰ according toτὴν theεὐδοκίαν thinking wellαὐτοῦ of himἣν whichπροέθετο he placed before selfἐν inαὐτῷ him 10  εἰς intoοἰκονομίαν house administrationτοῦ of theπληρώματος fullnessτῶν of theκαιρῶν, appointed times,ἀνακεφαλαιώσασθαι to head upτὰ theπάντα all (things)ἐν inτῷ theχριστῷ, Christ,τὰ the (things)ἐπὶ uponτοῖς theοὐρανοῖς heavensκαὶ andτὰ the (things)ἐπὶ uponτῆς theγῆς· earth;ἐν inαὐτῷ, him, 11  ἐν inᾧ whomκαὶ alsoἐκληρώθημεν we were assigned by lotπροορισθέντες having been defined beforeκατὰ according toπρόθεσιν purposeτοῦ of the (one)τὰ theπάντα all (things)ἐνεργοῦντος working inκατὰ according toτὴν theβουλὴν counselτοῦ of theθελήματος willαὐτοῦ, of him, 12  εἰς intoτὸ theεἶναι to beἡμᾶς usεἰς intoἔπαινον praiseδόξης of gloryαὐτοῦ of himτοὺς the (ones)προηλπικότας having hoped beforeἐν inτῷ theχριστῷ· Christ; 13  ἐν inᾧ whomκαὶ alsoὑμεῖς YOUἀκούσαντες having heardτὸν theλόγον wordτῆς of theἀληθείας, truth,τὸ theεὐαγγέλιον good newsτῆς of theσωτηρίας salvationὑμῶν, of YOU,ἐν inᾧ whomκαὶ alsoπιστεύσαντες, having believed,ἐσφραγίσθητε YOU were sealedτῷ to theπνεύματι spiritτῆς of theἐπαγγελίας promiseτῷ to theἁγίῳ, holy, 14  ὅ which (thing)ἐστιν isἀρραβὼν tokenτῆς of theκληρονομίας inheritanceἡμῶν, of us,εἰς intoἀπολύτρωσιν releasing by ransomτῆς of theπεριποιήσεως, thing preserved,εἰς intoἔπαινον praiseτῆς of theδόξης gloryαὐτοῦ. of him. 15  Διὰ Throughτοῦτο thisκἀγώ, also I,ἀκούσας having heardτὴν theκαθ’ according toὑμᾶς YOUπίστιν faithἐν inτῷ theκυρίῳ LordἸησοῦ Jesusκαὶ andτὴν the [faith]εἰς intoπάντας allτοὺς theἁγίους, holy (ones), 16  οὐ notπαύομαι I am ceasingεὐχαριστῶν thankingὑπὲρ overὑμῶν YOUμνείαν mentionποιούμενος makingἐπὶ uponτῶν theπροσευχῶν prayersμου, of me, 17  ἵνα in order thatὁ theθεὸς Godτοῦ of theκυρίου Lordἡμῶν of usἸησοῦ JesusΧριστοῦ, Christ,ὁ theπατὴρ Fatherτῆς of theδόξης, glory,δῴη would giveὑμῖν to YOUπνεῦμα spiritσοφίας of wisdomκαὶ andἀποκαλύψεως of revelationἐν inἐπιγνώσει accurate knowledgeαὐτοῦ, of him, 18  πεφωτισμένους having been enlightenedτοὺς theὀφθαλμοὺς eyesτῆς of theκαρδίας heartὑμῶν of YOUεἰς intoτὸ theεἰδέναι to have knownὑμᾶς YOUτίς whatἐστιν isἡ theἐλπὶς hopeτῆς of theκλήσεως callingαὐτοῦ, of him,τίς whatὁ theπλοῦτος richesτῆς of theδόξης gloryτῆς of theκληρονομίας inheritanceαὐτοῦ of himἐν inτοῖς theἁγίοις, holy (ones), 19  καὶ andτί whatτὸ theὑπερβάλλον surpassingμέγεθος greatnessτῆς of theδυνάμεως powerαὐτοῦ of himεἰς intoἡμᾶς usτοὺς the (ones)πιστεύοντας believingκατὰ according toτὴν theἐνέργειαν operation withinτοῦ of theκράτους mightinessτῆς of theἰσχύος strengthαὐτοῦ of him 20  ἣν whichἐνήργηκεν he has worked inἐν inτῷ theχριστῷ Christἐγείρας having raised upαὐτὸν himἐκ out ofνεκρῶν, dead (ones),καὶ andκαθίσας having seatedἐν inδεξιᾷ right [hand]αὐτοῦ of himἐν inτοῖς theἐπουρανίοις heavenly [places] 21  ὑπεράνω over-upwardπάσης of everyἀρχῆς governmentκαὶ andἐξουσίας of authorityκαὶ andδυνάμεως of powerκαὶ andκυριότητος of lordshipκαὶ andπαντὸς of everyὀνόματος nameὀνομαζομένου being namedοὐ notμόνον onlyἐν inτῷ theαἰῶνι ageτούτῳ thisἀλλὰ butκαὶ alsoἐν inτῷ the (one)μέλλοντι· being about (to be); 22  καὶ andπάντα all (things)ὑπέταξεν he subjectedὑπὸ underτοὺς theπόδας feetαὐτοῦ, of him,καὶ andαὐτὸν himἔδωκεν he gaveκεφαλὴν headὑπὲρ overπάντα all (things)τῇ to theἐκκλησίᾳ, ecclesia, 23  ἥτις whichἐστὶν isτὸ theσῶμα bodyαὐτοῦ, of him,τὸ theπλήρωμα fullnessτοῦ of the (one)τὰ theπάντα all (things)ἐν inπᾶσιν all (things)πληρουμένου. of (one) filling.
