Ephesians 2:1-22

2  καὶ Andὑμᾶς YOUὄντας beingνεκροὺς dead (ones)τοῖς to theπαραπτώμασιν falls besideκαὶ andταῖς to theἁμαρτίαις sinsὑμῶν, of YOU, 2  ἐν inαἷς whichποτὲ sometimeπεριεπατήσατε YOU walkedκατὰ according toτὸν theαἰῶνα ageτοῦ of theκόσμου worldτούτου, this,κατὰ according toτὸν theἄρχοντα rulerτῆς of theἐξουσίας authorityτοῦ of theἀέρος, air,τοῦ of theπνεύματος spiritτοῦ theνῦν nowἐνεργοῦντος operating withinἐν inτοῖς theυἱοῖς sonsτῆς of theἀπειθίας· disobedience; 3  ἐν inοἷς whomκαὶ alsoἡμεῖς weπάντες allἀνεστράφημέν were turned upποτε sometimeἐν inταῖς theἐπιθυμίαις desiresτῆς of theσαρκὸς fleshἡμῶν, of us,ποιοῦντες doingτὰ theθελήματα willsτῆς of theσαρκὸς fleshκαὶ andτῶν of theδιανοιῶν, mental perceptions,καὶ andἤμεθα we wereτέκνα childrenφύσει to natureὀργῆς of wrathὡς asκαὶ alsoοἱ theλοιποί·— leftover (ones);— 4  ὁ theδὲ butθεὸς Godπλούσιος richὢν beingἐν inἐλέει, mercy,διὰ throughτὴν theπολλὴν muchἀγάπην loveαὐτοῦ of himἣν whichἠγάπησεν he lovedἡμᾶς, us, 5  καὶ andὄντας beingἡμᾶς usνεκροὺς dead (ones)τοῖς in theπαραπτώμασιν falls besideσυνεζωοποίησεν he made alive withτῷ to theχριστῷ,— Christ,—χάριτί to undeserved kindnessἐστε YOU areσεσωσμένοι,— having been saved,— 6  καὶ andσυνήγειρεν he raised up togetherκαὶ andσυνεκάθισεν he seated togetherἐν inτοῖς theἐπουρανίοις heavenly [places]ἐν inΧριστῷ ChristἸησοῦ, Jesus, 7  ἵνα in order thatἐνδείξηται he might show withinἐν inτοῖς theαἰῶσιν agesτοῖς the (ones)ἐπερχομένοις coming uponτὸ theὑπερβάλλον surpassingπλοῦτος richesτῆς of theχάριτος undeserved kindnessαὐτοῦ of himἐν inχρηστότητι kindnessἐφ’ uponἡμᾶς usἐν inΧριστῷ ChristἸησοῦ. Jesus. 8  τῇ To theγὰρ forχάριτί undeserved kindnessἐστε YOU areσεσωσμένοι having been savedδιὰ throughπίστεως· faith;καὶ andτοῦτο thisοὐκ notἐξ out ofὑμῶν, YOU,θεοῦ of Godτὸ theδῶρον· gift; 9  οὐκ notἐξ out ofἔργων, works,ἵνα in order thatμή notτις someoneκαυχήσηται. should boast. 10  αὐτοῦ Of himγάρ forἐσμεν we areποίημα, thing made,κτισθέντες (ones) having been createdἐν inΧριστῷ ChristἸησοῦ Jesusἐπὶ uponἔργοις worksἀγαθοῖς goodοἷς to whichπροητοίμασεν he prepared beforeὁ theθεὸς Godἵνα in order thatἐν inαὐτοῖς themπεριπατήσωμεν. we might walk. 11  Διὸ Through whichμνημονεύετε be YOU rememberingὅτι thatποτὲ sometimeὑμεῖς YOUτὰ theἔθνη nationsἐν inσαρκί, flesh,οἱ the (ones)λεγόμενοι being saidἀκροβυστία uncircumcisionὑπὸ byτῆς theλεγομένης being saidπεριτομῆς circumcisionἐν inσαρκὶ fleshχειροποιήτου,— made by hand,— 12  ὅτι thatἦτε YOU wereτῷ to theκαιρῷ appointed timeἐκείνῳ thatχωρὶς apart fromΧριστοῦ, Christ,ἀπηλλοτριωμένοι having been alienated fromτῆς theπολιτείας citizenryτοῦ of theἸσραὴλ Israelκαὶ andξένοι strangersτῶν of theδιαθηκῶν covenantsτῆς of theἐπαγγελίας, promise,ἐλπίδα hopeμὴ notἔχοντες havingκαὶ andἄθεοι godlessἐν inτῷ theκόσμῳ. world. 13  νυνὶ Nowδὲ butἐν inΧριστῷ ChristἸησοῦ Jesusὑμεῖς YOUοἵ the (ones)ποτε sometimeὄντες beingμακρὰν long [way]ἐγενήθητε YOU becameἐγγὺς nearἐν inτῷ theαἵματι bloodτοῦ of theχριστοῦ. Christ. 14  Αὐτὸς Heγάρ forἐστιν isἡ theεἰρήνη peaceἡμῶν, of us,ὁ the (one)ποιήσας having madeτὰ the (things)ἀμφότερα bothἓν oneκαὶ andτὸ theμεσότοιχον middle wallτοῦ of theφραγμοῦ fenceλύσας, having loosed, 15  τὴν theἔχθραν enmityἐν inτῇ theσαρκὶ fleshαὐτοῦ, of him,τὸν theνόμον Lawτῶν of theἐντολῶν commandmentsἐν inδόγμασιν decreesκαταργήσας, having made ineffective,ἵνα in order thatτοὺς theδύο twoκτίσῃ he might createἐν inαὑτῷ himselfεἰς intoἕνα oneκαινὸν newἄνθρωπον manποιῶν makingεἰρήνην, peace, 16  καὶ andἀποκαταλλάξῃ he might fully reconcileτοὺς theἀμφοτέρους bothἐν inἑνὶ oneσώματι bodyτῷ to theθεῷ Godδιὰ throughτοῦ theσταυροῦ stakeἀποκτείνας having killedτὴν theἔχθραν enmityἐν inαὐτῷ· him; 17  καὶ andἐλθὼν having comeεὐηγγελίσατο he declared as good newsεἰρήνην peaceὑμῖν to YOUτοῖς the (ones)μακρὰν long [way]καὶ andεἰρήνην peaceτοῖς to the (ones)ἐγγύς· near; 18  ὅτι becauseδι’ throughαὐτοῦ himἔχομεν we are havingτὴν theπροσαγωγὴν leading towardοἱ theἀμφότεροι bothἐν inἑνὶ oneπνεύματι spiritπρὸς towardτὸν theπατέρα. Father. 19  Ἄρα Reallyοὖν thereforeοὐκέτι not yetἐστὲ YOU areξένοι strangersκαὶ andπάροικοι, dwellers beside,ἀλλὰ butἐστὲ YOU areσυνπολῖται fellow citizensτῶν of theἁγίων holy (ones)καὶ andοἰκεῖοι household [members]τοῦ of theθεοῦ, God, 20  ἐποικοδομηθέντες having been built upἐπὶ uponτῷ theθεμελίῳ foundationτῶν of theἀποστόλων apostlesκαὶ andπροφητῶν, of prophets,ὄντος beingἀκρογωνιαίου top corner (stone)αὐτοῦ of himΧριστοῦ of ChristἸησοῦ, Jesus, 21  ἐν inᾧ whomπᾶσα allοἰκοδομὴ buildingσυναρμολογουμένη being jointed togetherαὔξει is growingεἰς intoναὸν divine habitationἅγιον holyἐν inκυρίῳ, Lord, 22  ἐν inᾧ whomκαὶ alsoὑμεῖς YOUσυνοικοδομεῖσθε are being built up togetherεἰς intoκατοικητήριον dwelling placeτοῦ of theθεοῦ Godἐν inπνεύματι. spirit.
