John 21:1-25

21  Μετὰ Afterταῦτα these (things)ἐφανέρωσεν manifestedἑαυτὸν himselfπάλιν againἸησοῦς Jesusτοῖς to theμαθηταῖς disciplesἐπὶ uponτῆς theθαλάσσης seaτῆς of theΤιβεριάδος· Tiberias;ἐφανέρωσεν he made manifestationδὲ butοὕτως. thus. 2  ῏Ησαν Wereὁμοῦ togetherΣίμων SimonΠέτρος Peterκαὶ andΘωμᾶς Thomasthe (one)λεγόμενος being saidΔίδυμος Twinκαὶ andΝαθαναὴλ Nathanaelthe (one)ἀπὸ fromΚανὰ Canaτῆς of theΓαλιλαίας Galileeκαὶ andοἱ the [sons]τοῦ of theΖεβεδαίου Zebedeeκαὶ andἄλλοι othersἐκ out ofτῶν theμαθητῶν disciplesαὐτοῦ of himδύο. two. 3  λέγει Is sayingαὐτοῖς to themΣίμων SimonΠέτρος PeterὙπάγω I am going underἁλιεύειν· to be fishing;λέγουσιν they are sayingαὐτῷ to him᾿Ερχόμεθα We are comingκαὶ alsoἡμεῖς weσὺν together withσοί. you.ἐξῆλθαν They went outκαὶ andἐνέβησαν they stepped inεἰς intoτὸ theπλοῖον, boat,καὶ andἐν inἐκείνῃ thatτῇ theνυκτὶ nightἐπίασαν they caughtοὐδέν. nothing. 4  πρωίας Of morningδὲ butἤδη alreadyγινομένης coming to beἔστη stoodἸησοῦς Jesusεἰς intoτὸν theαἰγιαλόν· beach;οὐ notμέντοι of courseᾔδεισαν had knownοἱ theμαθηταὶ disciplesὅτι thatἸησοῦς Jesusἐστίν. it is. 5  λέγει Is sayingοὖν thereforeαὐτοῖς to themἸησοῦς JesusΠαιδία, Little children,μή notτι anyπροσφάγιον eatableἔχετε; are having YOU?ἀπεκρίθησαν They answeredαὐτῷ to himΟὔ. No. 6  The (one)δὲ butεἶπεν saidαὐτοῖς to themΒάλετε Cast YOUεἰς intoτὰ theδεξιὰ rightμέρη partsτοῦ of theπλοίου boatτὸ theδίκτυον, net,καὶ andεὑρήσετε. YOU will find.ἔβαλον They castοὖν, therefore,καὶ andοὐκέτι not yetαὐτὸ itἑλκύσαι to drawἴσχυον they were strong enoughἀπὸ fromτοῦ theπλήθους multitudeτῶν of theἰχθύων. fishes. 7  λέγει Is sayingοὖν thereforetheμαθητὴς discipleἐκεῖνος thatὃν whomἠγάπα was lovingtheἸησοῦς Jesusτῷ to theΠέτρῳ PeterTheκύριός Lordἐστιν. it is.Σίμων Simonοὖν thereforeΠέτρος, Peter,ἀκούσας having heardὅτι thattheκύριός Lordἐστιν, it is,τὸν theἐπενδύτην top garmentδιεζώσατο, girded himself through,ἦν wasγὰρ forγυμνός, naked,καὶ andἔβαλεν threwἑαυτὸν himselfεἰς intoτὴν theθάλασσαν· sea; 8  οἱ theδὲ butἄλλοι otherμαθηταὶ disciplesτῷ to theπλοιαρίῳ little boatἦλθον, came,οὐ notγὰρ forἦσαν they wereμακρὰν long [way]ἀπὸ fromτῆς theγῆς earthἀλλὰ butὡς asἀπὸ fromπηχῶν cubitsδιακοσίων, two hundred,σύροντες draggingτὸ theδίκτυον netτῶν of theἰχθύων. fishes. 9  Ὡς Asοὖν thereforeἀπέβησαν they stepped offεἰς intoτὴν theγῆν earthβλέπουσιν they are looking atἀνθρακιὰν charcoal fireκειμένην lyingκαὶ andὀψάριον eating [fish]ἐπικείμενον lying uponκαὶ andἄρτον. bread. 10  λέγει Is sayingαὐτοῖς to themtheἸησοῦς Jesus᾿Ενέγκατε Bear YOUἀπὸ fromτῶν theὀψαρίων eating [fishes]ὧν of whichἐπιάσατε YOU caughtνῦν. now. 11  ἀνέβη Went upοὖν thereforeΣίμων SimonΠέτρος Peterκαὶ andεἵλκυσεν he drewτὸ theδίκτυον netεἰς intoτὴν theγῆν earthμεστὸν fullἰχθύων of fishesμεγάλων greatἑκατὸν one hundredπεντήκοντα fifty-τριῶν· three;καὶ andτοσούτων of so manyὄντων beingοὐκ notἐσχίσθη was splitτὸ theδίκτυον. net. 12  λέγει Is sayingαὐτοῖς to themtheἸησοῦς JesusΔεῦτε Hitherἀριστήσατε. breakfast YOU.οὐδεὶς No oneἐτόλμα was daringτῶν of theμαθητῶν disciplesἐξετάσαι to search outαὐτόν himΣὺ Youτίς whoεἶ; are you?εἰδότες having knownὅτι thattheκύριός Lordἐστιν. it is. 13  ἔρχεται Is comingἸησοῦς Jesusκαὶ andλαμβάνει he is takingτὸν theἄρτον breadκαὶ andδίδωσιν he is givingαὐτοῖς, to them,καὶ andτὸ theὀψάριον eating [fish]ὁμοίως. likewise. 14  Τοῦτο Thisἤδη alreadyτρίτον third [time]ἐφανερώθη was manifestedἸησοῦς Jesusτοῖς to theμαθηταῖς disciplesἐγερθεὶς having been raised upἐκ out ofνεκρῶν. dead (ones). 15  Ὅτε Whenοὖν thereforeἠρίστησαν they breakfastedλέγει is sayingτῷ to theΣίμωνι SimonΠέτρῳ PetertheἸησοῦς JesusΣίμων SimonἸωάνου, [son] of John,ἀγαπᾷς are you lovingμε meπλέον moreτούτων; of these?λέγει He is sayingαὐτῷ to himΝαί, Yes,κύριε, Lord,σὺ youοἶδας have knownὅτι thatφιλῶ I am having affection forσε. you.λέγει He is sayingαὐτῷ to himΒόσκε Be you feedingτὰ theἀρνία young lambsμου. of me. 16  λέγει He is sayingαὐτῷ to himπάλιν againδεύτερον second [time]Σίμων SimonἸωάνου, [son] of John,ἀγαπᾷς are you lovingμε; me?λέγει He is sayingαὐτῷ to himΝαί, Yes,κύριε, Lord,σὺ youοἶδας have knownὅτι thatφιλῶ I am having affection forσε. you.λέγει He is sayingαὐτῷ to himΠοίμαινε Be shepherdingτὰ theπροβάτιά little sheepμου. of me. 17  λέγει He is sayingαὐτῷ to himτὸ theτρίτον third [time]Σίμων SimonἸωάνου, [son] of John,φιλεῖς are you having affection forμε; me?ἐλυπήθη Was grievedtheΠέτρος Peterὅτι becauseεἶπεν he saidαὐτῷ to himτὸ theτρίτον third [time]Φιλεῖς Are you having affection forμε; me?καὶ Andεἶπεν he saidαὐτῷ to himΚύριε, Lord,πάντα all (things)σὺ youοἶδας, have known,σὺ youγινώσκεις are knowingὅτι thatφιλῶ I am having affection forσε. you.λέγει Is sayingαὐτῷ to himἸησοῦς JesusΒόσκε Be feedingτὰ theπροβάτιά little sheepμου. of me. 18  ἀμὴν Amen.ἀμὴν amenλέγω I am sayingσοι, to you,ὅτε whenἦς you wereνεώτερος, younger,ἐζώννυες you were girdingσεαυτὸν yourselfκαὶ andπεριεπάτεις you were walking aboutὅπου whereἤθελες· you willed;ὅταν wheneverδὲ butγηράσῃς, you should grow old,ἐκτενεῖς you will stretch outτὰς theχεῖράς handsσου, of you,καὶ andἄλλος anotherζώσει will girdσε youκαὶ andοἴσει he will bearὅπου whereοὐ notθέλεις. you are willing. 19  τοῦτο Thisδὲ butεἶπεν he saidσημαίνων signifyingποίῳ to what sort ofθανάτῳ deathδοξάσει he will glorifyτὸν theθεόν. God.καὶ Andτοῦτο thisεἰπὼν having saidλέγει he is sayingαὐτῷ to him᾿Ακολούθει Be followingμοι. to me. 20  ᾿Επιστραφεὶς Having turned about upontheΠέτρος Peterβλέπει is looking atτὸν theμαθητὴν discipleὃν whomἠγάπα was lovingtheἸησοῦς Jesusἀκολουθοῦντα, following,ὃς whoκαὶ alsoἀνέπεσεν fell upwardἐν inτῷ theδείπνῳ supperἐπὶ uponτὸ theστῆθος breastαὐτοῦ of himκαὶ andεἶπεν he saidΚύριε, Lord,τίς whoἐστιν isthe (one)παραδιδούς giving besideσε; you? 21  τοῦτον This (one)οὖν thereforeἰδὼν having seentheΠέτρος Peterλέγει is sayingτῷ to theἸησοῦ JesusΚύριε, Lord,οὗτος this (one)δὲ butτί; what? 22  λέγει Is sayingαὐτῷ to himtheἸησοῦς Jesus᾿Εὰν If everαὐτὸν himθέλω I am willingμένειν to be remainingἕως untilἔρχομαι, I am coming,τί whatπρὸς towardσέ; you?σύ Youμοι to meἀκολούθει. be following. 23  ᾿Εξῆλθεν Went forthοὖν thereforeοὗτος thistheλόγος wordεἰς intoτοὺς theἀδελφοὺς brothersὅτι thattheμαθητὴς discipleἐκεῖνος thatοὐκ notἀποθνήσκει. is dying.οὐκ Notεἶπεν saidδὲ butαὐτῷ to himtheἸησοῦς Jesusὅτι thatοὐκ notἀποθνήσκει, he is dying,ἀλλ’ but᾿Εὰν Ifαὐτὸν himθέλω I am willingμένειν to be remainingἕως untilἔρχομαι, I am coming,τί whatπρὸς towardσέ; you? 24  Οὗτός Thisἐστιν istheμαθητὴς disciplethe (one)μαρτυρῶν witnessingπερὶ aboutτούτων these (things)καὶ andthe (one)γράψας having writtenταῦτα, these (things),καὶ andοἴδαμεν we have knownὅτι thatἀληθὴς trueαὐτοῦ of himtheμαρτυρία witnessἐστίν. is. 25  Ἔστιν Isδὲ butκαὶ alsoἄλλα otherπολλὰ manywhichἐποίησεν didtheἸησοῦς, Jesus,ἅτινα which (things),ἐὰν if everγράφηται it may be writtenκαθ’ downἕν, one (thing),οὐδ’ not-butαὐτὸν veryοἶμαι I am supposingτὸν theκόσμον worldχωρήσειν to afford space in future forτὰ theγραφόμενα being writtenβιβλία. scrolls.
