Philippians 2:1-30

2  Εἴ Ifτις anyοὖν thereforeπαράκλησις encouragementἐν inΧριστῷ, Christ,εἴ ifτι anyπαραμύθιον consolationἀγάπης, of love,εἴ ifτις anyκοινωνία sharingπνεύματος, of spirit,εἴ ifτις anyσπλάγχνα bowelsκαὶ andοἰκτιρμοί, compassions, 2  πληρώσατέ fill YOUμου of meτὴν theχαρὰν joyἵνα in order thatτὸ theαὐτὸ very (thing)φρονῆτε, YOU may be minding,τὴν theαὐτὴν veryἀγάπην loveἔχοντες, having,σύνψυχοι, together in soul,τὸ theἓν one (thing)φρονοῦντες, minding, 3  μηδὲν nothingκατ’ according toἐριθίαν contentiousnessμηδὲ norκατὰ according toκενοδοξίαν, vainglory,ἀλλὰ butτῇ to theταπεινοφροσύνῃ lowly-mindednessἀλλήλους one anotherἡγούμενοι consideringὑπερέχοντας (ones) having overἑαυτῶν, of selves, 4  μὴ notτὰ the (things)ἑαυτῶν of selvesἕκαστοι each (ones)σκοποῦντες, looking at,ἀλλὰ butκαὶ alsoτὰ the (things)ἑτέρων of different (ones)ἕκαστοι. each (ones). 5  τοῦτο Thisφρονεῖτε be YOU mindingἐν inὑμῖν YOUwhichκαὶ alsoἐν inΧριστῷ ChristἸησοῦ, Jesus, 6  ὃς whoἐν inμορφῇ formθεοῦ of Godὑπάρχων existingοὐχ notἁρπαγμὸν snatchingἡγήσατο he consideredτὸ theεἶναι to beἴσα equal (things)θεῷ, to God, 7  ἀλλὰ butἑαυτὸν himselfἐκένωσεν he emptiedμορφὴν formδούλου of slaveλαβών, having taken,ἐν inὁμοιώματι likenessἀνθρώπων of menγενόμενος· having become; 8  καὶ andσχήματι to fashionεὑρεθεὶς having been foundὡς asἄνθρωπος manἐταπείνωσεν he made lowlyἑαυτὸν himselfγενόμενος having becomeὑπήκοος obedientμέχρι untilθανάτου, death,θανάτου of deathδὲ butσταυροῦ· of stake; 9  διὸ through whichκαὶ alsotheθεὸς Godαὐτὸν himὑπερύψωσεν, put high up over,καὶ andἐχαρίσατο he graciously gaveαὐτῷ to himτὸ theὄνομα nameτὸ theὑπὲρ overπᾶν everyὄνομα, name, 10  ἵνα in order thatἐν inτῷ theὀνόματι nameἸησοῦ of Jesusπᾶν everyγόνυ kneeκάμψῃ should bendἐπουρανίων of those in heavenκαὶ andἐπιγείων of those on earthκαὶ andκαταχθονίων, of those underground, 11  καὶ andπᾶσα everyγλῶσσα tongueἐξομολογήσηται should confess outὅτι thatΚύριος LordἸησοῦς JesusΧριστὸς Christεἰς intoδόξαν gloryθεοῦ of Godπατρός. Father. 12  Ὥστε, As-and,ἀγαπητοί loved (ones)μου, of me,καθὼς according asπάντοτε alwaysὑπηκούσατε, YOU obeyed,μὴ notὡς asἐν inτῇ theπαρουσίᾳ presenceμου of meμόνον onlyἀλλὰ butνῦν nowπολλῷ to muchμᾶλλον ratherἐν inτῇ theἀπουσίᾳ absenceμου, of me,μετὰ withφόβου fearκαὶ andτρόμου tremblingτὴν theἑαυτῶν of selvesσωτηρίαν salvationκατεργάζεσθε, be YOU working down, 13  θεὸς Godγάρ forἐστιν isthe (one)ἐνεργῶν working withinἐν inὑμῖν YOUκαὶ bothτὸ theθέλειν to be willingκαὶ andτὸ theἐνεργεῖν to be working withinὑπὲρ overτῆς theεὐδοκίας· well-thinking; 14  πάντα all (things)ποιεῖτε be YOU doingχωρὶς apart fromγογγυσμῶν murmuringsκαὶ andδιαλογισμῶν· divided reckonings; 15  ἵνα in order thatγένησθε YOU may becomeἄμεμπτοι blamelessκαὶ andἀκέραιοι, unblended,τέκνα childrenθεοῦ of Godἄμωμα unblemishedμέσον (in) midstγενεᾶς of generationσκολιᾶς crookedκαὶ andδιεστραμμένης, turned through,ἐν inοἷς whomφαίνεσθε YOU are shiningὡς asφωστῆρες illuminatorsἐν inκόσμῳ world 16  λόγον wordζωῆς of lifeἐπέχοντες, having upon,εἰς intoκαύχημα boastingἐμοὶ to meεἰς intoἡμέραν dayΧριστοῦ, of Christ,ὅτι thatοὐκ notεἰς intoκενὸν empti (ness)ἔδραμον I ranοὐδὲ norεἰς intoκενὸν empti (ness)ἐκοπίασα. I labored. 17  ᾿Αλλὰ Butεἰ ifκαὶ alsoσπένδομαι I am being poured as libationἐπὶ uponτῇ theθυσίᾳ sacrificeκαὶ andλειτουργίᾳ public workτῆς of theπίστεως faithὑμῶν, of YOU,χαίρω I am rejoicingκαὶ andσυνχαίρω I am rejoicing withπᾶσιν allὑμῖν· YOU; 18  τὸ theδὲ butαὐτὸ very (thing)καὶ alsoὑμεῖς YOUχαίρετε be YOU rejoicingκαὶ andσυνχαίρετέ be YOU rejoicing withμοι. me. 19  ᾿Ελπίζω I am hopingδὲ butἐν inκυρίῳ LordἸησοῦ JesusΤιμόθεον Timothyταχέως quicklyπέμψαι to sendὑμῖν, to YOU,ἵνα in order thatκἀγὼ also Iεὐψυχῶ may be well of soulγνοὺς having knownτὰ the (things)περὶ aboutὑμῶν. YOU. 20  οὐδένα No oneγὰρ forἔχω I am havingἰσόψυχον equal-souledὅστις whoγνησίως genuinelyτὰ the (things)περὶ aboutὑμῶν YOUμεριμνήσει, he will care, 21  οἱ theπάντες allγὰρ forτὰ the (things)ἑαυτῶν of themselvesζητοῦσιν, they are seeking,οὐ notτὰ the (things)Χριστοῦ of ChristἸησοῦ. Jesus. 22  τὴν Theδὲ butδοκιμὴν proofαὐτοῦ of himγινώσκετε, YOU are knowing,ὅτι thatὡς asπατρὶ to fatherτέκνον childσὺν together withἐμοὶ meἐδούλευσεν he slavedεἰς intoτὸ theεὐαγγέλιον. good news. 23  Τοῦτον This (one)μὲν indeedοὖν thereforeἐλπίζω I am hopingπέμψαι to sendὡς asἂν likelyἀφίδω I might see offτὰ the (things)περὶ aboutἐμὲ meἐξαυτῆς· out of very [hour]; 24  πέποιθα I have been confidentδὲ butἐν inκυρίῳ Lordὅτι thatκαὶ alsoαὐτὸς veryταχέως quicklyἐλεύσομαι. I shall come. 25  ἀναγκαῖον Necessaryδὲ butἡγησάμην I considered᾿Επαφρόδιτον Epaphroditusτὸν theἀδελφὸν brotherκαὶ andσυνεργὸν fellow workerκαὶ andσυνστρατιώτην fellow soldierμου, of me,ὑμῶν of YOUδὲ butἀπόστολον apostleκαὶ andλειτουργὸν public workerτῆς of theχρείας needμου, of me,πέμψαι to sendπρὸς towardὑμᾶς, YOU, 26  ἐπειδὴ sinceἐπιποθῶν longing afterἦν he wasπάντας allὑμᾶς YOUἰδεῖν, to see,καὶ andἀδημονῶν being depressedδιότι becauseἠκούσατε YOU heardὅτι thatἠσθένησεν. he fell sick. 27  καὶ Andγὰρ forἠσθένησεν he fell sickπαραπλήσιον beside-nearθανάτου· death;ἀλλὰ buttheθεὸς Godἠλέησεν had mercy onαὐτόν, him,οὐκ notαὐτὸν himδὲ butμόνον onlyἀλλὰ butκαὶ alsoἐμέ, me,ἵνα in order thatμὴ notλύπην sadnessἐπὶ uponλύπην sadnessσχῶ.
