Revelation 18:1-24

18  Μετὰ Afterταῦτα these (things)εἶδον I sawἄλλον otherἄγγελον angelκαταβαίνοντα stepping downἐκ out ofτοῦ theοὐρανοῦ, heaven,ἔχοντα havingἐξουσίαν authorityμεγάλην, great,καὶ andtheγῆ earthἐφωτίσθη was lighted upἐκ out ofτῆς theδόξης gloryαὐτοῦ. of him. 2  καὶ Andἔκραξεν he cried outἐν inἰσχυρᾷ strongφωνῇ voiceλέγων sayingἜπεσεν, She fell,ἔπεσεν fellΒαβυλὼν Babylontheμεγάλη, great,καὶ andἐγένετο she becameκατοικητήριον dwelling placeδαιμονίων of demonsκαὶ andφυλακὴ prisonπαντὸς of everyπνεύματος spiritἀκαθάρτου uncleanκαὶ andφυλακὴ prisonπαντὸς of everyὀρνέου birdἀκαθάρτου uncleanκαὶ andμεμισημένου, having been hated, 3  ὅτι becauseἐκ out ofτοῦ theοἴνου wineτοῦ of theθυμοῦ angerτῆς of theπορνείας fornicationαὐτῆς of herπέπτωκαν have fallenπάντα allτὰ theἔθνη, nations,καὶ andοἱ theβασιλεῖς kingsτῆς of theγῆς earthμετ’ withαὐτῆς herἐπόρνευσαν, committed fornication,καὶ andοἱ theἔμποροι traveling merchantsτῆς of theγῆς earthἐκ out ofτῆς theδυνάμεως powerτοῦ of theστρήνους unreined luxuryαὐτῆς of herἐπλούτησαν. they became rich. 4  Καὶ Andἤκουσα I heardἄλλην otherφωνὴν voiceἐκ out ofτοῦ theοὐρανοῦ heavenλέγουσαν saying᾿Εξέλθατε, Come YOU out,theλαός peopleμου, of me,ἐξ out ofαὐτῆς, her,ἵνα in order thatμὴ notσυνκοινωνήσητε YOU should share togetherταῖς to theἁμαρτίαις sinsαὐτῆς, of her,καὶ andἐκ out ofτῶν theπληγῶν plaguesαὐτῆς of herἵνα in order thatμὴ notλάβητε· YOU should receive; 5  ὅτι becauseἐκολλήθησαν were glued togetherαὐτῆς of herαἱ theἁμαρτίαι sinsἄχρι untilτοῦ theοὐρανοῦ, heaven,καὶ andἐμνημόνευσεν called to mindtheθεὸς Godτὰ theἀδικήματα unjust actsαὐτῆς. of her. 6  ἀπόδοτε Give YOU backαὐτῇ to herὡς asκαὶ alsoαὐτὴ sheἀπέδωκεν, gave back,καὶ andδιπλώσατε double YOUτὰ theδιπλᾶ double (things)κατὰ according toτὰ theἔργα worksαὐτῆς· of her;ἐν inτῷ theποτηρίῳ cupto whichἐκέρασεν she mingledκεράσατε mingle YOUαὐτῇ to herδιπλοῦν· double (thing); 7  ὅσα as many (things) asἐδόξασεν she glorifiedαὑτὴν herselfκαὶ andἐστρηνίασεν, lived unreined in luxury,τοσοῦτον so muchδότε give YOUαὐτῇ to herβασανισμὸν tormentκαὶ andπένθος. mourning.ὅτι Becauseἐν inτῇ theκαρδίᾳ heartαὐτῆς of herλέγει she is sayingὅτι thatΚάθημαι I am sittingΒασίλισσα, queen,καὶ andχήρα widowοὐκ notεἰμί, I am,καὶ andπένθος mourningοὐ notμὴ notἴδω· I should see; 8  διὰ throughτοῦτο thisἐν inμιᾷ oneἡμέρᾳ dayἥξουσιν will comeαἱ theπληγαὶ plaguesαὐτῆς, of her,θάνατος deathκαὶ andπένθος mourningκαὶ andλιμός, famine,καὶ andἐν inπυρὶ fireκατακαυθήσεται· she will be burned down;ὅτι becauseἰσχυρὸς strongΚύριος Lordtheθεὸς Godthe (one)κρίνας having judgedαὐτήν. her. 9  καὶ Andκλαύσουσιν they will weepκαὶ andκόψονται they will strike themselvesἐπ’ uponαὐτὴν herοἱ theβασιλεῖς kingsτῆς of theγῆς earthοἱ the (ones)μετ’ withαὐτῆς herπορνεύσαντες having committed fornicationκαὶ andστρηνιάσαντες, having lived unreined in luxury,ὅταν wheneverβλέπωσιν they may be looking atτὸν theκαπνὸν smokeτῆς of theπυρώσεως firingαὐτῆς, of her, 10  ἀπὸ fromμακρόθεν long [way] offἑστηκότες (they) having stoodδιὰ throughτὸν theφόβον fearτοῦ of theβασανισμοῦ tormentαὐτῆς, of her,λέγοντες sayingΟὐαί Woeοὐαί, woe,theπόλις citytheμεγάλη, great,Βαβυλὼν Babylontheπόλις citytheἰσχυρά, strong,ὅτι becauseμιᾷ to oneὥρᾳ hourἦλθεν cametheκρίσις judgmentσου. of you. 11  καὶ Andοἱ theἔμποροι traveling merchantsτῆς of theγῆς earthκλαίουσιν are weepingκαὶ andπενθοῦσιν they are mourningἐπ’ uponαὐτήν, her,ὅτι becauseτὸν theγόμον full (stock)αὐτῶν of themοὐδεὶς no oneἀγοράζει is buyingοὐκέτι, not yet, 12  γόμον full (stock)χρυσοῦ of goldκαὶ andἀργύρου of silverκαὶ andλίθου of stoneτιμίου preciousκαὶ andμαργαριτῶν of pearlsκαὶ andβυσσίνου of fine linenκαὶ andπορφύρας of purpleκαὶ andσιρικοῦ of silkκαὶ andκοκκίνου, of scarlet,καὶ andπᾶν everyξύλον woodθύινον thyineκαὶ andπᾶν everyσκεῦος vesselἐλεφάντινον made of ivoryκαὶ andπᾶν everyσκεῦος vesselἐκ out ofξύλου woodτιμιωτάτου most preciousκαὶ andχαλκοῦ of copperκαὶ andσιδήρου of ironκαὶ andμαρμάρου, of marble, 13  καὶ andκιννάμωμον cinnamonκαὶ andἄμωμον amomumκαὶ andθυμιάματα incensesκαὶ andμύρον perfumed oilκαὶ andλίβανον frankincenseκαὶ andοἶνον wineκαὶ andἔλαιον olive oilκαὶ andσεμίδαλιν fine flourκαὶ andσῖτον wheatκαὶ andκτήνη acquired (animals)καὶ andπρόβατα, sheep,καὶ andἵππων of horsesκαὶ andῥεδῶν of coachesκαὶ andσωμάτων, of bodies,καὶ andψυχὰς soulsἀνθρώπων. of men. 14  καὶ Andtheὀπώρα juicy fruitσου of youτῆς of theἐπιθυμίας desireτῆς of theψυχῆς soulἀπῆλθεν it went offἀπὸ fromσοῦ, you,καὶ andπάντα allτὰ theλιπαρὰ fatty (things)καὶ andτὰ theλαμπρὰ bright (things)ἀπώλετο destroyed itselfἀπὸ fromσοῦ, you,καὶ andοὐκέτι not yetοὐ notμὴ notαὐτὰ themεὑρήσουσιν. they will find. 15  οἱ Theἔμποροι traveling merchantsτούτων, of these (things),οἱ the (ones)πλουτήσαντες having become richἀπ’ fromαὐτῆς, her,ἀπὸ fromμακρόθεν long [way] offστήσονται will standδιὰ throughτὸν theφόβον fearτοῦ of theβασανισμοῦ tormentαὐτῆς of herκλαίοντες (they) weepingκαὶ andπενθοῦντες, mourning, 16  λέγοντες sayingΟὐαί Woeοὐαί, woe,theπόλις citytheμεγάλη, great,the (one)περιβεβλημένη having been thrown aboutβύσσινον fine linenκαὶ andπορφυροῦν purpleκαὶ andκόκκινον, scarlet,καὶ andκεχρυσωμένη having been gildedἐν inχρυσίῳ goldκαὶ andλίθῳ stoneτιμίῳ preciousκαὶ andμαργαρίτῃ, pearl, 17  ὅτι becauseμιᾷ to oneὥρᾳ hourἠρημώθη was desolatedtheτοσοῦτος so muchπλοῦτος. wealth. καὶ Andπᾶς everyκυβερνήτης steersmanκαὶ andπᾶς everythe (one)ἐπὶ uponτόπον placeπλέων, sailing,καὶ andναῦται nautical onesκαὶ andὅσοι as many asτὴν theθάλασσαν seaἐργάζονται, are working,ἀπὸ fromμακρόθεν long [way] offἔστησαν they stood 18  καὶ andἔκραξαν they cried outβλέποντες looking atτὸν theκαπνὸν smokeτῆς of theπυρώσεως firingαὐτῆς of herλέγοντες sayingΤίς Whoὁμοία likeτῇ to theπόλει cityτῇ theμεγάλῃ; great? 19  καὶ Andἔβαλον they threwχοῦν dustἐπὶ uponτὰς theκεφαλὰς headsαὐτῶν of themκαὶ andἔκραξαν they cried outκλαίοντες weepingκαὶ andπενθοῦντες, mourning,λέγοντες sayingΟὐαί Woeοὐαί, woe,theπόλις citytheμεγάλη, great,ἐν inwhichἐπλούτησαν became richπάντες allοἱ the (ones)ἔχοντες havingτὰ theπλοῖα boatsἐν inτῇ theθαλάσσῃ seaἐκ out ofτῆς theτιμιότητος preciousnessαὐτῆς, of her,ὅτι becauseἐν inμιᾷ oneὥρᾳ hourἠρημώθη. she was desolated. 20  Εὐφραίνου Be you well-mindedἐπ’ uponαὐτῇ, her,οὐρανέ, heaven,καὶ andοἱ theἅγιοι holy (ones)καὶ andοἱ theἀπόστολοι apostlesκαὶ andοἱ theπροφῆται, prophets,ὅτι becauseἔκρινεν judgedtheθεὸς Godτὸ theκρίμα judgmentὑμῶν of YOUἐξ out ofαὐτῆς. her. 21  Καὶ Andἦρεν lifted upεἷς oneἄγγελος angelἰσχυρὸς strongλίθον stoneὡς asμύλινον belonging to millμέγαν, great,καὶ andἔβαλεν he threwεἰς intoτὴν theθάλασσαν seaλέγων sayingΟὕτως Thusὁρμήματι to onrushβληθήσεται will be thrownΒαβυλὼν Babylontheμεγάλη greatπόλις, city,καὶ andοὐ notμὴ notεὑρεθῇ she should be foundἔτι. yet. 22  καὶ Andφωνὴ voiceκιθαρῳδῶν of harpersκαὶ andμουσικῶν of musiciansκαὶ andαὐλητῶν of flutistsκαὶ andσαλπιστῶν of trumpetersοὐ notμὴ notἀκουσθῇ should be heardἐν inσοὶ youἔτι, yet,καὶ andπᾶς everyτεχνίτης artificerπάσης of everyτέχνης artοὐ notμὴ notεὑρεθῇ should be foundἐν inσοὶ youἔτι, yet,καὶ andφωνὴ voiceμύλου of millοὐ notμὴ notἀκουσθῇ should be heardἐν inσοὶ youἔτι, yet, 23  καὶ andφῶς lightλύχνου of lampοὐ notμὴ notφάνῃ should shineἐν inσοὶ youἔτι, yet,καὶ andφωνὴ voiceνυμφίου of bridegroomκαὶ andνύμφης of brideοὐ notμὴ notἀκουσθῇ should be heardἐν inσοὶ youἔτι· yet;ὅτι becauseοἱ theἔμποροί traveling merchantsσου of youἦσαν wereοἱ theμεγιστᾶνες greatest menτῆς of theγῆς, earth,ὅτι becauseἐν byτῇ theφαρμακίᾳ druggeryσου of youἐπλανήθησαν were made to errπάντα allτὰ theἔθνη, nations, 24  καὶ andἐν inαὐτῇ herαἷμα bloodπροφητῶν of prophetsκαὶ andἁγίων of holy (ones)εὑρέθη was foundκαὶ andπάντων of allτῶν the (ones)ἐσφαγμένων having been slaughteredἐπὶ uponτῆς theγῆς. earth.
