Romans 13:1-14

13  Πᾶσα Everyψυχὴ soulἐξουσίαις to authoritiesὑπερεχούσαις having overὑποτασσέσθω, let be subjecting himself,οὐ notγὰρ forἔστιν isἐξουσία authorityεἰ ifμὴ notὑπὸ byθεοῦ, God,αἱ the [authorities]δὲ butοὖσαι beingὑπὸ byθεοῦ Godτεταγμέναι having been set in orderεἰσίν· they are; 2  ὥστε as-andὁ the (one)ἀντιτασσόμενος setting self againstτῇ theἐξουσίᾳ authorityτῇ to theτοῦ of theθεοῦ Godδιαταγῇ thorough settingἀνθέστηκεν, has taken stand against,οἱ the (ones)δὲ butἀνθεστηκότες having taken stand againstἑαυτοῖς to themselvesκρίμα judgmentλήμψονται. they will receive. 3  οἱ Theγὰρ forἄρχοντες rulersοὐκ notεἰσὶν areφόβος fearτῷ to theἀγαθῷ goodἔργῳ workἀλλὰ butτῷ to theκακῷ. bad.θέλεις You are willingδὲ butμὴ notφοβεῖσθαι to be fearingτὴν theἐξουσίαν; authority?τὸ the (thing)ἀγαθὸν goodποίει, be doing,καὶ andἕξεις you will haveἔπαινον praiseἐξ out ofαὐτῆς· her; 4  θεοῦ of Godγὰρ forδιάκονός servantἐστιν she isσοὶ to youεἰς intoτὸ theἀγαθόν. good.ἐὰν If everδὲ butτὸ the (thing)κακὸν badποιῇς, you may be doing,φοβοῦ· be fearing;οὐ notγὰρ forεἰκῇ purposelesslyτὴν theμάχαιραν swordφορεῖ· she is bearing;θεοῦ of Godγὰρ forδιάκονός servantἐστιν, she is,ἔκδικος avengerεἰς intoὀργὴν wrathτῷ to the (one)τὸ the (thing)κακὸν badπράσσοντι. performing. 5  διὸ Through whichἀνάγκη necessityὑποτάσσεσθαι, to be subjecting oneself,οὐ notμόνον onlyδιὰ throughτὴν theὀργὴν wrathἀλλὰ butκαὶ alsoδιὰ throughτὴν theσυνείδησιν, conscience, 6  διὰ throughτοῦτο thisγὰρ forκαὶ alsoφόρους things broughtτελεῖτε, YOU are paying,λειτουργοὶ public servantsγὰρ forθεοῦ of Godεἰσὶν they areεἰς intoαὐτὸ veryτοῦτο this (thing)προσκαρτεροῦντες. persevering. 7  ἀπόδοτε Give YOU backπᾶσι to all (ones)τὰς theὀφειλάς, dues,τῷ to the (one)τὸν theφόρον thing broughtτὸν theφόρον, thing brought,τῷ to the (one)τὸ theτέλος taxτὸ theτέλος, tax,τῷ to the (one)τὸν theφόβον fearτὸν theφόβον, fear,τῷ to the (one)τὴν theτιμὴν honorτὴν theτιμήν. honor. 8  Μηδενὶ To no oneμηδὲν nothingὀφείλετε, be YOU owing,εἰ ifμὴ notτὸ theἀλλήλους one anotherἀγαπᾷν· to be loving;ὁ the (one)γὰρ forἀγαπῶν lovingτὸν theἕτερον different (one)νόμον lawπεπλήρωκεν. he has fulfilled. 9  τὸ Theγάρ forΟὐ Notμοιχεύσεις, you will commit adultery,Οὐ Notφονεύσεις, you will murder,Οὐ Notκλέψεις, you will steal,Οὐκ Notἐπιθυμήσεις, you will desire,καὶ andεἴ ifτις anyἑτέρα differentἐντολή, commandment,ἐν inτῷ theλόγῳ wordτούτῳ thisἀνακεφαλαιοῦται, it is being summed up,ἐν inτῷ the᾿Αγαπήσεις You will loveτὸν theπλησίον neighborσου of youὡς asσεαυτόν. yourself. 10  ἡ Theἀγάπη loveτῷ to theπλησίον neighborκακὸν badοὐκ notἐργάζεται· is working;πλήρωμα fulfillmentοὖν thereforeνόμου of lawἡ theἀγάπη. love. 11  Καὶ Andτοῦτο thisεἰδότες (ones) having knownτὸν theκαιρόν, appointed time,ὅτι thatὥρα hourἤδη alreadyὑμᾶς YOUἐξ out ofὕπνου sleepἐγερθῆναι, to be roused,νῦν nowγὰρ forἐγγύτερον nearerἡμῶν of usἡ theσωτηρία salvationἢ thanὅτε whenἐπιστεύσαμεν. we believed. 12  ἡ Theνὺξ nightπροέκοψεν, cut forward,ἡ theδὲ butἡμέρα dayἤγγικεν. has drawn near.ἀποθώμεθα We should put off from selvesοὖν thereforeτὰ theἔργα worksτοῦ of theσκότους, darkness,ἐνδυσώμεθα we should put on selvesδὲ butτὰ theὅπλα weaponsτοῦ of theφωτός. light. 13  ὡς Asἐν inἡμέρᾳ dayεὐσχημόνως well behavedlyπεριπατήσωμεν, we should walk,μὴ notκώμοις to revelriesκαὶ andμέθαις, to drunken bouts,μὴ notκοίταις to bedsκαὶ andἀσελγείαις, to acts of loose conduct,μὴ notἔριδι to strifeκαὶ andζήλῳ. to jealousy. 14  ἀλλὰ Butἐνδύσασθε put YOU on selvesτὸν theκύριον LordἸησοῦν JesusΧριστόν, Christ,καὶ andτῆς of theσαρκὸς fleshπρόνοιαν forethoughtμὴ notποιεῖσθε be YOU makingεἰς intoἐπιθυμίας. desires.
