Bunni
(Bunʹni) [shortened form of Benaiah, meaning “Jehovah Has Built”].
1. A Levite whose descendant was chosen by lot to live in Jerusalem after the wall rebuilding by Nehemiah.—Ne 11:1, 15.
2. A leading Levite in the days of Ezra and Nehemiah who was among those on the platform ‘crying out with a loud voice’ in repentance to Jehovah.—Ne 9:4.
3. One of “the heads of the people” whose descendant, if not he himself, concurred with the covenant of faithfulness that Nehemiah sponsored.—Ne 10:1, 14, 15.
