(Heʹzir) [Pig; Boar].
1. The priest whose paternal house was chosen by lot for the 17th of the 24 priestly service divisions organized toward the end of David’s reign.—1Ch 24:1, 3, 5-7, 15.
2. One of “the heads of the people” whose descendant, if not he himself, in Nehemiah’s time supported the resolution to be true to Jehovah.—Ne 9:38; 10:1, 14, 20.
