1. A Hittite whose son Ephron sold the cave of Machpelah to Abraham.​—Ge 23:7-9; 25:9.

2. Fifth-named son of Simeon and father of a tribal family; one of those numbered among the 70 of Jacob’s household who “came into Egypt.” (Ge 46:8, 10, 27; Ex 6:15) He is elsewhere called Zerah.​—Nu 26:13; 1Ch 4:24.
