Witnesses’ Exhibit Welcomed at Renowned International Book Fair in Croatia
ZAGREB, Croatia—Jehovah’s Witnesses participated for the first time in the renowned Interliber International Book and Teaching Appliances Fair on November 11-16, 2014. The annual event features hundreds of exhibitors from the fields of publishing and education and is regarded as one of the premier trade shows in Croatia. This year’s fair had a record attendance of about 130,000 people.
Among the visitors to the Witnesses’ exhibit was Dr. Ivo Josipović, the President of the Republic of Croatia. President Josipović greeted the Witness volunteers and selected pieces of their literature regarding science and the Bible entitled The Origin of Life—Five Questions Worth Asking, Was Life Created?, and Life—How Did It Get Here? By Evolution or by Creation?
A popular element of the Witnesses’ display was the “children’s corner,” where visitors could watch animated videos from the official website of Jehovah’s Witnesses, jw.org, that are designed to teach children lessons from the Bible. Visitors frequently selected the set of books entitled Questions Young People Ask—Answers That Work, which offer practical guidance to young people and parents.
Josip Liović, a spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses in Croatia, stated: “We are thrilled to have received such a warm reception here at Interliber. Our exhibit was more successful than we anticipated, with visitors selecting more than 7,500 pieces of literature to take home with them. We look forward to presenting our material to visitors again next year.”
