On Monday, August 3, 2020, the Pskov Regional Court ruled to release Brother Gennady Shpakovskiy from prison. The court upheld his conviction but replaced his six-and-a-half-year prison sentence with a suspended one for the same term, which includes two years of probation. A few hours after the court ruled, Brother Shpakovskiy was released. The prosecution has the right to appeal.
