JW LIBRARY
Download and Manage Bibles—Android
Reading and studying the Bible is a principal feature of JW Library.
Follow these instructions to download and manage Bibles:
Download a Bible
You can download Bible translations for reading and studying offline.
Open the navigation drawer and tap Bible to show the list of Bible books.
Tap the Languages button to show a list of all available Bibles. Translations in the languages that you use most often are at the top of the list. You can also search the list by typing the name of a language or Bible translation. For example, type “int” to find the Kingdom Interlinear in English, or “port” to find all Bibles in Portuguese.
Bibles that you have not yet downloaded are marked with a cloud icon. Tap a Bible to download it. Once the Bible is downloaded to your device, the cloud icon disappears. Tap the Bible again to read it.
If you do not see the Bible translation you want, please check back later. More translations will be added as they become available.
Delete a Bible
You can delete a Bible translation if you no longer need it, or if you would like to free up storage space.
Open the navigation drawer and tap Bible, then tap the Languages button to open the list of Bibles. Tap the More button next to the Bible you want to delete, then tap Delete.
Get Updates for a Bible
From time to time, an update may become available for a Bible that you have downloaded.
A Bible that has been updated is marked with a refresh icon. When you tap the Bible, you will see a message that an update is available. Tap Download to get the update, or tap Later to continue reading the version you already have.
These features were released in February 2015 with JW Library 1.4, which is compatible with Android 2.3 or later. If you don’t see these features, please follow the instructions in the article “Start Using JW Library—Android,” under Get the Latest Features.
