Instructions for the Way Christian Can Live and Preach Meeting

1. The instructions in this book will help everybody who get part on the Way Christian Can Live and Preach Meeting. Those who get part must read the instructions for their part in the Live and Preach Meeting Workbook and in this book before preparing their part. Encourage all the publisher them to give their name so they can start having student part. Other people who attending the meeting all the time and living by the thing them they learning from the Bible can also give their name to start having student part. If somebody who not publisher say they want get on the school, the Live and Preach Meeting overseer must go over the requirements with the person and let them know if they qualify. When he doing it, the person Bible teacher must be there (or if the person parents in the truth, one of them must be there). That the same requirements for those who want be unbaptize publisher.—od chap. 8 par. 8.

 WETIN WE COMING LEARN?

2. One minute. Every week, when the opening song and prayer finish, the Live and Preach Meeting chairman will help everybody to see wetin they coming learn from the meeting. The chairman must focus on the main point them that will really benefit the congregation.

  GOOD-GOOD LESSONS FROM THE BIBLE

 3Talk: Ten minutes. This part get the title and the talk outline with two or three main points in the Live and Preach Meeting Workbook. That elder or qualify ministerial servant must do this part here. When we coming start new Bible book, we must play the video that talk about it. The speaker will show wetin the video and the talk title get in common. But he must make sure to talk about all the main point them inside the workbook. Also, when he get time, he must explain the picture them to help the people understand the talk good-good. He can use other materials from his research so long they in line with the main point them in the outline.

 4Good-Good Thing Them Inside the Bible: Ten minutes. This other part that question-and-answer, and it not get introduction or conclusion. That elder or qualify ministerial servant must do this part. He must make sure to ask the two questions. He can also decide whether they must read the Bible verses or they must not read them. Anybody who commenting must not talk for more than 30 seconds.

 5Bible Reading: Four minutes. That man must do this part. The student must just do the Bible reading. He must not give introduction or conclusion. The meeting chairman will try hard to help the students to read good and with understanding. He must also help them to know the right place to pause, the right word to stress, how to change the tone of their voice to match with what they reading, and to do it in a way that will be natural. The Live and Preach Meeting overseer must look at what the student them able to do before giving them the Bible reading assignment. He must do it because some of the Bible reading can be long and some can be short.

 HOW TO DO THE PREACHING WORK GOOD-GOOD

6. Fifteen minutes. This part of the meeting there to help all of us improve the way we can talk with people in field service, learn how to preach and teach good-good and also to practice for field service. When it necessary, they can give elder them student assignments. Each student must work on the study point from the Teaching or Love People brochure that in parentheses that side the assignment in the Live and Preach Meeting Workbook. Sometime, part will be on the meeting with the instruction, “yor discus it”. That elder or qualify ministerial servant must do this part.—See  paragraph 15 to know how to handle discussion parts.

 7How to Start Talking With People: Man or woman can do this part. If that man, the householder must be man or his family member. If that woman, the householder must be woman or her family member. They can sit down or stand up to do their part.—See  paragraphs 12 and  13 to get more information on the content and setting for this assignment.

 8Checking Back: Man or woman can do this part. If that man, his householder must be man. If that woman, her householder must be woman. (km 5/97 p. 2) They can sit down or stand up to do their part. The student must show what he will say when he go back to talk with somebody who show interest base on what they talk about before.—See  paragraphs 12 and  13 to get more information on the content and setting for this assignment.

 9Making Disciples: Man or woman can do this part. If that man, his householder must be man. If that woman, her householder must be woman. (km 5/97 p. 2) They can sit down or stand up to do their part. Do this part just like the Bible study already na start. No need for introduction or conclusion, unless they assign the student to work on one of this study point them. You not force to read all the paragraph when you conducting Bible study, even though you can do it.

 10Explaining Your Beliefs: When this part that talk, that man must do it. When that demonstration, that man or woman must do it. If that man, the householder must be man or his family member. If that woman, the householder must be woman or her family member. The student must use the information from the reference to answer the theme question. The answer must be clear and tactful. When he giving his talk, he can decide whether to call the publication the talk coming from or not.

 11Talk: That man must do this part. He must give it just like he giving public talk. When the talk coming from one of the points in appendix A of the Love People brochure, the student must show how we can use the verse(s) in the field service. For example, maybe he can explain when to use the verse, the meaning of the verse, and how to use it to reason with someone. When the talk base on any point from one of the lessons in the Love People brochure, the student must focus on how to apply that point in field service. He can show the example in point 1 of the lesson or talk about any of the other verses that in the lesson, if it will help the person.

   12Content: The information in this paragraph and in the next paragraph apply to the parts “How to Start Talking With People” and “Checking Back”. If the student not get any other instruction, the student must try to share simple Bible truth that the person he talking with get interest in. Also, he must leave question that will help him to come back to continue talking with the person. The student must choose one topic that plenty people in the area thinking about. He can choose to talk about one of our publications or videos from the Teaching Toolbox. Instead of memorizing what to say, students must practice how to talk with people, like showing them personal interest and trying to be natural.

   13Settings: The student must apply the general setting that assign to him and he must apply it in the way that alright for the area. For example:

  1.  (1) House to House: For this setting we get preaching from door to door and checking back on someone you talk with before. We can do it face to face, by phone, or by writing letter.

  2.  (2) Informal Witnessing: This setting talking about how we can use normal conversation to preach to somebody. You can share something from the Bible with your workmate, school mate, people in your community, when you traveling, or when you some where doing your normal things.

  3.  (3) Public Witnessing: For this setting we get cart witnessing, preaching to business area, street witnessing, or preaching in the parks, parking lots, or anywhere you can find people.

 14How to Use Videos and Literature: Depending on what the student preaching about, he can choose to talk about one video or publication. If the student assignment get video or if he choose to use video, he must talk about it but he must not play it.

  LIVING LIKE CHRISTIANS

15. After the song, the next 15 minutes will be use for one or two parts that will help the brother them to live by what they learning from the Bible. All this part them can be assign to elders or qualify ministerial servants, except the instruction say it only for elder. Only elders can do the local needs part. When the part that discussion, the person who doing it can ask questions throughout his part, beside the questions that there. He must make his introduction short to cover the main points and give the audience more time to comment. If that interview, the person who they interviewing must give their comments from the stage if it possible.

  16Congregation Bible Study: Thirty minutes. That qualify elder can do this part. (When the elder them not plenty, qualify ministerial servants can do this part.) The body of elders must decide who qualify to do the Congregation Bible Study. Anybody they choose to do this part must try to do it good and finish it on time. He must make the main point them from the Bible verses clear and help the brother them see how it important to live by what they learning from the study. Anybody they choose to do this part, will benefit by reviewing the direction about how to do the question-and-answer parts. (w23.04 p. 24, box) If the congregation finish studying all the material assign for the week good-good, the conductor must not force it to finish his time. When it possible, they must use different-different qualify brothers every week to be the conductors and the readers. If the chairman for the Live and Preach Meeting say that they must cut the study short, then the brother conducting will decide how to cut the study short. Maybe he will decide to not read some paragraph them.

  WETIN WE LEARN TODAY AND WHAT WE WILL LEARN NEXT WEEK?

17. Three minutes. The chairman for the Live and Preach Meeting will go over some important points from the meeting. He must also talk small about what we will learn in the week that coming. If time still there, he can call the names of the brother and sister them that will be having student part the next week. When the meeting finish, the chairman must make sure to read any letter or announcement they get for the congregation. Thing them like the days and times for field service meeting in the week and Kingdom Hall cleaning must not be announce on the platform. But they must put it on the information board. When the time not plenty for the chairman to make announcements or read the letters, he can ask the brother them who get part under the Living Like Christians section to cut their part short. It will help him to read the letters or make the announcements they get for the congregation. (See  paragraphs 16 and  19.) The meeting must end with song and prayer.

  THANK YOU AND COUNSEL

18. When the student finish giving their part, the Live and Preach Meeting chairman get about one minute to tell the student thank you and give them their counsel from the study point that assign to them. When the chairman call the student to do their part, he must not call the study point the student working on. But when the student finish giving their part, the chairman must tell them thank you. Then, he can call the study point the student was working on and show why and how the student did well or the area he need to work on. If the chairman think it will benefit the student and the congregation, he can talk about other good-good points the student did well with. After the meeting or another time, the chairman will meet with the student one-on-one and give some good counsel on the study point they were working on or another study point. This counsel will come from the Love People brochure, the Teaching brochure or the Ministry School book.—To learn more about what the Live and Preach Meeting chairman and the auxiliary counselor can do, please read  paragraphs 19,  24, and  25.

     TIMING

19No part must go overtime. The Live and Preach Meeting chairman must not go overtime for the part them he can comment on. Even though the Live and Preach Meeting Workbook show the time for each part, but if you cover your part good-good before your time finish, no need to continue talking just because you want finish your time. If any part go overtime, the Live and Preach Meeting chairman or the auxiliary counselor must talk with the brother who handle it one-on-one after the meeting. (See  paragraphs 24 and  25.) The whole meeting, plus the song and prayer must be 1 hour 45 minutes.

 CIRCUIT OVERSEER VISIT

20. When the congregation get circuit visit, they must do the meeting the same way it in the Live and Preach Meeting Workbook. Only the Congregation Bible Study they will not do. The circuit overseer will use the 30 minutes for the Congregation Bible Study to give his service talk. Before the service talk, the Live and Preach Meeting chairman will talk about the main point them from the meeting and go over the program for the next week. He will also give any announcements and read any important letters. From there, he will introduce the circuit overseer. When the service talk finish, the circuit overseer will call the song he choose for the congregation to sing to end the meeting. If the circuit overseer like, he can call another brother to pray. When the congregation get circuit visit, they will not have the second class in the congregation language. Any group that can join the congregation for other meeting parts, will still have their meeting when the circuit overseer visiting the congregation. But the group must join the congregation for the circuit overseer service talk.

 ASSEMBLY OR CONVENTION WEEK

21. During assembly or convention week, we will not have congregation meeting. Remind the congregation that everybody will study the material for the week during their personal study or family worship.

 MEMORIAL WEEK

22. When the Memorial fall on any day from Monday to Friday, we will not have the Live and Preach Meeting.

 LIVE AND PREACH MEETING OVERSEER

23. The body of elders will choose one elder to be the overseer for the Live and Preach Meeting. He will make sure the brothers follow this direction them so the meeting can be organize. He and the auxiliary counselor must always talk. By the time the congregation get the Live and Preach Meeting Workbook, the Live and Preach Meeting overseer will assign all the midweek-meeting parts for the two-month period. That mean, he will also assign the midweek meeting chairmen that the body of elders choose and other parts that can’t be assign to students. (See  paragraphs 3-16 and  24.) When he giving student assignments, he must think about the student age, experience, and whether the person will be free to talk on the topic. That the same thing he must do when he assigning the other meeting parts. Everybody must get their assignment at least three weeks before the time for them to give their part. The Our Christian Life and Ministry Meeting Assignment (S-89) form must be use for the student assignments. The Live and preach Meeting overseer must make sure to put copy of the assignment schedule for the whole meeting on the information board. Maybe the body of elders can assign another elder or ministerial servant to help him. But only elders must assign parts that student can’t do.

    LIVE AND PREACH MEETING CHAIRMAN

24. Every week, one elder will be the chairman for the whole Live and Preach Meeting. (When the elder them not plenty, qualify ministerial servants can do this assignment). He will give the opening and the closing comments. He will introduce all the parts on the meeting. And if the elder them not plenty, he can do other parts on the meeting, especially parts that get video but no discussion. He must not talk plenty after each part. The body of elders will decide which of the elder them qualify to be chairman. From time to time, this qualify elder them will be assign to be the chairman. When the qualify elder them not plenty, the Live and Preach Meeting overseer can be use more than the other qualify elders. If any elder qualify to conduct the Congregation Bible Study, then it possible that he also qualify to serve as chairman for the Live and Preach meeting. Please remember this, the elder who serving as chairman must tell each student thank you for their part. When he giving counsel, he must give it with love. The chairman must make sure the meeting finish on time. (See  paragraphs 17 and  19.) If the chairman like and when the stage get space, they can put one standing microphone there. The chairman will use it to introduce each part that will follow while the brother who giving the part going to the speaker stand. During the Bible reading assignment and the How to Do the Preaching Work Good-Good section, the chairman can decide to sit down on the stage to conduct that part of the meeting. It will save time.

   AUXILIARY COUNSELOR

25. When it possible, it good to use one elder who get experience in speaking and teaching to be the auxiliary counselor. That the auxiliary counselor work to give one-on-one counsel to elders and ministerial servants on any speaking assignments they give, if it necessary. This assignment them include parts on the Live and Preach Meeting, public talks, and conducting or reading for the Watchtower Study or the Congregation Bible Study. (See  paragraph 19.) If the congregation get plenty elders that good in speaking and teaching, then every year, one qualify elder can serve as the auxiliary counselor. It not necessary for the auxiliary counselor to give counsel after each assignment.

 SECOND CLASS

26. If the student them plenty, congregations can decide to have second class. The second class must have one qualify elder to be the counselor. When the elder them not plenty, they can use one qualify ministerial servant. The body of elders will decide who will do this work and whether different-different qualify brothers will do it. The counselor must follow the direction them that in  paragraph 18. When the part, Good-Good Thing Them Inside the Bible finish, the chairman must tell the students to go to the second class. They must join the congregation after the How to Do the Preaching Work Good-Good part finish.

 VIDEOS

27. Play the videos they will choose for the midweek meeting. The videos for the midweek meeting will be in the JW Library® app. We can use different-different thing them like, tablets or cellphones to get them.
