The Thing Dem That Luke Write 18:1-43

  • Example about the woman who not get tire asking (1-8)

  • The Pharisee and tax collector (9-14)

  • Jesus and the children dem (15-17)

  • The rich ruler ask one question (18-30)

  • Jesus talk about his death again (31-34)

  • One blind man who use to beg started seeing again (35-43)

18  Then he use one example to tell them why it always important to pray and not give up. 2  He say: “In one city they wor having one judge who wor not having respect for* God, and he wor not having time for anybody. 3  One woman who husband die wor also living in that city. She always use to go to the judge and say, ‘I beg you, help me to get justice in the case that between me and the other person.’ 4  He never wanted to do it. But after some time, he tell hisself say, ‘That true I not get respect for* God and I not get time for anybody. 5  But because this woman always giving me hard time, I will make sure she get justice. So she can’t continue coming to me and giving me hard time with her problem.’” 6  Then Jesus say: “See what this judge finish saying even though he wicked! 7  So yor not think God will surely help the people he na choose to get justice, those who can cry to him every day and night? And he also patient with them. 8  I tell yor, he will make sure they get justice quick-quick. But when the Son of man come, he will really see people with this kindna faith on earth?” 9  He also give this other example to some people who trust theirself because they wor thinking that they wor righteous. And they take other people to be nothing. He say: 10  “Two men dem went in the temple to pray. One wor Pharisee and the other one wor tax collector. 11  The Pharisee stand up and started praying in his heart. He say, ‘O God, I want tell you thank you because I not looking like all the other people dem. They can commit adultery, they can take other people things by force, and they can’t do the right thing in your eyes. I not even looking like this tax collector. 12  I can fast two times in the week, and I can pay tithe for all the thing dem I can get.’ 13  But the tax collector who wor standing far off, not even wanted to look up. But he continue to show that he wor really feeling bad,* and he say, ‘O God, feel sorry for me because I sinner.’ 14  I tell yor that, this man went to his house and he wor more righteous in God eyes than that Pharisee. And that because anybody who put theirself up, God will bring him down, but anybody who bring theirself down, God will put him up.” 15  And people wor also bringing their children to him for him to bless them. But when the disciple dem saw this one, they started driving them. 16  But Jesus tell the children dem to come to him. He say: “Let the small children dem come to me, don’t try to stop them because God Kingdom for people dem like this. 17  To talk the truth, anybody who not accept God Kingdom like small child will never enter it.” 18  And one of the ruler dem ask him: “Good Teacher, wetin I must do to get everlasting life?” 19  Jesus tell him say: “Why you call me good? Nobody good beside one person, and that person that God. 20  You know what the commandments say: ‘You must not commit adultery, you must not kill, you must not steal, you must not bear false witness, respect your ma and your pa.’” 21  Then he say: “I been doing all this thing dem from the time I wor small.” 22  When Jesus hear this one, he tell him say, “That just one thing you not do yet. Go sell all the thing dem you get and give the money to the poor people. Then you will get good-good thing dem in heaven and come be my disciple.” 23  When he hear what Jesus say, his whole heart spoil because he wor really rich. 24  Jesus look at him and say: “It will really be hard for people who get plenty money to enter God Kingdom! 25  In fact, it more easy for camel to pass through the hole that on the sewing needle than for rich person to enter God Kingdom.” 26  The people dem who hear this one say: “It possible for anybody to be save?” 27  He say: “The thing dem that not possible to human being, it possible to God.” 28  But Peter say: “The thing dem we wor having, we na leave them behind to follow you.” 29  He tell them say: “To tell yor the truth, anybody who na leave their house or wife or brothers or ma and pa or children because of God Kingdom 30  will get more than what he left behind now-now. And in the new world that coming,* he will get everlasting life.” 31  Then he carry the 12 apostles on the side and tell them say: “Yor listen! We going to Jerusalem, and all the thing dem the prophet dem write about the Son of man will happen. 32  For example, they will give the Son of man to people who not serving God. They will make fun out of him, treat him bad and spit on him. 33  And when they finish flogging him, they will kill him. And on the third day God will bring him back to life.” 34  But they not understand what all this thing dem mean. In fact, they never understand the meaning of the thing dem Jesus wor saying. 35  When Jesus wor reaching near Jer′i·cho, one blind man wor sitting down near the road begging. 36  When he hear the noise from the plenty people that wor passing, he started asking what wor happening. 37  They tell him say: “That Jesus the Naz·a·rene′ passing!” 38  When he hear this one, he started shouting. He say: “Jesus, David Son, feel sorry for me!” 39  And the people that wor in front of him started talking to him and telling him to keep quiet, but that the more time he continue shouting: “David Son, feel sorry for me!” 40  Then Jesus stop and tell them to bring the man to him. When the man came, Jesus ask him: 41  “Wetin you want me to do for you?” He say: “Lord, make me to see again.” 42  So Jesus tell him say: “Start seeing again, your faith na make you well.” 43  And right away he started to see again. Then he started following Jesus and praising God. Also, when the people saw this one, all of them started praising God.
