The Thing Dem That Luke Write 5:1-39
5 One time the people wor listening to Jesus when he wor teaching God word near the lake they call Gen·nes′a·ret.* And they started pushing each other to get more close to him.
2 And he saw two boats near the lake, but the fishermen dem wor not inside. They went to wash their net.
3 So he got in one of the boats, the one that wor for Simon. He tell Simon to push the boat so it can go in the water small. Then he sit down and started teaching the people dem.
4 When he stop talking, he tell Simon say: “Let go to the place that deep, and throw your net in the water to catch fish.”
5 But Simon tell him say: “Teacher, we work hard the whole night and we not catch anything. But since you say I must put it there, I will do it.”
6 So when they do it, they catch plenty fish. In fact, their nets started tearing.
7 So they throw sign to their other friend dem to come help them, and they came and full up the two boats and the boat dem started going under the water.
8 When Simon Peter saw this one, he kneel down in front of Jesus and say: “Lord, I not fit to be near you because I sinner.”
9 He say this one because he and the people that wor with him wor really surprise when they saw the plenty fish they na catch.
10 Zeb′e·dee children, James and John who wor doing business with Simon wor also surprise. But Jesus tell Simon: “Don’t be scare. From now on you will be catching people.”
11 So they bring the boats back on land and left everything behind and follow him.
12 One time when he wor in one city, one man wor really sick with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he kneel down and beg him: “Lord, if you just want heal me, you can do it.”
13 So Jesus stretch his hand and touch him. Then he say: “I want do it! Be clean.” Right away the leprosy move from on him.
14 Then he warn the man to not tell anybody. He tell the man say: “Go show yourself to the priest, and give the thing dem that Moses talk about so they can know that you well.”
15 But the news about him continue to spread. And plenty people use to come together to listen to him, and for him to heal all their sickness dem.
16 But most of the time, he use to go pray to the place dem where nobody wor eh.
17 One day when he wor teaching, the Pharisees and the Law teacher dem wor sitting down there. They came from all the village dem that in Gal′i·lee and Ju·de′a and from Jerusalem. And he got power from Jehovah* to heal people.
18 But some men dem wor carrying one man on the stretcher who wor not able to move his body because he wor sick. And they wor trying to bring him inside and put him in front of Jesus.
19 But they wor not able to carry the man to Jesus because of the plenty people. So they climb on top of the roof and move part of it. Then they pass the sick man through the place that they open on the roof, and put him down in front of Jesus.
20 When he saw their faith, he say: “My friend, I na forgive your sins.”
21 Then the scribes and the Pharisees started talking among theirself, they say: “This man that who to talk against God? Who can forgive sins beside God?”
22 But Jesus knew what they wor thinking on, so he ask them: “Wetin yor thinking on in your hearts?
23 Which one more easy, to tell the sick man say, ‘I na forgive your sins,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?
24 But for yor to know that the Son of man get power to forgive sins on earth…” He tell the sick man say: “Get up, pick up your stretcher and go to your house.”
25 Right away he stand up in front of them, and pick up the stretcher he wor laying down on, and he wor praising God when he wor going to his house.
26 Then all of them wor really surprise and they started praising God and cold bumps came on their skin and they started saying: “We na see wonderful thing dem today!”
27 After this one, when he left from there, he saw one tax collector name Le′vi sitting down in the office where they can pay tax. And he tell him say: “Come be my disciple.”
28 So Le′vi got up and he left everything behind and follow him.
29 Then Le′vi made one big party for Jesus in his house and plenty tax collectors and other people wor there eating with them.
30 When they saw this one, the Pharisees and the scribes who wor also Pharisees, started complaining to Jesus disciples and ask them: “Why yor can eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”
31 Jesus tell them say: “People who alright in their body not need doctor, but only people who sick.
32 I come tell sinners to repent and not people who doing the right thing.”*
33 They tell him say: “John disciples can fast most of the time and they can really pray to God. And that the same thing the Pharisees disciples can do. But your disciple dem can eat and drink.”
34 Jesus tell them say: “They can’t make the friends of the man who just got marry to fast if the marry man still with them, ehn that true?
35 But time will come when they will take the marry man from them. Then they will fast at that time.”
36 He also give them one example: “Nobody can cut piece of cloth from on the new clothes and sew it on the old clothes. If he do it, the new cloth will tear from on the old clothes, and the new piece of cloth will not match with the old clothes.
37 Also, nobody can put new wine in old wine bottles.* If he do it, the new wine will burst the bottles and the wine will waste and the bottles will spoil.
38 But people must put new wine in new wine bottles.
39 Nobody can want drink new wine after they finish drinking the old wine, because they can say, ‘the old wine sweet.’”
