The Thing Dem Matthew Write 11:1-30
11 When Jesus finish telling his 12 disciples what to do, he left from there to teach and preach in other cities.
2 But when John wor in jail, he hear about the things the Christ wor doing, so he sent his disciples
3 to ask him: “That you the Person who suppose to come, or we must expect different person?”
4 Jesus tell them say: “Go and tell John about the thing dem yor hearing and seeing:
5 The blind people seeing now and the cripple people walking. The people who get leprosy na get cure, the deaf people hearing now, people coming back to life and the poor people hearing the good news.
6 The person who not let their faith get weak* because of me can be happy.”
7 When John disciples wor going, Jesus started talking to the people about John: “Wetin you go see in the wilderness? That tall grass that the breeze blowing left and right?
8 So wetin you go there to see? That somebody with fine* clothes? But people who can wear fine clothes can be in the king house.
9 So why you went there? To see prophet? Yes, that true John wor prophet. But he wor more important than even the prophet dem.
10 That he the one they write about and say: ‘I sending my messenger to go in front of you and he will prepare your way for you!’
11 To tell yor the truth, among all the people who na live, nobody great more than John the Baptist, but the person who get low position in the Kingdom in heaven great pass him.
12 From the time John the Baptist started preaching up to now, people been working hard to enter the Kingdom that in heaven. And the people that working hard, will be able to enter it.
13 Because before John came, all the Prophets and the Law talk about wetin will happen.
14 And whether you agree or not, John that ‘E·li′jah who they say wor going to come.’
15 Let the person who want listen, listen good-good.
16 “Who I will compare this generation to? It looking like small children who sitting down in the market and call their friend dem who they can play with,
17 and say: ‘We play the flute for yor, but yor not dance; we sing sorrowful song, but yor not cry.’
18 That the same way, when John came he wor not eating, he wor not drinking and people say, ‘He get demon.’
19 But when the Son of man came, and started eating and drinking, people start saying, ‘Yor see! The man greedy and he can drink plenty liquor and he friendly with tax collectors and sinners.’ But when people wise, it can show from the things they do.”
20 Then he started condemning the cities where he perform most of his miracles because they not repent:
21 “People in Cho·ra′zin, yor will suffer! Those of yor in Beth·sa′i·da, yor will suffer! Because if the miracles that happen in your city dem wor coming happen in Tyre and Si′don, they wor coming to repent ever since and wear sackcloth and they wor coming to sit down in ashes.*
22 But I tell yor the truth, when Judgment Day come, it will be easy for Tyre and Si′don than for yor.
23 And you Ca·per′na·um, you think they will lift you up to heaven? That in the Grave* you will go; because the miracle dem that happen in you, if they wor coming happen in Sod′om, they wor coming to still be here up to today.
24 But I tell yor the truth, when Judgment Day come it will be easy for Sod′om than for you.”
25 Later on Jesus say: “My Father, you who made the heaven and the earth, I praise you in front of everybody because you hide this thing dem from the people who clever and know book and show them to people who humble like small children.
26 Yes, O Father, because that how you want it to be.”
27 Jesus also say: “My Father na put everything in my hand. Nobody really know the Son only the Father and nobody really know the Father only the Son. And people can’t really know the Father except the Son willing to teach them about Him.
28 Come to me, all of yor who tire and get heavy load and I will make yor strong again.
29 Be my disciple* and learn from me, because I humble and it hard for me to get vex. And you* will feel good.
30 Because to be my disciple it not hard* and my load* not heavy.”
