Even though you love Jehovah and trying hard not to do anything that will make him feel bad, sometime you will make mistakes. But some mistakes can be more serious than others. (1 Corinthians 6: 9,10) If you commit serious sin, it not mean that Jehovah not love you again. He willing to forgive you and help you.

1. Wetin we must do so that Jehovah can forgive us?

When those who love Jehovah know that they commit serious sin, they can really feel bad about it. But they can get comfort from the promise Jehovah made to his people. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be made as white as snow.” (Isaiah 1:18) If we repent with our whole heart, Jehovah will forgive us altogether. But how we can repent? We must really feel sorry about the bad thing we na do, stop doing it and beg Jehovah to forgive us. Then we must work hard to change our wrong thinking or the thing them we use to do that made us to commit that sin. And we must try to live the way Jehovah want us to live.—Read Isaiah 55:6, 7.

2. How Jehovah can use the elder them to help us when we sin?

If we commit serious sin, Jehovah say we must “call the elders of the congregation.” (Read James 5:14, 15.) The elder them love Jehovah and the people who serving him. The elder them qualify to help us to get good relationship with Jehovah again.—Galatians 6:1.

How the elder them can help us if we commit serious sin? Two or three elders will use the Bible to correct us. They will also encourage us and give us advice that can help us not to make the same mistake again. Maybe they will stop us from doing certain things in the congregation until our relationship with Jehovah can get strong again. To protect the congregation, the elders will disfellowship anybody who commit serious sin and refuse to repent.

3. When we confess, it can help us to get good relationship with Jehovah again

Any sin we commit is against Jehovah. That the reason why we must confess to him. Read Psalm 32:1-5, and answer the question together:

 4. How disfellowshipping can help?

If someone commit serious sin and refuse to do what Jehovah say, he can’t be part of the congregation again. He will be disfellowship and we will not go around him or even speak to him. Read 1 Corinthians 5:6, 11 and 2 John 9-11, and answer the question together:
