What the Bible Say About Allowing People to Do What They Want Do

What the Bible Say About Allowing People to Do What They Want Do

The “UNESCO Declaration of Principles on Tolerance, 1995 say that, if we allow everybody to do what they want do, then the whole world will be in peace.”

But if they not allow people to do what they want do, it can make them to not get respect for one another and even hate each other. Most of the time, this kind na feeling can make people to start saying bad-bad things to each other, looking down on certain people, and even be violent.

But people get different-different ideas on this topic. Some people believe that people who can allow other people to do what they want do, must just accept any kind na behavior. Other people agree with what the Bible say. They respect each person right to decide what they want do and what to believe, even if they not agree with the person beliefs or behavior.

Wetin the Bible say about allowing other people to decide what they want do?

Wetin the Bible Say

The Bible support the idea that people can decide what they want do. It say: “Let your reasonableness become known to all men.” (Philippians 4:5) The Bible encourage us to be kind, respectful and fair to other people. It not mean that people who following this advice supporting the thing them people doing, but they just respect people decision to decide what they want do.

The Bible tell us that God set standards for the way human being suppose to live. It say: “[God] has told you, O man, what is good.” (Micah 6:8) It tell us how God want us to live so we can be happy and enjoy our life.—Isaiah 48:17, 18.

God not tell us to be judging other people. According to the Bible, “There is only one who is Lawgiver and Judge . . . Who are you to be judging your neighbor?” (James 4:12) God give everybody the free will to decide what they want do, and he will hold them responsible for how they do it.—Deuteronomy 30:19.

What the Bible say about respect

The Bible say we must “get respect for everybody.” (1 Peter 2:17, New Jerusalem Bible) So those who choose to live by what the Bible say must treat everybody with respect, no matter what they believe and how they decide to live their life. (Luke 6:31) This one not mean that those who follow the Bible will agree with every belief or idea that other people get, or will support every decision that other people make. But instead of acting rude on other people, they must try their best to follow the way Jesus use to treat people.

For example, one day Jesus met one woman who was in different religion. This woman was also living with man who was not her husband—and that something Jesus hate. But he still talk with the woman with respect.—John 4:9, 17-24.

Like Jesus, Christians must be prepare to explain their beliefs to people who willing to listen, but they must do it with “deep respect.” (1 Peter 3:15) The Bible encourage Christians not to force their ideas on other people. It say that those who following the Christ “not need to fight, but they need to be kind to everybody,” even people who get different beliefs.—2 Timothy 2:24.

What the Bible say about hating other people

The Bible tell us to “always be in peace with everybody.” (Hebrews 12:14) Somebody who like peace can’t hate other people. They can try to live in peace with people without acting like them. (Matthew 5:9) In fact, the Bible also encourage Christians to love their enemies by acting kind to people who can treat them bad.—Matthew 5:44.

That true, the Bible say God “hate” for people to look down on other people or do bad thing to them. (Proverbs 6:16-19) The Bible use the word “hate” to show how God can feel when people do bad things. The Bible show that God willing to forgive and help people who want change their ways and live by his standards.—Isaiah 55:7.
