SONG 123 Loyally Submitting to Theocratic Order

How the Elder Dem Can Help Those Who They Na Move From the Congregation?

How the Elder Dem Can Help Those Who They Na Move From the Congregation?

“There will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous ones who have no need of repentance.”LUKE 15:7.

WHAT THE MAIN POINT?

Why they can move some people from the congregation and how the elders can help them to repent and be Jehovah friend again.

1-2. (a) How Jehovah can look at somebody who mean it to sin? (b) Wetin Jehovah want the person to do?

JEHOVAH can’t accept all kindna behavior. He really hate sin. (Ps. 5:4-6) He want us to do the thing dem he say in his Word the Bible. But he not expect us to be perfect. (Ps. 130:3, 4) At the same time, he can’t accept ‘ungodly men who turn his undeserved kindness into an excuse for brazen conduct.’ (Jude 4) Yes, the Bible say God will destroy ungodly people during Armageddon.—2 Pet. 3:7; Rev. 16:16.

2 But Jehovah not want anybody to be destroy. From what we talk about in the other article dem in this Watchtower, the Bible make it clear that he “desires all to attain to repentance.” (2 Pet. 3:9) Like Jehovah, the elder dem can be patient when they trying to help somebody who sin to get good friendship with Jehovah again. But not everybody who commit serious sin can be willing to repent. (Isa. 6:9) Some people can continue doing wrong thing even though the elder dem can try over and over to help them to repent. Wetin the elder dem must do in that kindna situation?

“REMOVE THE WICKED PERSON”

3. (a) Wetin the Bible say the elder dem must do to somebody who refuse to repent? (b) When somebody refuse to repent, why we can say that the person self leave the congregation?

3 When somebody sin and refuse to repent, the elder dem can’t do any other thing but to follow the direction in 1 Corinthians 5:13. It say: “Remove the wicked person from among yourselves.” So we can say that the person put their self in that situation. He getting the result from what he a na do. (Gal. 6:7) Why we say so? Because he refuse to repent even though the elder dem try to help him over and over. (2 Ki. 17:12-15) He show by the thing dem he can do that he not willing to obey Jehovah laws.—Deut. 30:19, 20.

4. If somebody refuse to repent and they move him from the congregation, why the elder dem can announce it?

4 When the elder dem move somebody from the congregation, they can make one announcement to let the congregation know that the person not Jehovah Witness again. b They can’t make this announcement to make the person shame. But they make it to help the brother and sister dem to do what the Bible say. It say, “stop keeping company” with that person, “not even eating with” him. (1 Cor. 5:9-11) Jehovah gave this direction for good reason. The apostle Paul say: “A little leaven ferments the whole batch of dough.” (1 Cor. 5:6) If somebody refuse to repent and they not move him from the congregation, maybe other people will think that it not important to follow Jehovah laws.—Prov. 13:20; 1 Cor. 15:33.

5. When they move somebody from the congregation, how we must look at that person, and why?

5 When they move somebody from the congregation, how we must look at that person? Even though we will not spend time with the person, but we must look at him to be lost sheep that can still come back. Sometime the sheep that lost from the other sheep dem can still come back. Remember, that person gave their life to Jehovah. Sad to say, now-now he not living by the promise he made, and that what make it bad for him. (Ezek. 18:31) But so long Jehovah willing to show him mercy, it possible for the person to still come back. How the elder dem can show that they get that same hope for somebody who they na move from the congregation?

HOW THE ELDER DEM CAN HELP THOSE WHO THEY NA MOVE FROM THE CONGREGATION?

6. Wetin the elder dem will do to help somebody who they na move from the congregation?

6 When they move somebody from the congregation, you think the elder dem can stop trying to help that person to come back to Jehovah? No! When the elder dem who on the committee tell somebody that they will move them from the congregation, they can also tell the person what to do to come back. But the elders can’t stop there. Most of the time, they will tell the person that they will like to meet with them again after few months to see whether the person na change their thinking or attitude. If the person willing to meet with the elder dem again, the elders will arrange another meeting with him to encourage him to repent and come back. Even if he not change his thinking and attitude that time, the elder dem will still try to meet with him in the future to encourage him to repent.

7. When they move somebody from the congregation, how the elder dem can follow Jehovah example to feel sorry for that person? (Jeremiah 3:12)

7 The elder dem must try their best to follow Jehovah example to feel sorry for somebody who they na move from the congregation. For example, Jehovah not wait for the Israelite dem to repent before he help them. But, he take the first step to help them even before they wor thinking about repenting. The second article in this Watchtower explain how Jehovah show that he get sorrowful heart when he tell the prophet Hosea to go forgive his wife, even though she wor still committing sin. (Hos. 3:1; Mal. 3:7) Like Jehovah, the elders really want somebody who sin to repent and come back to the congregation. And they will not make it hard for the person to come back.—Read Jeremiah 3:12.

8. How Jesus story about the son and his pa help us to understand how Jehovah feel about those who na leave the congregation? (Luke 15:7)

8 Remember Jesus story about the son who leave his pa house that we talk about in the second article in this Watchtower. As soon his pa saw him coming home, his pa “ran and embraced him and tenderly kissed him.” (Luke 15:20) Remember that the pa not wait for his son to beg him before he forgive him. But his pa wor the first to run to him because he love him. That the same way the elder dem can help those who na leave the congregation. They want all those who na leave Jehovah to “come back home.” (Luke 15:22-24, 32) When one person come back to the congregation, Jehovah, Jesus, the angels and the whole congregation can be happy!—Read Luke 15:7.

9. What Jehovah want people who commit serious sin to do?

9 From what we na already learn, it clear that Jehovah can’t allow anybody who sin and refuse to change to remain in the congregation. But he can’t also turn his back on them. He want them to come back. We can see the way Jehovah feel about them in Hosea 14:4. He say: “I will heal their unfaithfulness. I will love them of my own free will, because my anger has turned away.” This one can help the elder dem to look for any small sign that show that the person changing. And what Jehovah say must also help those who na leave him to come back quick-quick.

10-11. How the elder dem must try to help those who they move from the congregation in the past?

10 What about people who they move from the congregation in the past and maybe it na stay long? Maybe some of them finish stopping the things they wor doing that made the elders to move them from the congregation. Or maybe some of them can’t even remember what they move them for. No matter how long they na stay away from the congregation, the elders must still look for them and visit them. During the visits, they can decide to pray with him and encourage him to come back to the congregation. If the person been away from the congregation for long time, it possible that he will really be weak spiritually. So, if he say that he want come back to the congregation, the elders will decide for somebody to do his study even though they not reinstate him yet. That only the elder dem will choose somebody to study with that person.

11 The elder dem must follow Jehovah example and feel sorry for people. They must try to help everybody who na leave Jehovah to come back. So as soon they see somebody na change their thinking and attitude, they must not waste time to reinstate the person.—2 Cor. 2:6-8.

12. (a) In what situations the elder dem must really be careful? (b) Why they must not think that it not possible for Jehovah to forgive people who commit certain sins? (Also see the footnote.)

12 In certain situation, the elder dem really need to be careful before they reinstate somebody. For example, when the person guilty of child abuse, the person that apostate or the person use trick to end their marriage. The elder dem must make sure that the person really repent before they can reinstate him. (Mal. 2:14; 2 Tim. 3:6) They must protect the congregation. But we must also know that Jehovah can accept anybody who repent and stop their bad ways. Even though the elders need to be careful with people who do this kindna thing them, but they must not think that Jehovah can’t forgive people them like this. c1 Pet. 2:10.

WETIN THE CONGREGATION CAN DO

13. What the difference between the way we will treat somebody who the elder dem reprove, and somebody who they move from the congregation?

13 From what we learn in the other article before this one, sometime the elder dɛm can make announcement when they reprove somebody. When this one happen, we can continue to be around that person because we know he na change his thinking and conduct. (1 Tim. 5:20) He still part of the congregation and the brother and sister dem need to come around him to encourage him. (Heb. 10:24, 25) But it different from somebody who they na move from the congregation. We “stop keeping company” with that person, “not even eating with such a man.”—1 Cor. 5:11.

14. What decision each of us can make when it come to the way we will treat somebody who the elder dem move from the congregation? (Also see the picture.)

14 You think this one mean that when they move somebody from the congregation we must ignore the person altogether? No. That true, we will not spend time with the person. But if that person that our relative or somebody we wor close to before, then each of us can decide whether to invite them for the meeting. In case he come to the meeting? In the past, we never use to speak to the person. But now, each of us can use our Bible-train conscience to decide what to do. Some people can decide to tell the person hello or welcome the person to the meeting. But we must not stay long talking with them or spend time with them.

Each Christian can use their Bible-train conscience to decide whether to invite somebody who they na move from the congregation, to the meeting, or to just say hello to the person (See paragraph 14)

15. That who them 2 John 9-11 talking about? (Also see the box “ You Think John and Paul Wor Talking About the Same Kindna Sin?”)

15 Maybe some people will be thinking, ‘Ehn the Bible say when we tell the person hello, then we taking part in his sin?’ (Read 2 John 9-11.) The other Bible verse them around this verse help us to see that it talking about apostates and people who committing serious sin and encouraging other people to do it. (Rev. 2:20) So if somebody continue promoting apostate teachings or other wrong behavior, the elder dem will not visit that person. But it still possible for that person to repent. Nobody will say hello to that person or even invite him to the meeting until he repent.

LIKE JEHOVAH, SHOW MERCY AND FEEL SORRY FOR PEOPLE

16-17. (a) Wetin Jehovah want people who sin to do? (Ezekiel 18:32) (b) How the elder dem can show that they working with Jehovah when they trying to help somebody who commit serious sin?

16 Wetin we na learn in this Watchtower? Jehovah not want anybody to be destroy! (Read Ezekiel 18:32.) He want people who sin to come back to him. (2 Cor. 5:20) That the reason why Jehovah always use to encourage his people who leave him to repent and come back to him. So the elder dem must follow Jehovah example to help people who na sin to repent.—Rom. 2:4; 1 Cor. 3:9.

17 Just imagine how everyone in heaven can be happy when people repent! Anytime somebody come back to the congregation, Jehovah can really be happy. When we think on how Jehovah can feel sorry for us, show us mercy, and be kind to us, our love for him will continue to grow.—Luke 1:78.

SONG 111 Our Reasons for Joy

a In this article, we call the person who commit serious sin, man. But this information also apply to woman.

b When somebody sin and they move them from the congregation, we will not call them disfellowship person again. In line with what Paul say in 1 Corinthians 5:13, we will just say they move them from the congregation.

c According to the Bible, sin that God can’t forgive, that sin that somebody mean it to do and not willing to change. And that person continue to be against God. That only God can tell whether somebody commit this kindna sin.—Mark 3:29; Heb. 10:26, 27.
