When man and woman get marry, they promise to love, respect, and value each other. When they continue to get close friendship with each other, it can make them happy.—Prov. 5:18.

 2. How plenty marriage looking today?

² Sad to say, plenty marry people not sticking to the promise they made on their wedding day. For that reason, they not happy. One recent report from the World Health Organization say that plenty husbands can beat, cuss, or treat their wife bad in other ways. Sometime husband who can do this one can respect his wife in front of other people, but when they to the house, he can treat her bad. Plenty marriage can get problem when the husband start looking at naked man and naked woman picture or video.

 3. What can make some husband dem to treat their wife bad?

³ What can make some husband dem to treat their wife bad? Maybe their pa use to beat their ma, so they think that it not wrong to do the same thing too. Some men dem can treat their wife bad because that what plenty men in their culture can do. Maybe they can be harsh on their wife so that she can know that he the “boss man.” Some men dem not know how to control their feelings, even when they vex. Some of them get wrong thinking about women and sex because they can always look at naked man and naked woman picture or video. Beside that, reports show that this problem dem get worse during the Corona Virus time. But no husband must use any of this reason dem to treat their wife bad.

 4. Wetin Christian husbands must be careful about, and why?

 ⁴ Christian husbands must be careful to not let the wrong way the world can look at women to affect them. a Why? Because most of the time, the things that people can be thinking on, that what they can do. The apostle Paul warn the anointed Christian dem in Rome to “stop being molded by this system of things.” (Rom. 12:​1, 2) When Paul write his letter to the Romans, the brother and sister dem in the congregation already being serving Jehovah for some years. But what Paul say show that some people in the congregation wor still allowing the customs and the wrong thinking in the world to affect them. That why he encourage them to change their thinking and behavior. That advice also apply to Christian husbands today. Sad to say, some of them na let the way the world can think to affect them and they can even treat their wife bad. b How Jehovah expect husband to treat their wife?  5. According to 1 Peter 3:​7, how husband must treat his wife?

⁵ Read 1 Peter 3:7. Jehovah tell husbands to honor their wife. To honor somebody mean, to treat them with respect. Husband who can honor his wife will be kind to her and show her love. In this article, we will learn how husband can show love and respect to his wife. But first, let talk about some thing dem that husband must never do to his wife.

 6. How Jehovah feel about men dem who can beat their wife? (Colossians 3:19)

⁶ Don’t beat your wife. Jehovah hate violent people. (Ps. 11:5) He hate any man who can beat their wife. (Mal. 2:16; read Colossians 3:19.) According to our theme scripture, 1 Peter 3:​7, if any husband treat his wife bad, it can spoil his friendship with God. It can even make Jehovah to not listen to his prayers.

⁷ Don’t cuss your wife. Some husbands can talk to their wife bad way. Jehovah hate “anger, wrath, screaming, and abusive speech.” c (Read Ephesians 4:​31, 32.) Jehovah can hear everything. He must not play around other women or even think about it. Jesus say  that any man who look at another woman and think about laying down with her, na already commit adultery “in his heart.” e—Matt. 5:​28, 29.

 9. Why Jehovah not like for the man to do something that will bother his wife conscience when they having sex?

⁹ Don’t do something that will bother her conscience when yor having sex. Some husbands can force their wife to do things they not want do, or things that will bother her conscience when they having sex. Jehovah hate this kindna bad and selfish behavior. He want for husband to love their wife, value her and respect her feelings. (Eph. 5:​28, 29) Suppose the husband already doing things that can bother his wife conscience when they having sex? Or he can cuss her or he can look at naked man and naked woman picture or video? How he can change his thinking and his behavior?

HOW TO STOP THAT KINDNA BAD BEHAVIOR

10. What husband must do to benefit from Jesus example?

¹⁰ If the husband get this kindna behavior dem we talk about, wetin can help him to overcome it? He must try to follow Jesus example. Even though Jesus wor not marry, but the way he treat his disciple dem, that good example for the way husbands must treat their wife. (Eph. 5:25) For example, see what husbands can learn from the way Jesus use to treat his disciple dem and the way he talk to them.

11. How Jesus use to treat his disciple dem?

¹¹ Jesus wor always kind to his disciples and he use to treat them with respect. He not use to control them or be harsh on them. Even though he wor having power more than them, he not use it to make them to be scare of him. But, he bring his self down and serve them. (John 13:​12-17) He tell his disciple dem say: “Learn from me, because I humble and it hard for me to get vex and you will feel good.” (Matt. 11:​28-30) Notice that Jesus wor hard to get vex. Somebody who hard to get vex, not weak. But they get the strength to be able to control their self. When they vex they can remain calm, and they able to control their feelings.

12. How Jesus use to talk to people?

¹² The way Jesus use to talk to people made them feel good, and it comfort them. He not use to talk harsh way to his disciple dem. (Luke 8:​47, 48) Even when people who wor against him cuss him and try to make him vex, he not cuss them back. (1 Pet. 2:​21-23) Sometime, Jesus even use to decide to not say anything instead of talking harsh way. (Matt. 27:​12-14) Ehn that good example here for Christian husbands?

13. According to Matthew 19:​4-6, how husband can “stick to his wife”? (Also see the picture.)

¹³ Jesus tell husbands to remain faithful to their wife. He quote from his Pa who say husband must “stick to his wife.” (Read Matthew 19:​4-6.) The Greek word they use in this verse for “stick to” mean “to glue.” So, the love between the husband and the wife must really be strong just like they glue them together. Nothing can move them from together without hurting two of them. The husband who love his wife, will not look at any kindna naked man and naked woman picture or video. When he see anything that not looking correct, he will take his eye from there quick-quick. (Ps. 119:37) When he do it, it will  be just like he signing contract with his eyes to not look at any woman to get feelings for her.—Job 31:1.

14. What some thing dem the husband who can treat his wife bad must do to fix his friendship with his wife and Jehovah?

¹⁴ Any husband who can beat or cuss his wife need to do some other thing dem to fix his friendship with his wife and Jehovah. Wetin he must do? 1. He must know that bad thing he doing and he can’t hide it from Jehovah. (Ps. 44:21; Eccl. 12:14; Heb. 4:13) 2. He must stop treating his wife bad and change his behavior. (Prov. 28:13) 3. He must tell his wife and Jehovah sorry and ask them to forgive him. (Acts 3:19) He must also beg Jehovah to help him to change and to be able to control the way he can think, talk and act. (Ps. 51:​10-12; 2 Cor. 10:5; Phil. 2:13) 4. He must act in line with his prayers by hating all type of violence and cussing. (Ps. 97:10) 5. He must go to the elder dem quick-quick to help him. (Jas. 5:​14-16) 6. He must make plan that will remind him to not do this wrong thing dem again. Any husband who can look at naked man and naked woman picture or video, must do this same thing dem too. Jehovah will bless the effort he making to change his behavior. (Ps. 37:5) He must not only stop this bad behavior dem. But he must also learn to show love and respect to his wife. How he can do it?

HOW YOU CAN SHOW LOVE AND RESPECT TO YOUR WIFE?

15. Wetin husband can do to show his wife that he love her?

¹⁵ Show your wife that you love her. Some brother dem who happy in their marriage say they can do some thing dem every day to show that they really love their wife. (1 John 3:18) The husband can show his wife that he really love her by doing some small-small thing dem like, holding her hand or hugging  her. Maybe he can send her text message and say: “I really missing you” or he can ask her, “How your day going?” From time to time, maybe he can give her gifts to show that he love her. When the husband do this thing dem, he can show that he love and respect his wife and it can make their marriage strong.

16. Why husband must praise his wife?

¹⁶ Praise her. Husband who love and respect his wife will praise her and encourage her. One way he can do it, that to tell her thank you for all the thing dem she doing to support him. (Col. 3:15) When the husband praise his wife from his heart, it can make her happy. She will feel safe and know that her husband love her and respect her.—Prov. 31:28.

17. How husband can show respect to his wife?

¹⁷ Be kind and show respect. Husband who love his wife can value her. He look at her to be precious gift from Jehovah. (Prov. 18:22; 31:10) And because of that, he can be kind and show her respect even when they having sex. He will not lay down with her in the way that will make her to feel bad, shame or bother her conscience. f He will also try to not do anything that will bother his conscience.—Acts 24:16.

¹⁸ Husbands, you can be sure that Jehovah seeing that you trying your best to show love and respect to your wife in everything you say and do. Continue to show love and respect to your wife by not doing anything that will make her to feel bad. You can also do it by being kind, respectful and showing love to her. If you do it, you will show that you love her and value her. When you show love and respect to your wife, you will be protecting your friendship with Jehovah. And that the most important one.—Ps. 25:14.
