The brother them in Bethel work for more than one year to build the WBBR radio station on Staten Island, New York City. When they clear the land, they built one big house for the worker them, and they build another one for the radio station. After they finish the work, the brothers started putting the materials together for the radio station. But they were having some problems to solve.

The brother them catch hard time to install the main antenna for the station. The antenna was 91 meters (300ft) long. They suppose to hang it between two sticks. And each of this sticks was 61 meters (200 ft) long. The first time they try it, they not make it. But because the brother them trust in Jehovah, they were able to put it up. Calvin Prosser, who work on the project say: “If we were coming put it up the first time, we were coming praise our self and say, ‘See the good work we na do!’” The brother them praise Jehovah for helping them. But they were still coming to face some problems.

Radio station business was still new, so it was hard to find the material them for it. So they got one second hand 500-watt transmitter. Instead of buying microphone, they use the one from the telephone. One night in February, the brother them started testing all the equipment. They needed program to put on the radio, so the brother them sing Kingdom songs. Ernest Lowe remember some kindna funny thing that happen. He say, when the brothers were singing on the radio, they receive call from Judge  Rutherford, b who was listening to his radio and hear them singing. Brother Rutherford was in Brooklyn, about 25 kilometers (15 mi) away from the radio station.

Brother Rutherford tell them say: “Yor stop that noise. Yor sounding like yor yelling!” The brother them were embarrass small, so they stop the program quick. But they were sure that they were ready to do their first radio program.

On February 24, 1924, during the first radio program, Brother Rutherford say: “They will use the radio station to do the work that the King, Jesus tell them to do. The reason why they build this radio station, that to help people understand the Bible good-good and the time we living in, no matter their religion.”

That first radio program was successful. For 33 years, the organization use WBBR to do their radio program.

In July 1924, the Bible Students came together for convention in Columbus, Ohio. People came from all over the world for the convention. And they listen to talks in Arabic, English, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Lithuanian, Polish, Russian, the Scandinavian languages, and Ukrainian. They put some parts of the program on the radio. The brothers ask one newspaper in their area to write articles about the convention program every day.

On Thursday, July 24, more than 5,000 brothers and sisters went to preach in the area they were having the convention. They place almost 30,000 books and started plenty Bible studies. The Watch Tower call this day “the most happy part of the convention.”

Another important part of the convention was on Friday, July 25, when Brother Rutherford was brave to read one document that condemn the religious leaders. The document say, The government people, big-big business people and the religious leaders “stopping people from learning the truth about God Kingdom that will bring blessing to everybody.” Beside that, this document say that this men them also “form the League of Nations, and say, that what God using ‘to bring peace on the earth.’” So  the Bible Students needed to be brave to continue preaching this message to the people.

The Watch Tower talk about how the convention help people. It say: “This Columbus Convention made the brother and sister them faith . . . strong. It help them to be brave to preach even if people go against them.” Leo Claus, who was to that convention say: “The convention gave us the zeal to preach this message in our territory.”

In October, the Bible Students started sharing plenty of the tract that was having the message that Brother Rutherford read during that convention. Frank Johnson share plenty of the tracts in one small town in Cleveland, Oklahoma. He finish placing the tracts to where they assign him 20 minutes before the time the other publisher them suppose to come for him. It was not safe for him to wait to the place where people will see him, because some men them from the town who were vex because of his preaching, were looking for him. So Brother Johnson decide to hide in one church that was near him. Nobody was in the church, so he put tract in the pastor Bible and in each chair. Then he run away from there quick-quick. He was still having time, so he went to two more churches, and he do the same thing.

Frank run back quick to the place he and the other brother them suppose to meet. He hide behind one gas station, so the men them who were looking for him can’t see him. The men them pass near the place, but they not see him. By the time the men them left, the brothers who were preaching around there come quick and carry him.

One of the brothers say, “When we were leaving the town, we pass by the three churches. And about 50 people were standing in front of each church. Some people were reading the tract and some of them were putting it up for the pastor to see it. We left from there the right time so we can’t get in any problem! We tell Jehovah thank you plenty for protecting us and giving us the idea to hide from people who against the preaching work.”

The Bible Students in other countries, were brave to preach the same way. In the north part of France, Józef Krett preach to some people from Poland who were working on the coal mine. He made arrangement to give one talk with the title “The Resurrection of the Dead Soon.” When they share the invitations to the people in the town, one priest tell his member them to not attend. But the people not listen to him. More than 5,000 people went to listen to that talk, and even the priest was there! Brother Krett tell the priest to defend his beliefs, but he refuse. Brother Krett place all the literature he was having because the people really wanted to know more about the Bible.—Amos 8:11.

In Africa, Claude Brown came to the Gold Coast (now-now, they call it Ghana), to preach the good news. The publications he place and the talk them he gave, help to spread the good news quick-quick in that country. John Blankson, who was studying medicine listen to one of Brother Brown talk. He knew straight that he na find the truth. John say: “The truth really made me happy. And I use to tell other people about it in my school.”

 One day, John went to one Anglican church to ask the priest question about the Trinity. It was clear to John now that the Trinity teaching was not coming from the Bible. The priest get vex bad way and started shouting. He tell John say: “You not Christian; you belong to the Devil. Move from here!”

When John reach home, he write one letter to the priest for them to meet in public and talk about the Trinity. The priest call John to the main teacher office, so the teacher can ask him if that he the one who write the letter to the priest.

John say, “Yes Sir, that me write it”.

The teacher say John must write letter to the priest and tell him sorry. So John write the letter and say:

“Sir, my teacher tell me to write letter to you and tell you sorry. And I prepare to say sorry, but I want you to agree that the thing them you teaching from the Bible not true.”

The teacher mouth was full and he ask Blankson, “that what you want write?”

Blankson say, “Yes, Sir. That all I able to write.”

The teacher say, “We will put you out of this school. You can’t remain in this school if you continue talking against the priest, because that the government supporting this church.”

Blankson say, “But, Sir, . . . when you give us lessons and we not understand something, ehn we can ask you questions?”

The teacher say, “Yes, yor can ask questions.”

Blankson say, “But Sir, that just what happen. The priest was teaching us the Bible and I ask him one question. If he not able to answer the question, then why I must write letter to tell him sorry?”

Blankson stay in the school and he not write the letter to say sorry.

Talking about what happen during that year, The Watch Tower say: “We can really agree with David who say: ‘You will equip me with strength for the battle.’ (Psalm 18:39) We were really encourage this year, because we see how Jehovah help us to do his work . . . His faithful servants . . . been happy preaching the good news.”

Almost to the end of that year, the brothers made plans to build another radio station. They build that radio station near Chicago in America. They call this new radio station WORD. They use equipment that was more powerful so that people who were far off can hear the Kingdom message.

In the year 1925, Jehovah help the brother them to understand new information about Revelation chapter 12. And it really made them happy. Because of that new understanding, some people stop serving Jehovah. But plenty other people were happy to get clear understanding about the thing them that happen in heaven and how it affect them.
