Kubayini yesi-2 kaSamyela 21:7-9 ithi, uDavida ‘wambabalela uMefi-Bhotjheti’ kodwana wanikela uMefi-Bhotjheti bona abulawe?

Abanye abangakhenge baziphe isikhathi sokufunda indaba le bazibuze umbuzo lo. Iqiniso kukuthi endabeni le bekunaboMefi-Botjheti ababili begodu kunokuthileko esingakufunda ngokuhlolisisa okwenzekako.

IKosi uSawula yakwa-Israyeli beyinamadodana alikhomba namadodakazi amabili. Indodanakhe yokuthoma bekunguJonathani. Ngokukhamba kwesikhathi ikosi le yaba nendodana ibizo layo linguMefi-Botjheti obekabelethwa likhohlo lakhe uRitsipha. Okurarako kukuthi noJonathani bekanendodana ibizo layo linguMefi-Botjheti. Ngaphezu kwalokho, iKosi uSawula yathiya womabili amadodana ngebizo elifanako, indodanakhe kunye nomzukulwakhe amabizwabo bekuboMefi-Botjheti.

Kesinye isikhathi, iKosi uSawula yathoma ukuhloya beGibhiyoni begodu yalinga ukubabulala boke. Kubonakala ngasithi kwabulawa abathileko abambalwa. Kuyakhanya bona lokho bekungakalungi. Kubayini sitjho njalo? Kungombana ngesikhathi sakaJotjhuwa, ubukhosi bakwa-Israyeli benza isivumelwano sokuthula nebeGibhiyoni.—Jotj. 9:3-27.

Isivumelwaneso besisasebenza ngesikhathi sokubusa kweKosi uSawula. Ikosi yalinga ukwenza okuphambene nesivumelwano ngokuthi ibulale boke beGibhiyoni. Umphumela wesenzweso kwaba kukuthi ‘uSawula kanye nekumbakhe izale iingazi.’ (2 Sam. 21:1) Ekugcineni uDavida waba yikosi. BeGibhiyoni abasindako bakhuluma noDavida ngobuhlungu abaqalana nabo. UDavida wababuza bona kungenziwa njani ukubuyisana ngemva kwezenzo ezimbi zakaSawula begodu bafumane nendlela yokobana uJehova abusise inarhabo. Kunokubawa imali, bakwaGibhiyoni babawa ukuthi amadodanakhe alikhomba ‘abulawe bekarhubutjhwe.’ (Num. 35:30, 31) UDavida wasamukela isibawo sabo.—2 Sam. 21:2-6.

Ngesikhatheso, uSawula noJonathani besele bahlongakele epini kodwana indodana kaJonathani uMefi-Botjhethi beyisaphila. Bekayisirhole ngebanga lengozi eyamehlela asesemncani begodu khenge abenengcenye ezenzweni zakabamkhulwakhe zokusahlela beGibhiyoni. UDavida bekenze isivumelwano sobungani noJonathani ebesizokuzuzisa abantwana bakhe kunye nendodana kaJonathani uMefi-Botjheti. (1 Sam. 18:1; 20:42) Ukulandisokhu kuthi: “Ikosi yambabalela uMefi-Bhotjheti umsa kaJonathani umsa kaSawula ngebanga lesifungo esenziwa phambi kwakaSomnini phakathi kwakaDavida noJonathani.”—2 Sam. 21:7.

UDavida wasihlonipha isibawo sebeGibhiyoni. Wabanikela amadodana amabili kaSawula enye yawo yathiywa ngokuthi nguMefi-Botjheti kunye neenzukulwana ezihlanu zakaSawula. (2 Sam. 21:8, 9) Isenzo sakaDavida saqeda umlandu weengazi enarheni leyo.

Indaba le ayisimlando nje kwaphela. Umthetho kaZimu bewukhanya bha. Bewuthi: ‘Abantwana abangabulawa ngebanga laboyise.’ (Dut. 24:16) UJehova bekangekhe akuvumele lokho okwenzeka emadodaneni amabili kaSawula kunye neenzukulwana zakhe ezihlanu ngathana bebanganamlandu. Umthetho lo wangezelela wathi: “Omunye nomunye uzakufela isono sakhe.” Kubonakala ngasuthi abantwana bakaSawula bebanesandla emzamweni kaSawula yokubulala beGibhiyoni. Lokho kwenza bona abantu abalikhomba babhadele ngobumbi ababenzako.

Indaba le isikhanyisela kuhle ukuthi umuntu ngeze ababelele izenzo zakhe ezimbi ngokuthi athi bekalandela iinqophiso. Isaga esithileko sithi: “Utjheje umzila walapha ugadanga khona, ngalokho iindlela zakho zizakunqopha.”—IzA. 4:24-27; Efe. 5:15.
