  • agasiyaavin saavai patriya eliyaavin thīrkkadharisanam (1-18)

1  aagaab irandha pinbu, isravēlai edhirtthu mōvaab+ kalagam seidhadhu.  andha samayatthil, samaariyaavilulla aranmanai kūraiyin saalaram* valiyaaga agasiyaa vilundhu kaayamadaindhaar. adhanaal thūdhuvargalai kūppittu, “enakku gunamaagumaa aagaadhaa endru ekrōnin+ dheivamaana paagaal-sebūbidam pōi visaaritthuvittu vaarungal”+ endru solli anuppinaar.  appōdhu yegōvaavin thūdhar thisbiyanaana eliyaavidam,*+ “nī purappattu pōi samaariyaa raajaavin thūdhuvargalai paartthu, ‘isravēlil kadavul illaiyendraa ekrōnin dheivamaana paagaal-sebūbidam visaarikka pōgirīrgal?+  adhanaal, “nī paduttha padukkaiyaagavē kidappaai. nichayam setthuppōvaai”’ endru yegōvaa solgiraar enbadhaaga sol” endraar. adhanpadiyē, eliyaa angirundhu pōnaar.  thūdhuvargal thirumbi vandhadhum agasiyaa avargalidam, “ēn thirumbi vandhuvittīrgal?” endru kēttaar.  adharku avargal raajaavidam ippadi sonnaargal: “valiyil oruvar engalai paarkka vandhaar. avar engalidam, ‘ungalai anuppiya raajaavidam thirumbi pōngal. avaridam, “isravēlil kadavul illaiyendraa ekrōnin dheivamaana paagaal-sebūbidam visaarikka aatkalai anuppinaai? adhanaal, nī paduttha padukkaiyaagavē kidappaai. nichayam setthuppōvaai”+ endru yegōvaa solgiraar enbadhaaga sollungal’ endraar.”  appōdhu avar, “ungalidam indha seidhiyai sonnavar paarppadharku eppadi irundhaar?” endru kēttaar.  adharku avargal, “avar rōmatthaalaana udaiyai+ pōttirundhaar. iduppil thōl vaarai kattiyirundhaar”+ endru sonnaargal. udanē agasiyaa, “avar thisbiyanaana eliyaadhaan” endru sonnaar.  pinbu, raajaa 50 vīrargalin thalaivaraiyum avarudaiya 50 vīrargalaiyum eliyaavidam anuppinaar. avar angē pōnapōdhu eliyaa oru malaimēl utkaarndhirundhaar. andha thalaivar avaridam, “unmai kadavulin ūliyarē,+ raajaa ungalai kīlē vara solgiraar” endraar. 10  adharku eliyaa, “naan kadavulin ūliyan endraal, vaanatthilirundhu neruppu vandhu+ unnaiyum unnudan vandha 50 pēraiyum alitthuppōdattum” endru sonnaar. udanē, vaanatthilirundhu neruppu vandhu andha thalaivaraiyum 50 vīrargalaiyum alitthuppōttadhu. 11  marubadiyum raajaa vēroru 50 vīrargalin thalaivaraiyum avarudaiya 50 vīrargalaiyum eliyaavidam anuppinaar. eliyaavidam andha thalaivar pōi, “unmai kadavulin ūliyarē, raajaa ungalai udanē kīlē vara solgiraar” endraar. 12  adharku eliyaa, “naan unmai kadavulin ūliyan endraal, vaanatthilirundhu neruppu vandhu unnaiyum unnudan vandha 50 pēraiyum alitthuppōdattum” endru sonnaar. udanē, kadavul anuppiya neruppu vaanatthilirundhu vandhu andha thalaivaraiyum 50 vīrargalaiyum alitthuppōttadhu. 13  mūndraavadhu dhadavaiyaaga innoru 50 vīrargalin thalaivaraiyum avarudaiya 50 vīrargalaiyum eliyaavidam raajaa anuppinaar. andha thalaivar eliyaavidam pōi avar munnaal mandipōttu, karunai kaatta solli mandraadinaar. “unmai kadavulin ūliyarē, dhayavuseidhu enakkum ungaludaiya ūliyargalaana indha 50 pērukkum uyirppichai kodungal. 14  idharku munnaal vaanatthilirundhu neruppu vandhu 50 vīrargalukku thalaivargal irandu pēraiyum avargaludan vandha aimbadhu aimbadhu vīrargalaiyum alitthuppōttadhu. adhēpōl ennaiyum alitthuvidaadhīrgal” endru kenjinaar. 15  appōdhu yegōvaavin thūdhar eliyaavidam, “ivarōdu pō. edharkum bayappadaadhē” endru sonnaar. adhanaal, eliyaa avarudan pōi raajaavai sandhitthaar; 16  “ekrōnin+ dheivamaana paagaal-sebūbidam visaarikka aatkalai anuppinaayē. ēn, isravēlil kadavul illaiyaa?+ nī ēn avaridam visaarikkavillai? adhanaal, nī paduttha padukkaiyaagavē kidappaai. nichayam setthuppōvaai endru yegōvaa solgiraar” endru raajaavidam sonnaar. 17  eliyaa mūlam yegōvaa sonnapadiyē agasiyaa irandhupōnaar. avarukku magan illaadhadhaal, adutthu yōraam*+ raajaavaanaar. yūdhaavin raajaavaana yōsabaatthin maganaagiya yōraam aatchi seidha irandaam varushatthil idhu nadandhadhu.+ 18  agasiyaavin+ vaalkkaiyil nadandha matra vishayangal, avar seidha kaariyangal ellaam isravēl raajaakkalin saritthira butthagatthil eludhappattirukkiradhu.
