I grow up for one quiet town near Tampere for Finland. My family no too like religion but them like make person get good character and make e go school. My mama come from Germany and when I dey small, I de go spend some time for West Germany, the place wey my grandpapa and grandmama de live.

 I don like sport since when I dey small. When I de grow, I de play all type of sport, but when I dey around 14 years, I decide to de play only tennis. When I dey 16 years, I de train two or three times everyday. I get two type of professional training, and for evening I go practice by myself. Na the different-different part wey the game get make me like-am, as I de play the game e de help me know where my power reach and how I fit do more. I de enjoy to spend time with my friends and sometimes drink beer, but I never enter trouble before because of drug or alcohol. That time, everything about my life na tennis, because na the number one thing for my life.

 I start to play for ATP competition when I dey 17 years. a After I don win some competition I come dey popular for my country. When I dey 22 years, I dey among the top 50 tennis player for the whole world.

 For many years, I travel go different-different place for the world de play tennis. I see many fine-fine place, but I still see many problem wey de happen for the world. Part of this problem be say, people de break law, them de take drugs anyhow, and de do some things to affect other people life for bad way​—like to spoil water and the air wey people de breath. For example when we go United States, them tell us make we no go some areas because plenty bad things de happen for there. All this things really disturb me. Even though say I de do the work wey I really like, for the end of everyday, inside my heart I de feel say something de miss for my life.

 My girl friend wey im name na Sanna, don start to study Bible with Jehovah Witness people. The thing dey funny to me when I see say e like to learn about religion, but I no talk say make e stop to study Bible. We marry for 1990, and the next year e baptize as one of Jehovah Witness. As for me, I no see myself as person wey like to learn about religion, but I believe say God dey. I remember say my grand mama wey come from Germany de read Bible everytime, and e even teach me how to pray.

 One day, wey me and Sanna go visit one husband and wife wey be witness, the husband wey im name na Kari, show me wetin Bible don already talk say go happen for “last days.” (2 Timothy 3:​1-5) As I know the reason why things really bad for the world, this one touch my heart. That day we no talk much about religion. But from that time, I start to discuss with Kari about Bible, and everything wey I de learn make sense. Kari no de too meet me for house because of my busy life and I de travel well-well. But even with this one, Kari no tire. E go just sofri write letter to answer the questions wey I ask when we de study. The way Bible answer all the important question about for life dey clear and simple. Small-small, I come de understand the main point, say na the Kingdom of God go make all the things wey God want happen. As I learn say the name of God na Jehovah, and see all the things wey e don do for us, this one really touch me. (Psalm 83:18) But the one wey touch me pass be say, God give e son to die for us. This one no be something wey them just plan or wey just follow wetin law talk, but e show say God really love us. (John 3:​16) I still learn say I get the chance to be friend of God and live forever for Paradise wey peace dey. (James 4:⁠8) So I start to ask myself say, “How I fit show say I value this things wey God don do for me?”

 I think deep about the way I de live my life. I de learn from Bible say na when person de give e go happy pass when e de receive. So I feel say I need to tell other people the things wey I believe. (Acts 20:35) I de spend about 200 days every year to travel for competition. I de spend too much time for trianing and for my work, and this one de affect my family. So I come know say I need to change.

 I know say many people no go undersatand why I go decide to stop this kind sport wey de pay me well, just because of religion. But the chance to know Jehovah more and live forever for Paradise dey more important to me pass any prize wey I fit win for tennis. So this one make-am dey easy for me to make my decision. I decide say I no go listen to wetin people de talk, na me go decide wetin I want do. One Bible verse wey really help me make I no change my decision na Psalm 118:6: “Jehovah dey for my side; I no go fear. Wetin person fit do to me?”

 Around that time, some tennis club de try to give me contract wey go allow me to play tennis for many years so that I no go worry about anything. But, I don already decide, so I reject the contract and at last I stop to play for ATP competition. I continue to study Bible, and for July 2, 1994, I baptize as one of Jehovah Witness.

 For my own case, bad thing no happen to me wey make me come de think about God. And I no even see myself as person wey find the truth. I be feel say my life dey okay for me and I no need any other thing. But, just as I no expect, e just be like say the truth from Bible don de wait for me to see-am. I come see say life get more meaning pass as I de think, and my life don better pass as I fit think say e go be! Our family don really dey strong and we de live as one pass before. I really dey happy say my three boys follow my example​​—no be for sport, but as Christians.

 I still de enjoy to play tennis. For all this years, na work wey concern tennis de help me to get money to support my family. I de work as coach and as manager for one tennis club. But sport no be the number one thing for my life again. Before, I de spend many hours to train every week so that I go be better tennis player or champion. But now, as I de preach full-time, I dey happy to use my time help other people learn and do the things for Bible wey change my life. The thing wey de make me happy pass for my life na my friendship with Jehovah God wey be the first thing for my life and to tell other people the hope wey I get for future.​​—1 Timothy 6:​19.
