1  Me, Paul, wey them call to be apostle of Christ Jesus because na wetin God want, Sos′the·nes our brother dey with me.  I de write to the congregation of God wey dey Corinth, to una wey God don make holy as people wey de follow Christ Jesus, una wey God call to be holy people, together with everybody for everywhere wey de call the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, wey be their Lord and our own:  Make the special favor and peace from God our Papa and the Lord Jesus Christ dey with una.  I de always thank my God for una, because of the special favor of God wey e give una as people wey de follow Christ Jesus;  because God don really bless una for everything as una be one with Jesus, and e don make una to really sabi talk and to really know things,  just as them don make the message about Christ to really dey strong among una,  so that una no go need any gift at all as una de use all una heart wait for the time wey our Lord Jesus Christ go appear.*  God go still make una stand strong go reach the end, so that nobody go fit talk bad against una for the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.  God no de fail, and na the Person wey call una to join* with im Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 10  Now my brothers, I de use the name of our Lord Jesus Christ de encourage una say, make all of una de agree for wetin una de talk, and make una no de cause separation among unaself. Instead, make una get one mind for everything and de think for the same way. 11  My brothers, some people from the family of Chlo′e don tell me about una say serious quarrel-quarrel dey among una. 12  The thing wey I mean be say, some of una de talk say: “I de follow Paul,” other people de talk say, “I de follow A·pol′los,” some other people still de talk say, “I de follow Ce′phas,”* and other ones de talk say, “I de follow Christ.” 13  So Christ divide to different-different group? No be Paul them kill ontop the pole for una, na Paul? Or na for the name of Paul them baptize una? 14  I thank God say I no baptize any of una, except Cris′pus and Ga′ius, 15  so that nobody go fit talk say them baptize una for my name. 16  The truth be say, I still baptize people for the house of Steph′a·nas. As for the other people, I no know whether I baptize any of them. 17  Christ send me, no be to baptize people, but na to tell people the good news, and I no use big-big words* do this one, so that the death of Christ for the torture pole* no go dey useless. 18  The message about the torture pole* na foolish thing for people wey go die, but na the power of God e be for us wey God de save. 19  Because them don write-am say: “I go destroy the sense of people wey get sense, and I go reject* the sense of people wey know book.” 20  Where the person wey get sense dey? Where the scribe* dey? Where the person wey sabi argue for this world* dey? God don make the sense of the world dey foolish, no be so? 21  The sense wey God get show for this way: the world no use im own sense to know God, but God happy to save people wey believe the message wey them preach wey other people see as foolish things. 22  Jew people de look for signs and Greek people de look for sense, 23  but we de preach say them kill Christ ontop the pole. This one de make Jew people vex, but for the nations, na foolish thing. 24  But for people wey God don call, whether them be Jew people or Greek people, Christ na the power of God and the sense of God. 25  Because the things from God wey people think say na foolish things get sense pass people, and the things from God wey people think say na weak things strong pass people. 26  My brothers, una know say plenty of una wey God call na people wey the world de see as people wey no get sense, plenty of una no get power, and plenty of una no come from important family. 27  But God choose the foolish things for the world to shame the people wey get sense; and God choose the weak things for the world to shame the strong things. 28  And God choose the things wey no dey important for the world and the things wey people no value, the things wey them de see as nothing, so that e go make the things wey them see as important things to be nothing, 29  so that nobody* go fit boast for front of God. 30  Because of God, una be one with Christ Jesus wey don show us the sense wey God get and still make us know the thing wey correct for God eye and make us dey holy and pay the price to free us, 31  so that e go be as them write-am say: “Make the person wey de boast, boast about Jehovah.”
