First John 2:1-29
2 My small children, I de write this things to una so that una no go sin. But if anybody sin, we get person wey de help us* and e dey with the Papa. This person na Jesus Christ, wey de do wetin correct for God eye.
2 And na im be the sacrifice wey de make us get peace again with God,* but no be only for us, but for the whole world.
3 And wetin go make us know say we don know-am na, if we continue to de obey im commandments.
4 The person wey de talk say, “I don know-am,” but e no de obey im commandments, na lie-lie person e be, and truth no dey inside this kind person.
5 But if person de do the things wey e talk, that one go make-am clear say the person really love God. Na this one de make us know say we be one with-am.
6 Person wey de talk say e still dey as one with-am must continue to live im life the way that one live im life.*
7 My dear brothers, no be new commandment I de write to una, but na old commandment wey una don already know from the beginning. This old commandment na word wey una don hear before.
8 But this one na still new commandment, na commandment wey Jesus follow, and wey una de follow too. Because the darkness don de go and the real light don already de shine.
9 If person talk say e dey inside light, but e hate im brother, na darkness the person still dey.
10 Person wey love im brother dey for the light and e no get anything wey go make-am fall.*
11 But person wey hate im brother dey for darkness and e de waka for darkness and e no know where e de go because the darkness no let-am see road.
12 Small children, I de write to una because God don forgive una sins because of im* name.
13 I de write to una, una wey be papa, because una don know the person wey dey from beginning. I de write to una, una wey be young men, because una don win the wicked person. I de write to una, small children, because una don know the Papa.
14 I de write to una, una wey be papa, because una don know the person wey dey from beginning. I de write to una, young men, because una dey strong and the word of God still dey inside una and una don win the wicked person.
15 Make una no love the world or the things wey dey for the world. If anybody love the world, this person no get the love of the Papa,
16 because everything wey dey for the world, like, the things wey body want, the things wey the eyes want and to de show the things wey person get,* no be from the Papa, but na from the world.
17 Another thing be say, the world and all the things for the world wey people want, don de go. But the person wey do wetin God want, go dey forever.
18 My children wey I love, na the last hour we dey so. And just as una don hear say the person wey dey against Christ* de come, even now, many people wey dey against Christ don come. Na this one make us know say na the last hour we dey.
19 Them be dey with us, but them comot leave us because them dey different from us.* If to say them no dey different from us, them for stay with us. But them comot so that e go clear say no be everybody be like us.
20 And the holy one don anoint una, and all of una know the truth.
21 I no de write to una because una no know the truth, but na because una know-am, and because say lie no fit dey inside truth.
22 Who be the lie-lie person? No be person wey no gree say na Jesus be the Christ? This one na the person wey dey against Christ,* wey de reject the Papa and the Son.
23 Anybody wey de reject the Son no dey as one with the Papa, but anybody wey de talk say e know the Son, dey as one with the Papa too.
24 As for una, wetin una hear from the beginning must continue to dey una heart. If wetin una hear from the beginning continue to dey una heart, una go still dey as one with the Son and dey as one with the Papa.
25 And e don still promise us say e go give us life wey no go end.
26 I de write this things to una because of the people wey de try to deceive una.
27 As for una, God use im spirit anoint una, and that spirit dey with una, so una no need anybody to de teach una. But God de use that spirit teach una everything, and wetin e de teach na true, no be lie. So make una continue to dey as one with-am just as the spirit teach una to do.
28 So now, small children, make una continue to dey as one with-am so that when e go show imself to us, we no go fear to talk and hide from-am because of shame, when e don dey around.
29 Since una know say e de do wetin correct for God eye, make una know say anybody wey de do wetin correct for God eye na im pikin.
