First Peter 2:1-25
2 So make una comot hand from all kind of bad things, to de deceive people, to de pretend, to de jealous other people, and to de talk all kind of bad things against people.
2 Just like pikin them wey them just born, make una do wetin go make the pure milk* wey de come from the word of God de hungry una. This one go make una grow well so that God go save una,
3 and una fit do this one if una don see-am for unaself say* the Lord get better mind.
4 As una de come meet-am, im wey be stone wey get life wey people don reject, but wey God don choose, and wey get high value for God eye,
5 unaself wey be stones wey get life, God de use im spirit build una like house, so that una go fit be holy priests wey the spirit of God de direct to give God sacrifice wey e go accept because of Jesus Christ.
6 Because the Word of God talk say: “See! For Zion, I de set one stone wey I don choose for ground. This stone na the main foundation stone and e get high value, and anybody wey show say e get faith for-am no go ever shame.”
7 So na for una eye e get high value because una believe-am, but no be so e be for people wey no believe-am. The word of God talk say, “the stone wey the people wey de build house reject don be the main foundation stone,”*
8 and “stone wey de make people fall and rock wey de block their road.” Them de fall because them no obey the word, and na wetin go happen to them last-last be that.
9 But una be “tribe wey them don choose, una be kings wey be priests too, una be holy nation, una be special people to God, so that una go tell people everywhere about the better-better character”* of this God wey call una come out from darkness enter im wonderful light.
10 Because una no be people of God before, but now, una don be people of God. Before, them no show una pity, but now, them don show una pity.
11 My dear brothers and sisters, as strangers and people wey go live for short time for this world, I de beg una say, make una continue to run from those things wey una body want, wey de fight una.
12 Make una continue to behave well as una dey the world, so that when people de talk say una be bad people, them go fit see the fine things wey una de do, and because of that one, when God go come check, them go praise-am.
13 Because of the Lord, make una put unaself under everybody wey get authority, whether na king, because e high pass una,
14 or governors wey e send to punish bad people and to praise people wey de do good things.
15 Because God want make una de do good so that una go fit close the mouth of people wey no de think well, wey de talk wetin them no know.
16 Make una be free people but make una no de use una freedom as excuse to do bad things. Instead, make una use-am as slaves of God.
17 Make una respect all kind of people, make una love all the brothers, make una fear God and respect the king.
18 Make servants de put theirself under their oga and really respect them. No be only the ones wey dey good and de treat them well them go respect, but even the ones wey e no easy to do wetin go make them happy.
19 Because na better thing e be, if person de endure problems and de suffer when e no do bad because e want get clean conscience for God eye.
20 But which gain dey if them de beat una because una do bad and una de endure-am? But if una de suffer because una de do good, and una de endure, this one na better thing for God eye.
21 True-true, na this kind life them call una to come live, because even Christ suffer for una and e show una example so that una go fit copy-am well.
22 E no sin at all, and them no hear any lie-lie for im mouth.
23 When people de curse-am, e no curse them back. When e de suffer, e no threaten people, instead, e put im life for the hand of the person wey de judge well.
24 E carry our sins for im body when them nail-am ontop pole,* so that we no go get anything to do with sin again, but we go de do wetin correct for God eye.* And “na im wound make una well.”
25 Because una first be like sheep wey don miss road, but now, una don come back to the shepherd and overseer wey de care for una.*
