5  But, one man wey im name na An·a·ni′as, together with im wife Sap·phi′ra, sell property.  But e hide some of the money and im wife know about-am, then e bring just some part of the money and give the apostles.  But Peter talk say: “An·a·ni′as, why Satan make you get strong heart to lie to the holy spirit and hide some of the money wey you get from the land?  As long as the land dey with you, e no continue to be your own? And after you don sell-am, the money no dey under your control? So why you think to do this kind thing for your heart? You don lie, no be to people, but na to God.”  As An·a·ni′as hear this things, e fall and die. And serious fear catch everybody wey hear about-am.  Then the young men come, them wrap-am with cloth, carry-am go outside, and bury-am.  Now after about three hours, im wife come inside, but e no know wetin don happen.  Peter tell-am say: “Tell me, na the complete money wey una two sell the land be this?” E talk say: “Yes, na the money be that.”  So Peter tell-am say: “Why una two agree to test the spirit of Jehovah? See! People* wey bury your husband dey for door and them go carry you go outside.” 10  At once e fall for front of Peter and die. When the young men come inside, them see say e don die, and them carry-am go outside and bury-am near im husband. 11  So serious fear catch the whole congregation and everybody wey hear about this things wey happen. 12  Apart from that one, the apostles continue to do many signs and wonderful things among the people. And all of them de meet together for Sol′o·mon Veranda. 13  The truth be say, nobody among the other people get the strong heart to join them, but the people de really talk well about them. 14  Ontop that one, more people wey believe the Lord continue to join and their number really plenty, both men and women. 15  Them even bring sick people come out for the streets wey plenty people de pass and put them there for small beds and mats, so that as Peter de pass, at least im shadow go fit touch some of them. 16  And plenty-plenty people from the cities wey dey around Jerusalem continue to come, them de bring sick people and people wey wicked spirits* de disturb, and them cure all of them. 17  But the high priest and all the people wey dey with-am wey be part of the group wey them de call Sadducee vex stand up, and their heart full with jealousy. 18  And them catch* the apostles and put them for public prison. 19  But for night, the angel of Jehovah open the doors of the prison and bring them come out and talk say: 20  “Make una go, and stand for the temple, and continue to tell people the whole message about this life.” 21  After them hear this one, them enter the temple when day break and start to teach. Now, when the high priest and the people wey dey with-am don come, them call the San′he·drin together and all the elders of the people of Israel, and them send people go the prison to bring the apostles to them. 22  But when the officers reach there, them no see them for the prison. So them go back and report wetin happen. 23  Them talk say: “The prison lock well and them protect-am when we reach there and the guards stand for the doors, but as we open-am, we no see anybody inside.” 24  Well, when the captain of the temple and the chief priests hear this things, them really confuse about wetin go happen because of this one. 25  But person come and tell them say: “See! The men wey una put for prison dey temple, them stand there de teach the people.” 26  Then the captain comot with im officers and bring them come, but them no use force, because them de fear say the people go stone them. 27  So them bring them and make them stand for front of the San′he·drin. Then the high priest question them 28  and talk say: “We give una strong command say make una no continue to teach with this name, but see! una don make Jerusalem full with the things wey una de teach, and una don decide to bring the blood of this man ontop our head.” 29  Peter and the other apostles answer them say: “We must obey God as ruler instead of people. 30  The God of our papa-papa them bring Jesus back to life, wey una kill as una hang-am for pole.* 31  God raise-am as the Main Leader and Savior and put-am for im right hand side, to make Israel people repent and for God to forgive their sins. 32  And we see this things,* and the holy spirit too, wey God don give people wey de obey-am as ruler.” 33  When them hear this one, e really make them vex no be small* and them be want kill the apostles. 34  But one Pharisee wey im name na Ga·ma′li·el stand up for the San′he·drin. Na Law teacher wey all the people really respect, and e give command say make them put the men for outside for small time. 35  Then e tell them say: “Men of Israel, make una dey careful about wetin una want do to this men. 36  For example, before this time, one person wey im name na Theu′das come out, and e de talk say e be important person and about 400 men join im group, but them kill-am and all the people wey de follow-am scatter and their own finish. 37  After-am, Judas from Gal′i·lee come out for the time wey them de do registration, and e draw people join imself as followers. That man still die and all the people wey be de follow-am scatter. 38  So for this condition now, I de tell una say make una no get anything to do with this men, but make una leave them. Because if this plan or this work wey them de do na from people, e go end, 39  but if na from God, una no go fit stop them, instead, una fit even de fight against God.” 40  So with this one, them accept im advice and them call the apostles, flog* them, and command them make them stop to talk with the name of Jesus, and allow them go. 41  So them comot from the San′he·drin, and de really happy no be small because God see them as people wey reach to suffer for the name of Jesus. 42  And everyday for the temple and from house to house, them continue and them no tire to preach and de teach the good news about the Christ, Jesus.
